7 Happy Travelers
Absolutely amazing experience viewing Caldeira das Sete Cidades! Although there were dozens of people hiking, there’s no way you could take in all the sights in this area unless you’re doing it by vehicle. The Land Rover was very comfortable and felt safe for the 7 guests. Daniel, the tour guide was knowledgeable about the entire island and asked us what we wanted to see and customized a bit of the drive for us. This experience is well worth it!

Fantastic tour!
Such a great experience! We each got our own quads, and the tour covered so much ground. The pace was comfortable, the staff was wonderful, and the views—from high up on the mountain tops down through the small towns—were amazing. Definitely worth the money!

Dolphin watching
The company were great, personnel knowledgeable and friendly. We had a good time and got to see two different types of dolphin. I would say for anyone who wants to see whales, make sure you do a zodiac boat and not a catamaran. We were told there were whales sighted but we saw no whales, while I understand it’s not guaranteed, there were no zodiac boats anywhere in sight where we saw the dolphins, so I assumed they were off viewing the whales while the larger vessels did the dolphins. It was still a great experience and the dolphins were beautiful but I think expectations could be managed more openly.

What a spectacular...
What a spectacular adventure swimming with wild dolphins off the first of Sao Miguel! My wife and I had the absolute best time! We had amazing weather, amazing guide and captain, and an overall amazing time in the water! We located a pod of dolphins and followed them for about 1.5 hours and we're able to get into the water 3 times while rotating with the other members in our group! The pod of dolphins that we encountered were probably between 50-75!

Great way to start your trip.
We really enjoyed this walking food tour and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Ponta Delgada.
The tour offers a nice balance of history, sightseeing, and local cuisine. There’s a fair amount of walking, but nothing strenuous, and it gives you a great feel for the city while introducing you to many of the foods and specialties you should try while you’re there. The food portions were generous, and we appreciated being able to sample so many local favorites without having to research them ourselves.
I think this tour is especially worthwhile if you’re only in Ponta Delgada for the day, if it’s your first stop after arriving on São Miguel, or if you’re planning to spend several days in the city and want a great introduction to the area. For my husband and me, it was the very first thing we did after landing before heading to our bed and breakfast, and it was a wonderful way to begin our vacation.
A special thank you to our guide, Marco, who did a fantastic job leading our group. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly well organized, especially considering the size of our group. More than anything, you could tell he genuinely enjoys sharing his passion for Azorean culture, history, and food, and that enthusiasm made the experience even more enjoyable. While the information was naturally well structured, it never felt impersonal—Marco was engaging, welcoming, and happy to answer questions throughout the tour.
Our group happened to be fairly large, so navigating some of the stops took a little extra coordination. I imagine a smaller group would make the experience even more enjoyable, but despite the size, Marco kept everything running smoothly and did an excellent job keeping everyone together.
Overall, this was a fantastic introduction to Ponta Delgada and the local food scene, and we’re very glad we chose to start our Azores trip this way.

Such a fun adventure for...
Such a fun adventure for both adults & kids ages 9 through 46! Our tour guides made us all feel comfortable and safe, even my 9yr old son who didn’t think he would do the big jump at the end (he did it!). We had Ipa & Z as guides & they were both so much fun, filled with positive energy & so kind to everyone.

A week's worth of fun in one day
So glad we opted for a guided jeep tour to Sete Cidades & Lagoa de Fogo. Our guide was an expert in finding cloud breaks to catch amazing views. He creatively navigated our day to show more of this beautiful island than we could see in a week on our own.
Highly recommend!

What a special day!...
What a special day!
We were very lucky to be the only ones for this tour. Had a chance to connect with our guide Andre on a different level and we really appreciated the conversation all afternoon.
Be prepared to get dirty, there is a lot of dust.
Check meeting point as there are a few different towns that have operators and you may need a taxi depending on where you stay.
Superb service/wonderful experience!

Great views of marine wildlife, but need to be good swimmers to snorkel
tldr - you'll travel a short distance off the coast to reach an island with protected marine life. The boat circles the island, and you'll see a variety of wildlife through the glass bottom. Finally, you're given the opportunity to put on a wet suit and snorkel around the island for a closer view.
We got to see quite a lot of wildlife during this tour. The marine specialist keeps visual aids so you can see images of all the different kinds of fish you may come across. Personally though I think it's better to just enjoy the view. The specialist will also share some interesting stories about the island, like an old coming of age ritual that involved using a rather precariously looking rock formation to cross a chasm.
Snorkeling can be quite a challenge if you don't have prior experience. The water is still cold in June, and I was the only one in my family who participated. I'm very comfortable swimming laps in a pool, but I struggled with snorkeling, particularly breathing only through my mouthpiece. Still, if you are comfortable with snorkeling then you'll be treated to some spectacular views. There are quite a few fish that like to hide in crevices around the island and you'll need to dive into the water to catch them. A few of the more experienced divers also had photographs taken of them underneath the glass bottom.
The staff are superb. The captain is clearly a people person, and regularly took time to get to know all of us. He sensed my kids were a bit nervous going into this ride and made sure to check in with us. On our way back to the port he let my daughter navigate the boat up until we were supposed to dock. She was absolutely thrilled to take the wheel, and I'm sure it ended up being one of her favorite memories of the trip.
Once we returned to port the captain treated us to a quick drink in celebration of our journey. Adults get a small glass of port, children a glass of Kima passionfruit soda. In hindsight I would probably wait for my kids to be older before going on this experience, but it was certainly a great one!

Book it!
A great way to see the island without having to rent a car (you would be fine driving around town, but getting to some of the highlight spots in Sete Cidades, for example, are easy to miss or require a half day hike). We had João and Eric for the two days and they were both very friendly and knowledgeable, taking us to many sightseeing/photo ops and local places over the two days. You do travel in a 8 or 10 passenger van though, which allows you to get to some of the harder to navigate spots, but I would recommend motion sickness meds (if you’re like me and haven’t sat in the back of a van in a while) and layers, as the weather changes rapidly. Can’t recommend this tour enough, though, and the lunch option is well worth it to get a real taste of the local cuisine.

Magical Day
We enjoyed the variety of sites and activities on this itinerary. Our tour was made even more special by our delightful guide, Silvia. The island stories and island insights she shared added to the delightful day. Highly recommend this tour and Silvia!

A fantastic day out!
Joseph, our guide, was brilliant and ensured we got to see and experience everything, including seeing our food being removed from the volcanic ‘ovens’. We had a lot of fun and Joseph gave us plenty of interesting facts about the different locations we visited. The day was relaxed and we had plenty of time to see all the sights. Really recommend this trip and company
