A very enjoyable experience! Alex was a very knowledgeable guide and great company. We experienced various aspects of Etna & loved the passion for volcanology that Alex shared with us. Alex is an awesome guide! Results are in, and Alex is the smartest and most entertaining guide on the mountain. He is very passionate and knowledgeable about volcanoes. He provided a lot of information, took pictures for us, and answered our questions. We had the best time and highly recommend this tour with Alex.

I am so happy I decided to book my tour with Lady Etna Tours. Alex came and picked me up and then we headed to our first stop. In the car he shared his knowledge about volcanos so by the time we reached our 1st stop, I knew everything about volcanos that I needed to know! Alex is a fantastic host and guide. His knowledge and passion for volcanos is second to none. Alex also made sure I had a great experience while focusing on safety at the same time. After the volcano tour, I had a nice lunch and tasting at Gambino winery. Without a doubt, I would highly recommend booking this tour, you won't be disappointed!

If you want to have a tour with someone who is passionate beyond belief about volcanoes then Alexandru is your guide. He has an incredible knowledge that I have never experienced towards volcanoes. He told us he travels to volcanoes on every one of his vacations. That is the type of passion he has for them. The winery is also fantastic from the views to the wine to the amazing food pairings.

From volcano to vineyard

A fabulous trip with our guide Alex. What Alex doesn’t know about Etna and volcanoes in general isn’t worth knowing. Alex entertained us with his knowledge of volcanoes and local folk law. The hike along the craters was pretty straightforward and whilst walking boots weren’t necessary they were a great help, you could get away with trainers with a good grip. We wore shorts and T-shirts as the weather was very mild but took an extra layer or two just in case. The wine tasting was fabulous too. We tested 5 wines at this family run winery and the wines to our surprise were paired with cheeses, meats, a main course and a desert! A fabulous day out that I would highly recommend.

Alex was an excellent tour guide and the entire tour was fantastic to learning about Mount Etna and its volcanic history to the amazing late lunch we had at the winery that he took us too. Overall, an excellent tour and highly recommend it especially if you are traveling with friends.

Alex was a great guide. He was extremely knowledgeable about Mt Etna. He was very helpful as we walked. The hike was not strenuous but one must not have any mobility issues. The Gambino winery was in a beautiful setting and gave a great amounts of food and wines. The experience was one of the highlights of our two week trip in Sicily.

This tour was thoroughly enjoyable and extremely informative. Our guide Alex made the experience memorable with his vast knowledge of Mount Etna and volcanos all over the world. His passion for the subject is contagious and I wouldn’t want any other guide for this type of tour because of his warm personality. He was also very attentive to our individual needs in the group and helped make sure I descended safely from the hiking portion as I wore the wrong sneakers. Advice to fellow travelers: wear sneakers with sufficient tread to prevent sliding on small rocks/gravel, bring a hat and light jacket, wear sunscreen, bring a bottle of water. The wine tasting was also fabulous in every way-wine, service and food. Overall this was the highlight of our stay in Taormina and we HIGHLY recommend you book this particular tour. Many thanks to Alex!!!

Alex had a great deal of knowledge on volcanoes and Sicily he shared. It was have been great to dive more into the wider history of the islands and diversify the information. Gambino winery was excellent and they were generous with food and wine, but ren minutes to have an espresso outside after a meal and enjoy the grounds would have been appreciated. Lastly, please include the inclusions on the trip in the booking like F&B as we all packed snacks and share an itinerary with timings once we are all on board

Spectacular views with just the right amount of hiking for us. The wine tasting experience at Gambino was the best ever. Our guide, Alex, must have had a PhD in volcanology because he knew everything about Mt. Etna and other ones around the world. He made the mountain come alive. Highly recommend this tour experience.

Mountain, Caves and Wine terrace exploration

We had the best time on this tour .. the communication prior to the tour was good with Tiziana! On the day we met Alex our guide for the day ! A man who is so passionate on all things volcanoes, kind and cared to ensure all in the group had a good experience! We started driving up the mountain and stoping for a quick Espressos and then went trough a cave and then we went hiking the crater .. hiking shoes and walking sticks were provided plus helmet for the caves! What a lovely day .. sun shining and snow and fresh air with a fun and knowledgeable and a guide who took safety seriously! Hey guys ..🤓 also we then finished off with an amazing wine tasting of 6 beautiful wines plus lunch ! No Complains here as refills of good and wine were given .. 10/10 tour .. thank you 🙏

An outstanding trip in a clean minivan. A highly educational tour down a lava tunnel followed by a mild trek to some of Etnas lower cones to understand the impact of Etna on local life and the fascinating geology and geomorphology of the area. Alex was a brilliant guide and this tour is very definitely highly recommended. Lunch and wine tasting was a lovely culinary experience and one of the best meals I have had in Sicily. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

The tour was wonderful . Andrea , our guide was super knowledgeable!!. Andrea make the tour very interesting teaching us the history of mount etna from early discovery to modern times .
