What are people saying about Newport

Newport Neighborhood Food Tour

Ruth_B, Oct 2026

Excellent Food Tour!

I’ve been on several food tours around the world, and the Newport neighborhood tour has to be one of the tops! Our tour guide Erin was exceptional. She was informative and knowledgeable of the area and personable. The food selections on the tour were amazing. We also did the drink pairing, and loved those too. There wasn’t one tasting on the tour that we didn’t all love. Definitely recommend this food tasting

The other guests were very friendly and we really enjoyed every minute. Definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a fun experience!

Guided Tour of Newport in Open Air LSV

David_O, Oct 2026

Much better than a bus tour!

Kyle was a great guide, filled with local history, able to take us many places where a bus would not fit. Friendly, funny and helpful - even dropped us at an interesting local spot for lunch after the tour (Brick Alley Grill, I think). We could have gone back to tour the inside of one of the mansions, but didn’t want to fight the crowds. Fun day!

Afternoon Grand Tour | Gansett Cruises in Newport, RI

Excellent Experience

This was a fun experience even though it was rainy and cold during the ride. I was pleasantly surprised that the boat had a way to cover the sides so that it kept the rain and cold out while still offering a great view of the surroundings during the boat ride. The tour guide was entertaining and endearing and the service for the drinks was excellent. I would highly recommend! I'm sure this would be even more fun with nice weather.

When you book online, you...

When you book online, you will need to check in at the kiosk to obtain boarding passes. Plan a few minutes to get to the front of the line if you want to sit at the front outside area of the boat for unobstructed views and pictures. The tour narrator was very knowledgeable and funny. This was our first visit to Newport. We are so glad we took this tour.

Newport Sightseeing Day Sailing Experience on Schooner Adirondack

Despite limitations, sailing is best

It is wonderful to go on a sailing as opposed to motor tour, granted we were only able to beam reach for a short interval, the wind conditions not suitable for a tour with an itinerary and a time schedule, just to watch the crew actually SAIL the vessel was a real treat for someone whose experience of sailing is mainly limited to Sunfish and the like on inland waters. The crew were kind and charming; they certainly were enthusiastic about setting up the bar, I only wish my age and medical condition allowed me to thus gain further enjoyment from the journey. I only wish we could have seen more houses, but obviously we had a timetable, and were mostly becalmed throughout. Nevertheless I do not regret sailing at all--there is something magical about being on the water with no sound but that of the wind and waves, a timeless realm that disappears once the engine starts.

I went on a 7.30 pm cruise from the New Port. I wiith my boyfriend came here from Maryland on July 3rd 2026. We enjoyed the Bay cruise a lot. Watched sunset from the deck. There was a personal tour guide - very good. He talked about the local history in connection with US history. We are a silver-age couple and the guide was approximately our age. It was nice to see somebody knowing american and local history very well. Relaxed a lot!
