Discovering Rome without the crowds

If you have seen the famous sights of Rome, and want to experience a fascinating and enriching tour of Rome’s lesser known but equally impressive history, you must request Angelo for this tour. Angelo, accompanied by his brother Cesare, was incredibly and deeply knowledgeable. Their delightful and entertaining personalities, comprehensive command of the geography and history of the city, made the afternoon fly. We couldn’t have been more pleased with what we learned, including the bonus of recommendations for coffee shops, restaurants and gelato! Gracie, Angelo. And Cesare will make a wonderful guide as well.

We enjoyed our tour with a small group of 6 people. Our guide, Lisa, was a wealth of knowledge and shared so much history as we toured each space. She was great at keeping us moving through the crowded areas. We highly recommend going early in the morning. I do want to mention that even though the tour description said 7:30am, we did not get to enter until the museum opened at 8am.

She was very pleasant and sweet and most of all extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of Roman history and culture. I would highly recommend Viator Tours. Our flight got delayed by 23 hours and we were going to miss our Tour. When I contacted Viator to reschedule, they worked hard to get us in the day we arrived in Rome. Even though there was a fee to change our reservation, we didn't miss it! We also enjoyed the Tour, itself!

Absolutely must do! Such a learning experience

Marco was absolutely fantastic! Not knowing anything about Rome; he filled me with so much knowledge and understanding that it left a massive impression.. and me wanting to go back to Rome ASAP! If I wouldn’t have done a group tour; I wouldn’t have learned as much as I did. I don’t feel I would have enjoyed the sights as much. Be ready to walk. But at a comfortable pace.

Iconic Roma in 3 hours.

What a great way to get introduced to Rome - and really Italy as a whole. The tour was well paced, with a nice balance of relaxed conversation and interesting history and culture. Our driver, John, was knowledgeable without overdoing it, and he made the experience feel personal rather than scripted. He also navigated the city smoothly and safely, which definitely added to the overall comfort of the tour. I’ll be raising a glass of wine tonight in his honor. Hopefully his bosses read this and consider giving him a raise

Wonderful tour, worthwhile use of your time.

Very informative and thorough tour. We saw so much and Kate kept us moving without feeling rushed. The small group size was great for keeping everyone together. Kate was charming and helpful and answered all questions. She was full of good stories and pointed out many things that one would miss by going on their own. In addition, having the skip the line and special tour guide access means we maximized our time there with no unnecessary waiting around. We went in January which was ideal for temperature and crowds. This tour involves a lot of walking and some stairs.

Wow what an experience. Our driver Flavior I think sorry for spelling. Was a great guy. There was just the 3 of us on this private tour. He was very knowledgable & when we stopped off he was not in any rush so we could take our time to look & take photos. Highly recommend the tour if you have never been to Rome

Great tour and hope Olga is your guide

Very informative and the guides are incredible. It was a treat to have Olga as our guide for the Vatican portion of the tour. This tour is full of incredible facts and gives you plenty of time in between to grab lunch and make it to the next tour. I went in June, so be aware of the heat because it is a lot of walking and can be very hot.
