Easy meetup at the Tram. Great coach driver, very entertaining. We arrived at the Salmon Bake in 15 minutes. Drop off is at the beginning of the serving lines. Great clam chowder to begin with. Plenty of seating. The salad, beans, potatoes and salmon were great! Also they had wonderful BBQ ribs! The ride back to the tram was equal to the the ride earlier. Highly recommended.

The bus driver, Clark was fabulous! He was a plethora of information about Alaska and her history and he was very kind, offering me his coat because I was cold. The food was very nice and the heaters around this outdoor activity were very helpful.

Salmon Queen

Lori_G, Oct 2026
THE BEST SALMON OF MY LIFE. That glaze? Unreal. I'm going to be dreaming about this salmon bake all the way back to Texas. 10/10!

Terrible & overpriced

Nicole_H, Sep 2026
The experience was poor. The food was bland, especially the SALMON! Dessert was dry sheet cake. Food on our cruise ship was better and we wish we had skipped the expensive, overpriced salmon bake and boarded the ship prior to dinner instead. Would not recommend.

Food was subpar and no redeeming value for the Salmon Bake.

Adam_P, Sep 2026
Don’t do it. The food wasn’t fresh except for the salmon which was fine, not amazing. ALL of the sides had been sitting in the buffet for awhile. The cheese on the au gratin potatoes was hard and cold, The dessert was dry. The cornbread was dry. Only water and lemonade included for drinks. It’s a rip off for $75-80. Get the salmon bake on the ship and it will save you time, money and taste better.

Salmon Bake

MARLA_K, Sep 2026
Our tour guide was late so another driver came to take us on tour. The salmon, clam chowder, baked beans and ribs were very good. But some of the salmon had bones. Everything else was just ok, nothing outstanding. The gold panning was disappointing- difficult and hard to get (tiny flecks of gold). The atmosphere was nice and there was a nice waterfall nearby.

Mediocre Salmon Bake

Liz_B, Sep 2026
The salmon was delicious and we enjoyed watching it being masterfully grilled. The buffet of side dishes was mediocre. I'm not sure that it was worth the price. We did enjoy the waterfalls at the back of the property.

The setting was nice with live music playing while we ate. The salmon and ribs were a hit, and the walk up the creek to the falls was a nice finish to the trip.

City Ride & Lunch

Victor_S, Sep 2026
A 10 bus ride though the city and dropped off at a location to eat & site see. The food could have been hotter and more tasty, very bland. Prior to boarding the bus. I advised The Guide, that three (3) of our friend got sick on the ship. She was advised that I tried at the 27th-30th hours deadline to cancelling, but the phone remained busy and the site was down. The Guide was like "oh well attitude". I'm requesting a refund for the 3 reservations.

Great excursion!

Tracy_J, Sep 2026
The food was excellent! The bbq ribs were on point!! Actually probably better than the salmon which was also amazing with the glaze. The waterfall, the gold panning just a nice atmosphere!! Definitely worth your time and money!

Great food

Lynda_B, Sep 2026
Food was wonderful. Service great. The waterfall near by was a must see. The people were friendly and helpful.

Maybe I didn't research...

Jeremiah_B, Sep 2026
Maybe I didn't research enough about this but I thought this was going to be a small group activity where we caught and prepared our own salmon. Turns out it was more like summer camp. Like 700 people in a buffet line. Went really quick though and was absolutely delicious. A little camp fire for roasting marshmallows and a nice little walk to a picturistic water fall. I would do again, just slightly disappointed I didn't get to catch and prepare my own.

Yum!

Linda_P, Sep 2026
That you need a coat! Definitely a little chilly, the food was good but not amazing. I would do it again for sure.

Highly recommended!

Great dinner but the driver did not show up to pick us up at the designated time. He had to go with a bus a little bit later.

Victor_L, Aug 2026
Leave more than time if you’re traveling with a large party if you like to include panning for gold and walk to the waterfall. Went towards the end of August and you can see salmon swimming upstream to spawn.

Very nice if looking for a short day excursion.

Linda_S, Aug 2026
it was a short bus ride from The Port to the salmon bake. And the bus driver was very informative about things we passed on the way. It’s very organized getting your food and soup and drinks and plenty of open seating. We had a very overcast day pleasant weather. I like sitting by the babbling creek and watching the salmon try and swim upstream however it is very, very shallow, and there were many dead salmon in the water that was sad, and while there were no eagles, there was certainly a lot of seagulls which I thought was odd as they did not seem interested in the salmon but fighting each other and just walking in the water.

Atmosphere is great!

Shannon_E, Jul 2026
The atmosphere is amazing. The folks working the tables cleaning up were on it. Even saw Salmon swimming up the steam right there. Now we found the food to be just ok. The cornbread and blueberry cake were both very dry. The potatoes needed seasoning and were very bland. Now here’s the really strange part - the lady working the grill kept giving the men light pink salmon (it almost looked like it was farm raised) while the ladies got the really red looking salmon. Both me and my sister went back for second filets and she did exactly the same thing. I found it very odd. In addition the salmon that I was served was full of bones. Now, the Salmon wasn’t terrible - but I’ve certainly had better back home. I would have expected something amazing from a place like this. Anyhow, like I said the atmosphere is amazing but the food is meh. Would I go again, probably not.

Salmon bake!!

Ashlee_T, Jul 2026
Me and my family had a wonderful time at this salmon bake. It was set up so beautifully and the salmon was delicious! They also have a beautiful waterfall for you to visit. We saw two bald eagles while we were there! I highly recommend this excursion!!

Excellent!!

Do not miss this when you come to Juneau!!! Eflinda is the best salmon griller ever!!!! We would do this every time!!!!

Meagan_G, Jul 2026
The staff A++ , from the drivers to anyone we spoke to in the area was amazing, very knowledgeable and friendly. Beautiful scenery, fun little trail to try your hand at gold panning, waterfall, etc. However the main reason we booked this excursion was to eat some delicious Alaskan Salmon. We were extremely disappointing to say the least. The salmon was bland, our first time through the line it was also undercooked. By bland I mean zero flavor. Very sad because we would have gone to a nice restaurant for cheaper and better quality but we thought this would be a fun experience. If you are going to call yourselves a salmon bake, I would think your salmon needs to be top notch. The corn bread and ribs were pretty good, but I wanted the Alaskan Salmon flavor. I would say save your money, eat in town.

Gold Creek Salmon bake...

Skye, Jun 2026
Gold Creek Salmon bake was a wonderful experience. It was a rainy day when we went and we were still able to stay dry and enjoy our meal. The live music and campfires made the environment so inviting. The food was SO DELICIOUS and the staff was welcoming and kind. The short walk to the waterfall was beautiful. 10/10 experience!

The food was really good. The grounds included a really nice waterfall. And the weather is not always cold, lol.

Amazing location

Becky_Z, Jun 2026
This was a Fun experience in an awesome location ❤️ The salmon was amazing too. Lots to do with a waterfall to view, panning for gold, and a campfire with marshmallows.

Salmon Bake

Gary_P, Jun 2026
Salmon is cooked on the fire just as you walk in. Food is excellent. Decided to go back a 2nd time. Salmon, coleslaw, baked beans and fire roasted marshmallows were the best for us.

Buffet in the woods

Rich_B, Jun 2026
Pretty location, good food. I had hoped this would be a little more traditional with salmon cooked on boards around an open pit or something similar. Had a nice time, staff were very friendly. I just think it's a bit over sold

Tasty meal, great value.

YVONNE_B, Jun 2026
Easy to find pick up on the dock at Juneau, bus transfer with informative Sherry the driver. Good choice of salad, cornbread and cheesy potatoes and lovely salmon and ribs. Spend as long as you want there and get any bus back. Loved it.
