Great Day Out!
Easy booking and great communication with Viator as usual. Picked up at 8.30 at Bus Stop No. 9 by Paulo (probably spelt wrong). He was a great guide for the day, funny, informative and everything was on time. The tour is great, lots of comfort breaks, crafts, toilets and gift shops throughout the day. Going on the smaller bus makes it feel much more personal. We had a great day and finishing at the Blue Lagoon is perfect! We would definitely recommend.

Excellent guide, excellent food
This food tour was amazing! We’ve been on food tours all over the world and this ranks up with our top two favorites from Paris and Rome. It’s not just the food that makes the tour—it’s also the guide. We feared cold, pickled fish, but we got hot fish, pastries, sweet rye bread, hot dogs, lamb stew, and ice cream. There was an option to try pickled shark the size of a dice, but that was the only thing that was unappetizing. Our guide was Heidi and she’s amazing! She’s friendly, funny, disarming, and cares about her tourists. She engages people in conversation and brings everyone together. Our group felt very relaxed with each other. She has also picked some great restaurants to share Iceland’s history and culture. The food was all very good, from the morning pastries to the comfort cod dish and Icelandic Char (like salmon) to the lamb stew, hot dogs, and rye bread ice cream dessert. Honestly Iceland’s rye bread reminds me of pumpkin bread because it’s dark and sweet due to the way they make it (there is no pumpkin in it). We signed up for the 10:30 am tour and this covered breakfast and lunch. We were literally stuffed by the end. You will love the morning pastries—there are 3 different ones. And the coffee adds the finishing touch. Don’t miss the opportunity to go on this food tour. I hope you get Heidi because she was so funny and enjoyable and she makes your morning interesting. The walking is mild to moderate. There is a hill as you walk through town, but the surface is all a street or sidewalk. There are some stairs in the restaurants, but we had no problem. The town is super cute and the businesses you learn about are fun to visit after the tour.

We were not picked up on Scheduled time and place!
Overall we enjoyed the tour but we were disappointed that we weren’t picked up at the Hotel Cabin at the pre-arranged time of 9:30 am, on June 18th. We were waiting at the Hotel Cabin by 9:15 am but no one showed up. I contacted the Viator support line around 9:50 and told them we had been waiting since 9:15AM. The operator said they needed to look into it and would get back to me. When they responded I was told that the problem was I had not confirmed a pick up address prior to the tour. That is incorrect. I purchased our tickets for this tour in late January and I confirmed that we were to be picked up at the Hotel Cabin on June 3rd. I still have the email and the Hotel Address is also confirmed as the Pick up Point on the tickets that I printed out June 3rd. We were still waiting after 10 am when your help line advised us that we were being re-scheduled for a later tour and would not be picked up until 12 pm. Although we enjoyed the tour very much, we were very disappointed that we lost over two hours that we had hoped to spend exploring the sights of Reykjavik before flying back to Canada early in the morning. We understand that mistakes happen but this was not a good experience for us.

Relaxing visit to the sky lagoon
Awesome experience at the Sky Lagoon. The lagoon is very relaxing, facilities are clean, and views spectacular. Go in the morning to avoid crowds. We enjoyed this more than the Blue Lagoon as it wasn’t as busy and closer to the city centre. Also a bit more economical.

Picture yourself scaling a glacier, standing beneath a roaring waterfall, soaking in a geothermal pool surrounded by lava fields, horseback riding on a black-sand beach, and basking in the ethereal glow of the northern lights. All of this is possible in otherworldly Iceland. This small island packs a big punch in the outdoor adventure department, but you can also find Iceland tours that immerse you in the vibrant culture of Reykjavik and culinary excursions that let you sample traditional food. So, whether you want to snorkel between continents or sip a local brew, Iceland tours will show you how.
