Full day Jeep tour with Sergio!!

We had the most incredible full-day tour with Sergio from Green Zone Tours, and it was honestly one of the highlights of our entire trip! Sergio was wonderful from start to finish — incredibly knowledgeable, funny, and so easygoing. He made everyone feel comfortable and completely at ease throughout the day. You could tell how much he genuinely loves the island and enjoys sharing it with visitors. We learned so much about the history, culture, landscape, and hidden gems of the Azores, and Sergio was able to answer every question we threw at him. His knowledge of the island was incredible! The Defender was beautiful 💚 Sergio took us to see some beautiful beaches and a few of his favourite local spots while we waited for the fog to burn off for the grand finale Lagoa do Fogo! And it was so worth the wait! When the fog finally cleared, the view from the top was absolutely STUNNING. 🌋😍 We also discovered Santa Bárbara Beach, which ended up being another favourite stop — and a place we probably never would have found without Sergio! What made the day so special was that it didn't feel like we were simply being taken from one tourist attraction to another. It felt like we were exploring the island with a local who genuinely wanted us to experience the best of São Miguel. I would highly recommend doing this tour at the beginning of your trip. Sergio is not only an amazing guide, but he can give you great ideas and recommendations for the rest of your stay. His local knowledge can point you in the right direction for beaches, places to visit, things to see, and experiences you might otherwise miss. What a fantastic day! A fun adventure!

We had a great afternoon with Tomas and Alberto! They made the experience fun and enjoyable. We were provided with all the gear we needed. Just show up and meet the company in the parking lot. All you need is a bathing suit. You can leave your shoes/clothing in their van for the duration of the experience. This was a lot of fun and great for the kids (ours were ages 8 and 11). Highly recommend giving this tour a try. It was great!

Amazing, cannot recommend highly enough!

This trip was truly fantastic. AMAZING places to see with just the right amount of time given to each place. I really appreciated 1.5 hours in Terra Nostra so it was enough time to speed walk the park and have a 15 min dip in the hot springs. Dinner after was fab! Ok, the food isn't tasty but it was a fabulous experience and portions were enormous. My tour guide Andre is the best guide I've ever had! He really made the trip so special, I will never forget it. A group size of 8 is perfect. I can't fault this fabulous trip at all.

Best Day Tour Sao Miguel

Hugo was absolutely amazing! We could not have had a better guide. His love for the Island and knowledge really came through. We even got some extra surprises. He was kind and so genuine. The tour was a perfect taste of the island. We got a good sense of what the island has to offer without being rushed. Food was amazing and the places we saw were incredible. This is my second time taking this tour and it is so worth it!

Great start to our trip. It was the perfect way to orient to the island, its history and ponta delgada. We were able to try many foods and see the market where locals shop for fresh fruit/veggies and fish. Walking was not strenuous at all. A very enjoyable first activity for our trip!

Must do to see a lot of the one side of Sao Miguel

Had a wonderful day with Elton. The van is comfortable and has AC, Elton uses a microphone so everyone can hear what he has to say regardless of where you sit. The buffet lunch was a highlight, we thought it was a wonderful experience to have some local food. Had some spectacular view point stops, as well as a couple short hikes. The only thing I would have changed was wearing different shoes, I had ON cloud tennis shoes on but they did not offer traction during the hikes.

Fantastic boat ride, lots of dolphins

When we booked this I thought we would be on a big boat, however when we got there it was sort of rubber dinghy sort of speedboat! (I’m sure it has a name) If I’d known I probably wouldn’t have booked it however I’m soo pleased I didn’t know as it was fantastic. We saw so many dolphins and felt closer to them as on smaller lower boat.. really sorry but I didn’t make a note of our hosts names, one was studying marine biology I believe and she was lovely, don’t know his name sterling the boat even tho they introduced themselves. Lunch was great, best tuna steak I’ve had here and my partner liked his steak. Time to swim to. Thoroughly recommend this trip!

This was Hands Down so fun and such a cool experience. If you’re in Terceira island please book this tour. You get to see so many cool things and amazing views. This part of the island is so cool with the forest and views for three other islands. Will definitely book this again when we come back.

Great experience - super fun.

Such a great experience and tour. First, it was a full 4 hour tour. No corners cut. We traveled paved roads, dirt roads and paths allowing us to see many aspects of the west side of Sao Miguel. We briefly stopped for snacks and restroom in a lovely town. . Our guide, friendly and gregarious, made sure we were safe and comfortable; he also offered helpful commentary/insight at various stops throughout the trip. He always took us to "just the right spot" at each stop, allowing for great vistas and outlooks. He took great pics of our family, for which we are grateful. Our "buggy" was clean and in great working order. If (when?!) we return to Sao Miguel, we will definitely do this tour again with this company! Super fun. Recommend highly. Tips: bring face protection (we wore bandanas / buffs) and sunglasses (or more) for eyes. Sometimes, dust gets kicked up if traversing dry roads. Also, wear / bring layers - can get a bit colder in some spots as cross island microclimates.

Great Experience

It seems like a family owned business which was really nice! The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. He made sure to check in with everyone a few times throughout just to make sure everyone was good and didn’t have questions. We had been to a few different viewpoints of Sete Cidades before doing this, but i think it’s still worth it! It’s a different experience than just driving and pulling over. Also, you get to explore different areas/top of viewpoints that would only be reachable by walking /hiking etc.
