This was one of the best experiences of my two weeks in Portugal, and our guide João was by far the best guide I had on the entire trip. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Portugal and the areas we visited, while also being so friendly and easy to talk to.
The suspension bridge was our first stop, and as someone who is afraid of heights, it was a little scary at first—but it ended up being one of my favorite parts of the day. Even with some rain, the Paiva Walkways were absolutely beautiful. We then had a lovely traditional Portuguese lunch before ending the day in the charming fishing town of Aveiro. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Porto!

Joao (Costa) was our fabulous guide on this trip. A superb bridge walk and hike, then on to an interesting canal ride through the history of Aveiro.

We had a great time exploring towns outside of Porto! Our guide, Costa, was THE BEST!! We enjoyed learning about Portugal and all of the places we experienced. Costa was a wonderful Portuguese ambassador!!!

Great day full of adventure. Amazing views, beautiful landscape. The suspension bridge, walkways, and city stops were all great!

Fabulous tour! Our guide Tomas was great, very knowledgeable and entertaining. The lunch was amazing, everything was brilliant. Highly recommended.

Fantastic tour lots of free time and lots of information about Portuguese history. The suspension bridge was amazing and the walk was beautiful. Wear proper shoes and bring water. Would do again without hesitation.

This was an amazing well organised trip from start to finish. The views from the suspension bridge and Paiver walkways were spectacular and the downhill 4K walk was well worth it. The sand dunes, beach and sea at Costa Nova were breathtaking and we wish we had had longer to explore and have a swim. Aveiro was very pretty and the gondola ride around the canals and town were both relaxing and enjoyable.
Our guide Costa was outstanding, very knowledgeable, friendly and informative. He went out of his way to make sure this was a memorable experience, thank you Costa for a great day which we would highly recommend 😊

What an amazing time! The suspension bridge was fun, but the walkways are just beautiful by the river. We really enjoyed our day out! The only thing I would say that they could improve upon was the lunch options. The food just wasn’t that good, but we really enjoyed the company of our tour group and had a great day out! Highly recommend!

The bridge and walkway were fun and the guides were very friendly and accommodating. The lunch provided at a local restaurant was also tasty and filling. My one critic is that the tour dragged on a bit at the end with two trips to small towns for a few hours and we didn’t get back until 6pm, so in total about a 10-11 hour day. But I would still recommend the trip.

This was a great away to see smaller and bigger towns and attractions. Our guide Costa, was kind, funny and really understood how to “read the room” inserting great bits of knowledge with fun stories. Would definitely recommend!

It's great. The suspension bridge isn't for the faint hearted, but is 100% safe. Take walking shoes for the stairs and walkways, but the views are worth the effort.

This is a long day with a lot of walking, good trainers or hiking shoes are a must. Bring water with you. The views on the way to each location are amazing as is the valley as you do the walkways. We had Danny as our guide and he was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and interactive with the 8 of us in the van.

Very busy day. Wear good footwear. Lots to see. Steep hills to walk so be prepared. Very worthwhile tour.

Everything about this was fantastic! The early pickup was the hardest part for me, not because of the time, but because Porto isn't "awake" by 730 (including no breakfast at my accommodation). We did stop for about 10 minutes prior to arriving at the bridge, but a little more time would be helpful for those of us who needed to eat and grab a coffee to start the day. The drive, the suspension bridge, the Paiva walk--all totally great. Lunch was easy and delicious in a no-frills family owned type place (choices were pork, patinga (sardines), or a wonderful omelet for us vegetarians), with fries ("chips"), rice and plentiful water and green wine. Off for a quick stop in Calcado (the stripe house town) and then onto about 90 minutes in Aveiro. Personally, I would have been fine skipping Calcado for more time in Aveiro, but I know people like to see the ocean and the "insta worthy" houses. I am utterly mortified I cannot remember our guide's name, but he was fabulous--the right amount of chatty v. quiet, filled us in every step of the way, respected our need to nap in the van, etc. The other only suggestion I have would be to keep bottles of water in the van as a super nice bonus touch. I'm glad this trip was a small group (though we sort of caravanned with 3 other vans) because a larger vehicle on some of those roads would be nauseating. Opa!

There’s a lot more driving on this tour than anticipated. There were lots of winding roads, as well. It was great walking the suspension bridge; the highlight.

This experience is an amazing day out! Our guide Ricardo was extremely kind and easy to talk to and he went above and beyond to make sure we had a great day. The bridge was so cool and the view was breathtaking. I would definitely recommend!

A fun adventure with lots of steps. All of the guides were friendly, but Jay made the adventure unforgettable. I did not expect to get so much Portuguese history in addition to the bridge. Then you get a wonderful 3.7k walk that is stunning and not too hard.
You hit 2 different towns, plenty of time to explore, eat and drink if you want.
This was a good experience overall, but I have to say our guide Jay made it so fun and engaging. Talking history, politics (without a side) funny stories. Made the adventure personal and unforgettable.

What a fantastic experience! Not only were the places we visited beautiful and super enjoyable but our tour guide, Danny, was super informative. The suspension bridge was a fun and thrilling experience and the Paiva Walkway had stunning scenery. Walking in the forest, beside the river, rapids, and waterfall felt almost meditative. The stop in Costa Nova was a welcome little treat of sunshine, sand dunes and the cutest little ice cream shop. Our lunch was thoroughly enjoyable at a small little local restaurant - authentic and welcoming. Aveiro was a treat at the end of our day. Walking the canals and little shops was enjoyable - and our friends also took the boat ride and found it to be informative and fun. Danny again gave the best recommendations for the stores of where to find the best selection of salt products, tripas, and what loop to walk to get the most from our time there. Our trip would not have been the same without Danny, from the start of the day to the very end, he kept our whole group of 8 engaged in conversation and gave us a ton of information on each different area that we visited. For reference, our group was made up of two families, including two sets of parents and four teenagers - and we all loved it! Thank you Danny for an amazing day - we would all highly recommend this tour.

Fun day seeing lots outside Porto. Jay was a great guide, informative and friendly. Loved the suspension bridge and walks through the day. Lunch was delicious - highly recommend this tour.

Day was amazing. Guide Dan was just amazing. Be prepared for the walk! Ups and down and long. The extra stops in a few cities just a great time on the way back.
jody_M, May 2026
We had some rain, but the suspension bridge was still amazing as were the views! Our lunch was very good and the 2 cities we visited were also very nice! Jay our tour guide did sn amazing job!
Sarah_H, May 2026
It’s a long day. You need to be physically strong as there’s a lot of walking. Wear good walking shoes and dress in layers.
Pamela_P, Apr 2026
Awesome!! Our guide was amazing!! Learned a lot about the area and he was a great driver! I felt very safe!
Karen_M, Apr 2026
This has to be one of the best tours we have ever been on. Our tour guide “J” was so knowledgeable and friendly. Everyone on our minibus got on so well and by the end of the day we had all made new friends. The activities on the tour were so varied. The suspension bridge was a particular highlight. There is a lot of walking involved but we were fine with that. Then in the afternoon we even had a walk on the beach which we hadn’t expected. If you’re going to Porto you should definitely book this trip.

Danny was the best tour guide. He gave us heaps of local information as well as the basic history. He made the day great fun for the whole bus lond of us!
Sara_B, Apr 2026
It is a wonderful, beautiful but long down hill walk. Happy I did it though. Our guide was supportive and lovely, as were my fellow passengers. I like that the group was small. The lunch was also delicious!
Barry_C, Apr 2026
Costa was an excellent tour guide. We thoroughly enjoyed his insights and local knowledge. It was a fun day.
Suresh_V, Apr 2026

lunch was also very traditional and excellent
Katrina_C, Apr 2026
What a great experience! We had a wonderful lunch in a small town. Canal boat ride as well to finish the day.
Jan_H, Apr 2026
Great tour with a charming young tour leader. The bridges were fun, but my favorite paart was the 4 km long walkway. Not only wa it pretty but also peaceful being in contact with nature. Finishing off the day with a gondola ride was a terrific experience.
Faith_P, Apr 2026
Tomas was our tour guide. He was awesome!! Very knowledgeable and kept us entertained all throughout the tour. Definitely recommend this activity to anyone who’s looking for more adventure/outdoorsy things to do while in Porto. The suspension bridge was my favorite but the costa nova visit also was very nice— would love to spend there even longer.
