What are people saying about Porto

Thanks Adriano!
This trip was even better than the description explains!!! We got to see 3 different waterfalls, had the cutest family-style lunch in the countryside with such a diverse selection of food, and we got to tour the old village up in the mountains. Our tour guide Adriano was fantastic, his English was perfect and he made sure everyone was safe and comfortable the duration of the trip. We came across some inclimate weather and even so I would do the trip 100x over.

The highlight of our trip to Portugal!
What an amazing day! The Douro Valley is stunningly beautiful and a “must-see” for anyone visiting Porto. I had to close my eyes a few times on the drive because of the heights; however, I always felt safe and supported with our superb driver and guide, Tiago. He was the perfect guide - friendly, informative, considerate and caring, and very funny. Every experience and visit that we had on the tour was well planned & organized and thoroughly enjoyable. All the food and wine/port was delicious! I highly recommend this tour.

A different, local experience
Unexpected! The driver drove the 4x4 along gnarly roads in a hilly area (not fabulously scenic but truly gnarly!) to a terrific viewpoint over metro Porto. Then, a stop at a truly local cafe for a quaff. Felt very personal and genuine. Just enough hair raising ride.

Winery tour / Lunch / Boat tour
It's our first time in Porto and hopefully wouldn't be our last. I highly recommend this tour 10/10. The people from Oporto Road Trips were very swift with communicating with me regarding changes in the itinerary. They provided clear information about our driver, plate number / type of car and all information for pick up/drop off. Our driver / tour guide, Marcio, was very prompt and arrived at 8:05 am for hotel pick up and got us back exactly at 5:30 pm, which was mentioned in the itinerary. He drove us to a quaint town, Amarante to see the church, views of the river and the little town. He then drove us to 3 different wineries that included a sommelier educating us about the history / wine production, diff kinds of wines and we were also asked to enter an old wine barrel if we liked! We also went to a restaurant for a traditional portuguese lunch that included red / white wine, espresso, meat marinated with port wine, lamb with potatoes/carrots, beans and sausage and white rice. The boat tour was amazing as well, the views are stunning! A must see. He was also very knowledgable about the city of Porto, Villa Real, Amarante, Douro and he was also able to show us some sceneries for good photography spots. He also drove us safely and smoothly throughout!!

Ringed by UNESCO-listed rivers, valleys, vineyards, and beaches, Porto is the gateway to some of Northern Portugal’s most sought-after natural sights. Guided Porto day trips reveal lesser-known parts of Portugal—including far-flung villages and towns home to medieval monasteries, Baroque churches, and quaint waterways—and allow you to indulge in the region's world-famous wine without worrying about driving afterward. Plus, Porto’s close proximity to the Spanish border means you can even visit an entirely different country without having to learn the ins and outs of its transit system.
