John was incredibly knowledgeable, entertaining and engaging! He prepped all before starting (get water!) and made sure everyone was aware of what was expected (from the guide and the guidees) before we got started. Absolutely appreciate how he acknowledged Ma. Laveau as the incredible woman she was. John was factual. He acknowledged lore and mythology about the area/people, yet kept a healthy sense of skepticism about them. Absolutely recommend!!

Kristi is a great tour guide. She gave us some NOLA history along with guiding us to various places. Very informative. All the tastings were good though personally I didn’t care for the alligator sausage. My favorite was the muffuletta sandwich. And walking in the heat is manageable because you’re really not going long distances between stops. Also several of the stops provided water.

Viator saved us over $40 on a family of 4 adults and 2 small children. We spent about 2.5 hrs touring the aquarium and insectarium. Pictures are taken as you enter, but can be purchased after the Insectarium with "bugs" background or after the aquarium with fish and sharks background. Pictures are $30. We enjoyed ourselves immensely!!

Rahsaan was our tour guide and he was so engaging and informative. We learned so many things about the rich culture of New Orleans. This is a MUST do! You will not be disappointed. We took our tour at 2:30PM. If you can scheduled your tour in the morning hours during the brutal heat of summer. They did have misting tents to alleviate some of the heat. Transportation over to the Swamp Tour was entertaining and comfortable. We were picked up in front of our hotel as scheduled and dropped off on time. Our transportation driver Lorraine was very informative about New Orleans history and took all questions about places to go and eat while we were visiting her city. I hope you get to ride with her! The Swamp Tour was fascinating! Captain Trey seemed to know about each of the alligators personalities, especially the one they named Crackhead. The Captain baited the alligators with marshmallows so we could get a closer look at them! I hope you do decide to go - well worth every dollar!!

Lovely and educational nature respite

Dewey was our airboat operator and guide. He was very knowledgeable and knew where the gators would be. We saw probably 25-30 gators, raccoons and an owl. He brought along his baby alligator and let everyone hold it. 🥰. Totally fun trip and worth the $$! The bus driver was super nice and told us a lot of history and pointed out many sights on the bus to the swamp. Highly recommend!

Recommended combined plantation & swamp tour that can be done in 1 day

Provided by Grayline tours Nee Orleans. Coach trip firstly to plantation - we chose Oak Alley. Lovely drive along the River Road. Plantation is great - actually had longer than we thought we’d get - 2.5 hrs. Had a timed entry tour of the ‘big’ house - took about 30 mins. Plenty of time to explore outer areas of the plantation, including the slave housing, the cafe is lovely & the gift shop worth a visit. Following this we were taken to the Cajun Pride Swamp tour company. Excellent swamp tour where we saw plenty of Alligators, Raccoons & Hogs. Our captain was brilliant - great humour & good knowledge of swamps. Our bus tour guide was lovely but we found the commentary a little difficult to follow as it was slightly disjointed & lacked clear flow. However, her knowledge was clear & we still learned a lot.
