West Side of Azores
We had an absolutely amazing experience with Mariano! He took my sister and me on our tour and truly made the entire day unforgettable. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about sharing the history, culture, and hidden details that we would have completely missed on our own. He kept everything fun and engaging while making us feel comfortable from the moment we met him. What really stood out was how personable and attentive he was, it felt less like a standard tour and more like exploring with a local friend who genuinely wanted us to have the best experience possible. Mariano went above and beyond to make sure we were having a great time. If you’re lucky enough to get Mariano as your guide, you’re in for an incredible experience. He made our trip so much more memorable, and my sister and I would recommend him 100% without hesitation. Thank you, Mariano!

A wonderful adventure
Amazing experience!! Bruno, our guide, was wonderful. He took us through these trails where the views were spectacular. Everything with the booking went well, all information was accurate. We are so glad we did this adventure. It’s been the highlight of our trip.

Cruising, with one day in port- take this excursion!
We booked a half-day quad ride tour (advertised as 3–4 hours) during our transatlantic cruise from New York to Barcelona, and it was hands down one of the best excursions we’ve ever done. I found it on Viator and chose it based on the strong reviews and beautiful photos—and it absolutely lived up to the hype.
For cruise travelers, this is super convenient—only about a 15–20 minute cab ride from the cruise terminal. Uber worked perfectly for us, and we paid around $18 for a smooth, hassle-free ride. We actually arrived a bit early, but that wasn’t an issue at all. There was a shaded seating area where we could relax while the team prepped and cleaned the quads for the next group.
Our group had over 20 people, and the excursion was led by Bruno, who did a fantastic job keeping everything organized and fun. The quads were in great condition—no technical issues whatsoever. The ride itself was incredible. It felt like we explored nearly the entire island, with breathtaking views throughout the journey.
We’ve done quad tours before in places like Jamaica, but this one easily topped them all. My husband and I absolutely loved every minute of it. Truly an all-around amazing experience that we would highly recommend!

If you're only going to do one tour
If you're only going to do one tour, this one fits a comprehensive island experience into a comfortable day's schedule: tea and pineapple plantation visits, crater lake views, the Parque Terra Nostra botantical gardens with the opportunity for hotspring bathing, bubbling hotsprings belching steam, the opportunity to enjoy Cozido das Furnas cooked below ground in volcanic heat. (Participants need to budget 18 and 25 euros for garden entry and 3-course lunch respectively.) Our guide, Amandine, was excellent: knowledgeable and informative with excellent English; helpful and attentive.

Amazing opportunity!!
I would say the two day tour is definitely worth your money and time. The guides are well experienced and have a depth of knowledge about the island and history. The lunch on both days was phenomenal and allowed for more time to connect with the group members. One thing I would advise for future tour-goers is to bring a rain jacket, we did and it was needed on some points during the tour. The weather in the Azores can be unpredictable, with that in mind some of the beautiful scenic stops you might not be able to see due to the fog. That being said, the wind can often move the fog away very quickly and allow for a nice view. Another thing would be if you would like to go into the Hot Springs in Terranostra you should bring swimsuits and a towel as well as be aware that it is an extra 17€. Part of the group that did the hot springs throughly enjoyed it and mentioned that they would like to go back with more time. If this isn’t something you might like, you can opt out and walk around the surrounding town and its parks which is what we did, and it was delightful.

Great experience -...
Great experience - despite light rain, we were able to see Orcas, Common dolphins and Bottlenose dolphins. Did not feel rushed. The kids enjoyed it too.
We were on the Catamaran boat but it is still somewhat rocky on the ocean, as expected I guess, and my partner did get sea sick. The crew members were very used to this and were very helpful. Their tip of not staying in the interior room if you are prone for sea sickness was very valuable.

Get foodie walking tour in Ponta Delgada
Isha was so kind, patient, and lovely within her community of foodies! She shared some history, lots of local culture and great eats too! Her pace was very well timed and her co- workers worked together seamlessly to give us a wonderful experience! If we were staying overnight there we would definitely have dinner at Hungry Whales’ restaurant, Rootz!

Challenge yourself to an memorable and offbeat activity
Expect fun and facing new challeges. The hike up was UP but took several breaks before getting in the creek heading down.
The guides are really helpful to insure safety and good education for each repel, jump and how to walk in the creek with boulders. There is an area by the shop to change your swim suit to dry clothes. I came on a cruise ship to Ponta Delgada. I walked across the street to the Grand Hotel where I was picked up. All safe and not confusing. About a 45 min drive to the park. I am a active 76 yr old female. The hike and water activities were not to difficult but you need some sense to walk in, around and over rocks.
Please go and make a forever memory in the most beautiful and safe jungle I have enjoyed.

Excellent Guide and Experience
If I could give our guide and this experience 10 STARS, I would! From the moment we were picked up, we all felt like we were with an old friend. Our guide was fabulous- personable, funny, very knowledgeable about the island and we learned alot about Azorean history and culture. We went all over Furnas, used the hot springs (OMG) we felt wonderful- the spa is very classy. The dinner was huge and very delicious. It was an excellent experience that I and my friends would do again in a heartbeat! Highly recommend

Beautiful Sao Miguel
Great tour of both sides of the island. Quite a bit of driving but highly recommended if you are short on time and don’t want to do the planning and driving yourself. Lunch on both days was great as well. If you want to see the hydrangeas, I recommend late May or June. It was a bit rainy and misty at the end of April/beginning of May but still very beautiful.

Angela and Eduardo were...
Angela and Eduardo were great guides! They prioritized safety and ensured everyone in the group was having fun. There was a total of 6 of us in the group + the 2 guides. After the hike to the starting point, we did a zip line off the first waterfall. We walked a little down the river and did a slide. The next stop was an option to jump and everyone got the option to jump twice. Last was a rappel down the side of the waterfall. So much fun! I love that the zip line, slide, and jumps helped warm up the group before the rappel. I’ve done waterfall rappelling before and it can be nerve wracking starting off with rappelling down a waterfall but the zip line was a great start!

Don’t even think twice about booking this experience!!
This was probably one of the top 3 experiences of my life!! I was hoping to maybe see some dolphins from the boat and then maybe 1 or 2 in the water but holy cow!! We saw SO MANY DOLPHINS while in the water! They were so curious and one got incredibly close to me and looked me in the eyes - it was a moment I will never forget. Even the people working on the boat were freaking out about how cool that was! The boat ride was so fun, the people were incredibly nice and it felt very respectful of the environment and dolphins. I seriously cannot recommend this enough!!
