From beginning to end it was an amazing experience. We were picked up by the chef, visited the local market to pick up our lunch ingredients. Once we got to the ocean front kitchen it was evident this was going to be an amazing experience. We made everything from scratch and then enjoyed a family style Italian dinner of what we prepared. Incredible authentic and fun experience!

We had the most INCREDIBLE time! We learned so much. Everything from how to know which fruits and vegetables to purchase and which fish to purchase and why as well as how to spot the farm raised fish in comparison to wild caught and how to recognize these things on a local menu! We then learned all about traditional Sicilian cuisine and its origins and how to properly prepare these different dishes! The pasta making was wonderful and the sun dried tomato pesto we made was DELICIOUS! Massimo changes the menu for each class to make sure it’s all in season and local which is such a unique and thoughtful approach. He was so energized and personable we enjoyed every single second learning from him!

Outstanding Tour! Fun, educational & delicious.

Alessandro was an amazing tour guide who knows so much about Mt Etna, but presents it in a way that kept our 10 & 13 yo boys engaged the whole time while we all learned. We loved seeing the lava flows, a lava vein cave and pole trekking on Mt Etna. The weather wasn’t the best the day of our trip but we were able to still do everything, miss most of the rain, find the sun and a little snow. Trekking on Mt Etna is like being in a magical other realm and my 10 yo really had a blast. The Sicilian products were also delicious and lunch at the Refugio was amazing. You shouldn’t miss the tour with Alessandro or Mt Etna during your time in Sicily, it’s a must do!

Bon appetite!

This is a hands on experience that is really enjoyable. It is a family owned business and they treat you like Family! They educated you on the Techniques in making the sauces and pasta and gave us the recipes too!! We had time to relax and enjoy some wine and cheese and bread in between the lessons. This is a must when visiting Taormina or Catania! Loved it!

Historical tour of Taormina and Castlemola

We had a beautiful day in November so Mt Etna was fully visible, along with all the lovely sights in Castlemola and Taormina. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable in the history of the area. We felt like we really filled the day! We also enjoyed tasting the local snack— which was a huge portion and very tasty. This is a very good historical tour.

Great Wine Tour!

What a great day exploring the Sicilian My Etna countryside! Our driver Marco was great! We first stopped at La Gelsomina, which we had already been to on a previous tour, but it was still great. We were able to try different wines than tasted on the previous visit. Next we visited a small winery, Antichi Vini do Sicilia, where we toured the small wine making shop and then went upstairs to learn about the different wines and had a lovely lunch outside overlooking the sea. We sampled 4 different wines including a dessert almond wine. We also enjoyed the delicious antipasto, eggplant Parmesan pasta, and dessert. Lastly, we visited Nero winery which had lovely views of Mt Etna and enjoyed a small antipasto platter and samples 3 lovely wines. It was interesting to learn about grapes grown in the region that I have never heard of before. Great tour and a must do for wine lovers!

An offer you shouldn’t refuse

When you are about to spend your day with 6 complete strangers and a guide anything can happen, and usually does. Ultimately, whether you enjoy your tour or not comes down to two things, your guide and the company behind the tour. In this case, starting with the touring company, I had every confidence this would meet or exceed my expectations and I was not disappointed. The communication regarding every component of the tour was not only timely, but extremely accurate and very professional. I would not hesitate to consider them for any other experience going forward. My wife is a self proclaimed Godfather freak, she has seen the films over 100 times (except #3, no one could sit through that one that many times) and has had this tour on her bucket list for the last 7 years when we first saw Taormina while in a cruise. She can recite almost the entire dialog of 1 and 2 verbatim so she was going to be a hard one to impress. Orazio, our guide for the tour, was more than up to the task. Not only did he impress our entire group, but we all learned so many things that were completely foreign to us, even though the first film is now over 50 years old. To be able to have my wife tell me all the things she didn’t know was the most impressive thing I heard in our 50 years of marriage! Well done Orazio.
