Bucket List Experience
What an awesome experience! We were lucky enough to see orcas and numerous whales. We didn't see a full breach out of the water, but saw lots of tail flips. We also saw bald eagles and seals. The scenery is majestic even without all the wildlife. Captain Dalton was awesome, as was naturalist Kaelyn. We also had a beautiful, warm, and sunny day. On the way back to port, we also saw Mendenhall Glacier in the distance.

And a playful sea otter too!
Wonderful afternoon with Captain TJ and his mate. The small boat experience was the best. Husband (Navy 22 year veteran) says Captain has excellent boat handling skills which he used to take us into places larger ships couldn't go. Seats were higher up so that you had better sight of many animals. Shuttle bus great, convenient to ship.

Amazing Trip
We loved this excursion. The boat was very nice, well maintained and comfortable. The crew was amazing! Anika took pictures of the whales and shared with us so we could just enjoy seeing the whales in real time. We saw several whales and sea lions. Seeing the lighthouse and Mendenhall Glacier were added bonuses. Highly recommend!

Wonderful staff and the...
Wonderful staff and the perfect boat size for the amount of people on board. Everyone wanting to get pictures was able to. Cons: The filtered water system was not adequate for filling up multiple water bottles and the bathroom facility needed better ventilation.

Perhaps the most popular summer activity in Juneau, whale-watching is an absolute must for any visitor to the city. Though the fabulous creatures are here from April to November, the most splashing, breeching, and jumping happens from June to August—which just so happens to be when the sun is shining and Alaskan days are warm and long. From quick shore excursions to lengthy, private endeavors, all sorts of tours abound, which is lucky: Whale-watching in Juneau is some of the country’s best.
