Thank you Crystal!

This was a great tour! We were initially pretty concerned that this would be a tourist trap (and at some points it did feel like that), but we were very pleasantly surprised at how unique and cool this tour was. The highlights were definitely the overlook point where we could see the Korean and North Korean facilities in the DMZ, and the 3rd tunnel, which we got to walk into. These were very cool experiences, worth the day trip to the DMZ. Our tour guide, Crystal, we funny and helped to lighten the mood despite the heavy subject matter of the tour. We thought she was a really wonderful guide.

This was a very informative tour, learning about the history between North Korea and South Korea was definitely worthwhile. The views from the suspension bridge were breathtaking and the 3rd tunnel was such an experience. Our English speaking tour guide was Simba, she was fantastic, very helpful, full of knowledge and she made the trip interesting and added in some humour as well. So I would highly recommend asking for Simba as your tour guide.

Yoon was an awesome guide! I highly recommend his tour. He had options to accommodate for food restrictions, he taught us interesting things about Korean culture, answered our million questions, taught us a game, and he shared Korean life through the food. You could tell he was passionate and he truly made the experience so fun and interesting! This is also a great way to try things out so you have a good foundation of what to eat while you visit Korea while also having the opportunity to get a little bit out of your comfort zone!

5 Stars because the actual tour and our guide, Joo ee, were great and I didn’t want to lower star rating to reflect upon her. However, I really wanted to go about 3.5 stars. We had very clearly requested hotel pickup. In the app when we booked there was a dropdown list that didn’t include our hotel, and an option for no pickup at all. But then there was a line to add your hotel. So we selected the closest location to our hotel and then added our hotel in the designated slot. Everything on our end said that’s where pickup would be. But the day before we got the text that we would have to be picked up at a nearby metro station. I messaged back, included screenshots showing the hotel pick up on our confirmation (in 2 locations). Ultimately we were offered other options, but it was clear they took no responsibility for neglecting to carefully review our reservation. Also, the ad for the tour indicates a 7:30am tour start… oh no, we had a 6:05 am pickup at a metro station. We were up before 5 am to have time to get ready & catch the metro to be sure to be on time. Again, the tour was good. The vehicles used were in good condition and there was sufficient free time to not feel rushed.

Great history lesson.

Won -our driver- was fantastic!! He communicated well, was prompt, and very knowledgeable. We did a private tour and he stayed with us the entire time. He explained what we needed to know beforehand. That being said the tour itself was very interesting. I am sorry they no longer take you to JSA but going i to the tunnel was very cool. It is quite steep- so coming up was a challenge- my hubby has bad knees so he stayed behind. Would highly recommend this tour - especially if you can request Won.
