The most perfect day trip

Fabulous trip ! It was well planned, plenty of stop offs and the guide Mario was amazing -he gave us clear instructions through the day ,interesting talks about the history and the Portuguese culture and architecture. The palace at Sintra was spectacular but we didn’t go inside due to queues but there was plenty to see outside and we felt we didn’t miss out . Lunch at Cascais was the icing on the cake !

A fun, personally tailored tour in Lisbon.

Our tour guide, Jimena, kept us informed about the meeting point and went out of her way to pick us up at the cruise port terminal. She repeatedly communicated her arrival status. Once we were together, she told us what the tour plan was then adjusted the plan to suit our needs and interests. This included changing ticket times which I did not expect to be possible. It was a very pleasant, stress free experience dynamically tailored to our interests by a very knowledgeable, capable, and fun tour guide. My wife and I would definitely repeat this experience, especially if we could get Jimena as our guide.

Extraordinary experience!! Our driver/guide Tommy is top-notch!!

Our driver/guide Antonio (Tommy) was extraordinary!! We indicated our interest in having the three stops be in Nazaré, Fatima, and Aveiro, and he organized the trip so that it fit perfectly with the times of least congestion, so we were able to tour more comfortably, and with the best recommendations for lunch and trying local foods. In Fatima, we had enough time to tour the sanctuary, which is very impressive. Then we went to Nazaré, where he told us a little about the history of the place, the legends, and left us time to visit the Praia do Norte (home of the giant waves) where you can only access the Forte de São Miguel Arcanjo by walking or by TukTuk (they charge 2 euros for the trip). Then he recommended a place in the town of Nazaré for lunch, really delicious, called Rosa dos Ventos, very small, but the food was very, very tasty and the service was excellent (note that payment cannot be made by credit card but there is an ATM a few steps away). And finally, we arrived in Aveiro just in time to take the moliceiro ride (the typical boat of the place) at sunset, which made it very special. Tommy even managed to save us two spots for that time, which tends to be the most requested, and it is definitely worth it. And our route ended at the hotel in Porto where he dropped us off on time, and with many recommendations on what to see, where to go for dinner, and all those tips that only a local can give you. Tommy was the best part of this trip; during the journey, he kept telling us about the history of Portugal, the places to visit, the food to try, and everything that could make our stay as good as possible. Extremely helpful, he assisted us when we had trouble getting a reservation for a Fado show (which was already sold out), and even after the tour had ended, I was able to ask him questions and he responded with pleasure. It makes all the difference to be able to do this tour with someone who loves their country and who loves to share their passion with visitors. Portugal is definitely a place to return to, and when we do, we hope that Tommy will be our guide. Highly recommended!!!

Wonderful Full Day Tour to Sintra

Full day tour to Sintra and its castles. Guierrmo, our tour guide provided great commentary regarding all the sights we saw, recommendations for shopping and restaurants in town. He was very personable and funny. Be prepared for walking up and down hills and stairs. Great tour, do not miss.

Fantastic day out

Worth every penny!

This was absolutely worth every penny we spent!! Pedro G picked us up at our hotel and we had a pleasant drive to Sintra where he explained monuments and history that we passed. We started our Sintra visit off with the local pastry "travesseiro" at Casa Piriquita, a bakery that started in 1862. A delicious way to be welcomed into our day of adventuring. After admiring & learning about the National Palace, we headed to our timed entry into Quinta da Regaleira. Pedro G had great insights into the property's history and how it came to be today. Afterwards, we headed to a delicious Portuguese lunch at Tasca Saloia. We enjoyed local Portuguese "vinho verde" and "chourico" - charred chorizo at your table! This gave us plenty of energy to tackle the Pena Palace - which Pedro G navigated for us wonderfully. We ended our day with extra time at Cascais, since weather prevented an enjoyable trip to Boca do Inferno. In addition to the wonderful sights & tastes of this small slice of Portugal, Pedro G was an excellent tour guide with great insights, patience with our many questions, and pleasant company on our tour. After watching very large, slightly impersonal tour groups around Sintra - we were so thankful to have our friend Pedro G showing us around! We cannot recommend this tour's value highly enough. Obrigado!

History, nature, and excellent storytelling.

It was a wonderful trip. Our guide, Ömer Faruk Keçeci, had excellent planning, explanations, and communication skills. It was great to both travel and listen to the history. It was particularly wonderful to experience how the climate suddenly changed at Pena Palace, the harmony of history and nature, and the colorful architecture of Portugal.

Our tour with Nuno was...

Our tour with Nuno was great!! He is knowledgeable, very friendly & personable! When we mentioned that we were driving to Porto, he even gave us some restaurant tips along the way, as well as some recommendations in Lisbon! The Pena Palace was beautiful & we got there before the crowds. Nuno recommended skipping the inside of the palace since only 4-5 rooms inside are open to the public and the wait time to get inside is very long. He dropped us off in the town of Sintra, recommended a pastry shop & told us to take some time shopping. We didn’t feel rushed at all!
