Free pickup at the hotel or Airbnb in the centre of Lisbon, between 7am and 7pm55. Drop-off at two central points: Plaza Marqués de Pombal and Plaza dos Restauradores. You will receive a message the day before the tour (between 8:00 PM and 8:30 PM) with the exact time of your pickup. You must be at the designated pickup place at the scheduled time. Otherwise, you may have to meet directly with the Guide in Sintra. For pickups in Alfama, Bairro Alto, Baixa or other areas where vehicles are not allowed, we will provide a nearby meeting point. This is a shared tour, so the Guide can arrive 5 - 10 minutes before or after the scheduled time. Don’t worry, your Guide will arrive soon! Additional information about DROP-OFF : The drop-off will take place at two central locations in Lisbon: Plaza Marquês de Pombal and Plaza dos Restauradores. Both locations are well served by all kinds of transportation: Metro, Taxi, Uber and Bus. Tell the Guide which drop-off you prefer. This way you will avoid heavy traffic at the end of the day, and arrive at your hotel or apartment earlier! You will also have more time to enjoy the beautiful city of Lisbon, with its nightlife, shops and restaurants.

The excursion to Sintra is a fantastic day trip! You see and learn so much. Our guide Iago made the day perfect with his storytelling, sense of humor, and relaxed demeanor. We were a small group, which makes the experience much more personal and meaningful. Iago got to know all of us and tailored the experience to us taking special care with any needs folks had. It was a fun day where we started as strangers but ended as friends with a lovely shared experience between us. Tops sights were the palaces (Quinta da Regaleira and Pena), a local delicious lunch, Cabo da Roca and the Lighthouse, and gelato in Cascais. Another great Viator experience!
Davide was a fabulous guide. He certainly knew his history and gave us some great insights into Lisbon past and present. He made it a very fun, informative trip. The lunch stop was great, a real local experience.
It was a great day. We had a small group of eight for the day. Tiago, our guide, was great. We got to see everything, had some time in the morning to explore the town, and had a great lunch. We never felt rushed and got to enjoy everything. Tiago was very accommodating with whatever anyone in the group needed. Highly recommend this experience.
Tour was GREAT, and our tour guide, David was EXCELLENT; he knows everyone in the area and all the right places to go.
My only complaint…having the tour guide collecting cash for entrance tickets is awkward!! Who carries cash any way?? I had to make sure I had enough cash, then try to have the correct amount €37.50 (so I needed coin…ugh), and then our guide had to collect it…so sketchy. Please just add the entrance fee to the tour price, and make it easy.
Andre was the best tour guide for our day trip to Sintra and Cascais. Not only did he share a ton with us about his country and these cities, but also the historical context around everything we saw. We are so glad we chose this tour!

We absolutely loved our Sintra tour, and Chico was terrific! He was knowledgeable, personable, funny, and genuinely enjoyable to spend the day with.
What really made the tour special was how Chico personalized the experience. He knew exactly where and how to take some really unique photos of our group that came out amazing. These weren’t pictures we would have ever thought to take on our own. Our favorite was a group photo inside the well with the skylight above us. It was such a cool shot and captured the experience perfectly.
Chico shared so much interesting history and information along the way, but always in a natural and conversational way. The day felt relaxed, we never felt rushed, and he made sure we really got to enjoy each stop.
Sintra is beautiful on its own, but Chico made the experience memorable. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal, and we would absolutely recommend this tour. If you get Chico as your guide, you’re in great hands!
This is a full day of experiences. A lot of walking but it is worth every step and every cent spent. Our driver arrived on time to pick us up from our accommodation in the trademark black Mercedes.
The driver was courteous Professional and knowledgeable. He dealt with each individual passenger as if they were the only ones there but still focus on a group environment. He had that touch to make you feel welcome. Our main sight seeing was Sintra and surrounding areas, castles and monuments. Each one was explained in detail with a not over the top but clear explanation of each. But was also willing to go into detail if requested or needed. It was a full history lesson on a relaxed level. I could not recommend this highly enough. We had a chance to have lunch with the group and relax and have a chat and get to know each other which is not everyone’s thing but again it was personable and very accepted by all.
At the end of the day we are on holidays and looking for knowledge on a new place. The driver was a local and the city like the back of his hand, which is exactly what you want to pay for.
Do yourself a favour, don’t go anywhere else, book these guys.
Long but great day. Saw so many sites. Luis was an amazing guide. He treated us with so much kindness and he was funny and smart and full of energy. Great at everything a guide should be. Cannot say enough good things about him. He really went out of his way to assure everyone had their needs met and beyond. Highly recommend this tour.
One of the highlights of our trip. The castles were even better in person than we could have imagined. Lunch was fantastic-one of the best meals of our trip! The tour is long, but absolutely worth it. This a must do trip. Bernardo was very nice, and an all around cool person. We learned a lot, and also felt like we were with a friend.
This is easily the most poorly managed tour we've had in Europe. The night before the tour we received a message telling us we would need to pay cash at the start of the tour for options we didn't want or weren't aware of. The first was a was a lunch which we didn't want - we prefer to "tour" on our trips and not spend time during the day in a restaurant. The second was a ticket to a palace that the tour description showed as "exterior only", with no explanation that there was an interior option that we'd have access to later for an additional fee. It's not unusual on tours we've been on that we have visited a castle or cathedral where we get the opportunity to walk around it and take pictures and no interior entrance is offered. It was also interesting that a second castle was included in our tour that provided full interior and exterior access, no additional on-the-spot, cash payments necessary. We thought our tickets for which we paid 231 USD provided a full day tour. We literally were left on the curb at the palace for 1 1/2 hours while others took the tour. For the afternoon lunch, we were dropped at a bus stop for 2 hours while others went to lunch. In addition to all of this, we had 8 people in a small van. By the time we got picked up at the start of the tour, I was left with a seat in the back that my 6-foot-tall body couldn't sit upright because there was inadequate headroom. We expected better. This was a great disappointment. It's the second really bad experience we've had with Viator. The other involved our 2-year-old granddaughter getting kicked off a bus in the middle of Honolulu, Hawaii several miles from our hotel. We would advise anyone considering one of these tours to exercise a high degree of caution before booking anything.
Davide was our guide to Sintra, and couldn’t have asked for better! He studies history on the side when he’s not working, so he knows sooo much history about Lisbon! Not a dull moment! This tour was great and don’t hesitate about booking this trip! Was so worth it!

Fantastic trip to Sintra and Cascais. Our tour guide (Escudeiro) was so knowledgeable, friendly and made the day so much fun. He made sure we felt comfortable and answered all our questions. Definitely recommend for seeing all the main sights in Sintra.
