Itinerary
With an audio guide to hear the commentary clearly, pass through art-bedecked rooms such as the Gallery of the Maps, the Pinecone Courtyard, and the Sistine Chapel, where “The Creation of Adam” and “The Last Judgement” beckon. Michelangelo’s striking Renaissance frescoes bear testament to the artist’s genius, and learn about the man himself before you enter the chapel, as talking isn’t permitted inside.
Follow your guide into St. Peter’s Basilica, once again bypassing the crowds. After getting the lowdown on the church’s religious significance and artistic treasures, your tour ends here. However, you can linger inside or admire Bernini’s colonnades in St. Peter’s Square.
