A great day trip from Lisbon!

This is a full day tour worth every penny! The hotel pick up was worth while for us as it was so convenient to just walk out of our hotel. Patrik was an amazing and obviously passionate guide who took great care of our group. The local family-owned restaurant where we had lunch was just delightful & delicious! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in a day trip from Lisbon.

Excellent choice

Great day with Rodrigo! He’s an excellent guide and provides a great tour. Be prepared for lots of walking, much of it up and down steep/narrow streets/paths. Sintra and Pena Palace are beautiful, and historic and have these streets and trails. Sintra has the famous tile/cobblestone (steep) streets. Pay attention when it’s raining. The white tiles are crazy slick. Cascais is a beautiful waterfront town. Listen to your guide’s recommendations for lunch. Rodrigo recommended several, we chose one, and it was great. Highly recommend this tour, and hope you get Rodrigo as your guide.

great day trip to the beautiful Douro valley!

this full day excursion is well worth the money!!! Our guide Joana picked us up on time at our hotel (so convenient!) and drove us out to the Douro valley while sharing historical and cultural information along the way. The winery stops were excellent, lunch was excellent and the boat ride on the Douro river was just amazing. I would not hesitate to book this excursion while you are staying in Porto!

More than just a tour

I would highly recommend this excursion to anyone wishing to visit Sintra and Cascais. We included the Penna Palace tickets which was fascinating and should not be missed. Our guide and driver, Orlando, was highly professional and gave us a wealth of information, both historical and cultural. Nothing was hurried and we were given plenty of time for photo opportunities. There was time to look round Sintra and to enjoy pastries and coffee, and in Cascai there was plenty of time for lunch and to explore the town. The return home along the coast was a fitting end to the day.

Wonderful small-group experience with an excellent guide!

Our guide, José, was excellent, and we loved the small-group setting of this Douro Valley tour. We really enjoyed the other travelers in our group, and José did a wonderful job of bringing everyone together and creating a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. He was knowledgeable and engaging, sharing not only the history and culture of the region but also insights into some of the issues facing modern Portugal. He encouraged conversation, was easygoing and personable, and kept everything running smoothly while making sure everyone was comfortable and safe. My favorite part of the day was the boat ride along the Douro River. The scenery was absolutely stunning, and with only one other small group joining us, the experience felt peaceful and intimate rather than like mass tourism. In fact, avoiding an overcrowded, touristy experience was one of the main reasons I chose this particular tour, and it really delivered in that respect. The garden lunch was also enjoyable, and the food was very good. My one suggestion would be to improve the setting. Given the spectacular scenery of the Douro Valley, it would have been wonderful to dine somewhere with a view, or at least in a particularly attractive garden. Instead, the setting felt more like a simple backyard, with our feet on bare dirt. The food was good, but the ambiance didn't quite match the rest of the experience. Interestingly, my family isn't particularly interested in wine, yet this tour turned out to be one of the highlights of our entire trip to Portugal. Between the beautiful scenery, the intimate boat experience, the wonderful group dynamics, and José's excellent guiding, it was a truly memorable day. I would highly recommend it, even to travelers who aren't especially interested in wine!

Our guide J-LO was absolutely brilliant, so funny & very informative, gave loads of interesting information & history on Lisbon, Cascais, Pena & Quinta Da Regaleira. Quinta da Regaleira is an absolute must & well worth paying extra for the entrance tickets, really relieved we only purchased the garden & outside tickets for Pena palace as the queues were so long it’s not guaranteed you’d see inside within the allocated time limit, I researched before booking which advised outside tickets are enough & not worth paying the extra to go inside. J-Lo was the best tour guide I’ve ever had & highly recommended Odyssey tours & if you are lucky enough to have J-LO as your guide you’re in for a great trip. Thank you so much J-LO for such a memorable experience.

Amazing experience! Slimmy was an incredible guide—so outgoing, knowledgeable, and full of interesting facts about Porto and the Douro Valley. Andre was a great driver, and the entire day was fantastic from start to finish. The wineries were amazing, lunch was delicious, and we stopped at several beautiful spots for photos, as well as a cute little town on the way back. Everything was well organized, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Porto!
