Interesting museum in Berlin

Interesting museum that captures what life was like in the former East Germany before the fall of the Berlin Wall. There is a model of the classic Trabi car with a driving simulator which was fun to try out. The museum is small and can be visited in about an hour. It's located on Museum Island across from the Berlin Cathedral and next to the docking points for some of the Spree River cruises.

Excellent Museum

Even though I remember most of the period I still learned many things. My grandson learned them too, for the first time, since much of recent history is glossed over. Uniquely, you see the progression to communism and return to democracy, the return being the unusual part, since it doesn’t happen often.
