Outstanding Tour and an Exceptional Guide – Kim Made the Day!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Tour and an Exceptional Guide – Kim Made the Day!
Our day trip to Mt. Seorak, Nami Island, and the Garden of Morning Calm was fantastic, and a big part of that was our guide, Kim (Seongbae Kim).
From the very beginning, Kim was organized and professional. He sent clear instructions the evening before, including the meeting location, weather forecast, itinerary, and helpful tips so everyone knew exactly what to expect.
Throughout the day, Kim made us feel safe and well taken care of. The transportation was smooth, the schedule was well managed, and he got our group to every destination efficiently while allowing enough time to enjoy each stop.
What really stood out was how informative he was. As we traveled, he shared interesting facts about Korean history, culture, and the significance of each destination. His explanations gave much more meaning to the beautiful scenery and helped us appreciate the places we visited beyond just taking photos.
Kim was friendly, approachable, and happy to answer questions throughout the tour. His calm, professional demeanor made the entire experience enjoyable and stress-free.
If you’re considering this Viator tour, I highly recommend it—and if you’re fortunate enough to have Kim as your guide, you’re in excellent hands. He truly helped make this one of the highlights of my trip to South Korea.

Unique opportunity for connection
My wonderful guide, Ron, gave a master class in rolling with the punches. As any experienced traveler knows, even the best plans can go awry in unexpected ways, and the trick is to make the best of things. Ron did just that, giving me instead an unexpectedly wonderful opportunity for connection and nostalgia.
First of all, I ended up being the only person on the tour. The itinerary includes a picnic and games, which could have been awkward, indeed, with just one person. But Ron is a brilliant conversationalist, and we spent the picnic happily enjoying our fried chicken and chatting. When it came time for the games, Ron was quite patient with my lack of hand-eye coordination, making the games fun and entirely amusing to me. (Pro tip - bring close-toed shoes for the games.)
Our next unexpected surprise was that the cruise was cancelled for the night because during the storm the night before, the dam had been released, and the water levels were too high to operate safely. Again, Ron rolled with it. I had told him about my time in Seoul in my 20s and the peace I had found by the Han River, and so Ron really went above and beyond and took me to a cafe with a gorgeous view of the river where we could enjoy the breeze and maybe sort of almost pretend we were on the water. And again, we were able to enjoy a really nice chat and a genuine moment to connect.
This was not the tour that I expected to have, but it was something really special and unique instead.

Must-do tour!
Very interesting tour, well worth the time! Our pleasant and cheerful guide Hazel kept everything running efficiently and kept us informed of the schedule, timings and especially the change of itinerary when a traffic accident blocked the road to the observatory. I booked the option with the defector Q&A which was touching. Please note that the visit to the 3rd tunnel is more arduous than it sounds, and you should be in good shape to go down and back. The tour gives a lot of background info and history of the Korean conflict, but doesn’t overdo it. The highlight for me was peering into the binoculars and actually seeing village people inside the DPRK.

Palace visit
Great understanding of the Korean history and culture. I wish we would have rented the costumes to walk around the palace grounds- although the people wearing the garments looked pretty hot.
Overall, great experience and the communication was not an issue.
Thanks

DMZ tour
Amazing experience travelling around the DMZ with Winnie, the best tour guide. Humbling experience and incredible to see North Korea, the 3rd Tunnel and the swinging bridge. Does include a small hike and walking in confined spaces in the Tunnel but well worth booking with Winnie.

Spooky & Beautiful
Shawn tailored the tour to our interests since we were a small group and gave us bonus stories from personal experiences. The palace grounds at night were spooky and beautiful. He did a great job of setting the mood and giving us cultural context for his stories. Apparently other tour group members have reported supernatural experiences during the tour, so if you're hoping to see a real ghost there might be a chance!

Nami Island Day Tour + others
Great tour with Harry, who was very informative and took the time to make sure we knew the itinerary. Got to see lots of places and thoroughly enjoyed exploring Nami Island at our leisure! He also took us to a chicken dakgalbi lunch spot which was delicious. Highly recommend, and Harry was a great tour guide.

Want a fun evening with...
Want a fun evening with Chris exploring where the locals go for great food in Seoul. Eating live octopus for the first time was a cool experience although not everyone in the group tried it and the shave ice dessert was so good we went back the next night for more.

A Refreshing Day and Helpful in Returning Lost Items
This was a wonderful day out for some greenery and open sky! The strawberries and waffles were a real treat, and the lunch spot was delicious. Our guide David was knowledgeable of what flowers were in bloom, and made suggestions for the best spots to see in the gardens. They are expansive grounds, and so it's important to prioritize which places you'd like to see. David was a wonderful guide, making each of our stops a smooth and enjoyable experience.
He really went above and beyond in my case, helping to return my bag when I left it behind after the tour. Another traveler told me an attempt was even made to run after me after my drop-off! Alas, it was too late to catch me, but through helpful and clear communication, I was able to get my bag back the next day.

We had a wonderful time...
We had a wonderful time on our half-day city tour! Our guide, Kelly, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, sharing great insights that made each stop even more enjoyable. I captured some amazing photos that I’ll always treasure.
Our final stop was a pleasant surprise, it’s a place we probably wouldn’t have discovered on our own, and I’m so glad we did. I learned so much about the different types of ginseng and even picked some up to take home. Overall, it was a fun, informative, and memorable experience that I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting.
