Josue has been the absolute best tour guide and wheelman! The mountains are a short 20 minute drive away, with little surprises in between. If you like nature and a thrill, this is the perfect tour. The offload trails are incredible. We had so much fun.

Ricardo was our guide for this day. He was extremely knowledgeable and took very good care of us on our day trip to the mountains. We loved off roading in the mountains to see the Eucalyptus trees. The little village we went to was lovely and was able to experience the local culture. We would 1,000% recommend this tour if you’re in Porto

Wonderful time with Joshua in this off road tour. It was great to get out of the city, to see some mountain life and the views were exceptional. Learned so much of Portuguese history and culture. The ride was also very exhilarating! Thank you. We would highly recommend this tour.

I highly recommend this activity, It was so much fun and beautiful! Josué was an amazing guide and he was so nice to my son that kept thanking me for taking him in this tour! Josué also has such a great playlist that made a difference and also the place we stopped for a drink was just so charming. I just have good things to say, just do it :)

My husband and I took this trip at the beginning of June and it was just the two of us in the Landrover with Ricardo. We had a fabulous four hours being shown the true and natural Portugal. We learned a lot and Ricardo is passionate about the area he has lived in all his life.
We started at the oldest biscuit and bread bakery which was great, as was the village and church. We then went up into the hills on rough tracks and saw the old gold mines which were fascinating. Ricardo pointed out cork trees and explained the harvesting. The drive itself was fun and interesting with several view points - just wait for the “roller coaster”!
We finished with a visit to an almost deserted hamlet on the El Camino and listened to the frogs singing in the river - there were literally thousands of tiny froglets emerging from the river and crossing the road (we were lucky to see this seasonal activity). Then on to a drink at a rustic cafe where we met locals cooking lunch on an open fire while the cats looked on with hope.
My husband who generally doesn’t like trips decided it was the best trip he had ever been on.
Before the trip Ricardo sent text messages to us regarding meeting him at the dock gate and we found him with no trouble. A week after we got back home he followed up with another text message to send us photos and wish us well. We wish him well also for the future.
Definitely recommend this trip if you want to see a piece of genuine Portugal without the crowds.

It was awesome. Ricardo was an excellent driver and tour guide for our excursion. He picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel which was very convenient. There were just 6 of us including Ricardo which led to friendly conversation and making it a fun event.

Was the adult family favorite tour. Joshua (spelling?) our guide was so nice, informative and funny. The music selection was perfect for the ride. The stops along the way (cookie factory, 6 population village and drink stop were great. The ride was fun with the too down. Great getaway from the city for a few hours.

We did 5 tours in 5 days, Duoro Valley Wine, Tuk Tuk Tour Lisbon, Sintra, Duoro River Sunset Cruise, but this was by far our best trip!! Ricardo is very knowledgeable, gives you an in-depth understanding of the area, the mines, types of plants and you will get the best views in Portugal. His wealth of the local neighborhood came through and his kindness was appreciated. This is a must, explore the land via a true 4x4 experience!!

Unexpected! The driver drove the 4x4 along gnarly roads in a hilly area (not fabulously scenic but truly gnarly!) to a terrific viewpoint over metro Porto. Then, a stop at a truly local cafe for a quaff. Felt very personal and genuine. Just enough hair raising ride.

Ricardo was friendly, chatty and hospitable. He was punctual and extremely knowledgable of the area and locals. If you enjoy history, nature and getting away from the rush of busy life - this is the perfect excursion to go on. I’ve never seen a Land Rover driven so well!

This is run by the owner. It is exceptional and besides seeing great views, you are treated to the local flavor of the region. Ricardo, was a wonderful host and driver. I cannot recommend this more. We had a fantastic time, ate regional cookies, drank regional wine, and met a countryside worth seeing.

Josue and his partner were very communicative prior to the tour because of weather consigns but all worked out well !!
We were taken out of the city to the mountains within minutes. First stop was to a local cookie factory owned by generations of the same family! We got treats and Josue bought us a gift! We felt special! Then it was off to the mountains!!!!! We leaned about the Romans and gold mining- and the deep caverns that mining resulted in. fascinating!!! He also educated us on the importance of “balance” in foresting eucalyptus trees. The views from the top were spectacular! We also got to walk through a tiny, self sustained village-what a wonderful setting! To end the trip we sat awarming locals and had a drink.
Can’t forget highlight the jeep!!! The ride in his jeep was so fun!!! It’s not the same if you don’t scream !!!! Josue loves what he does and takes good care! It’s not daily that you get to speed (carefully) down a mountainside in a jeep!!!!

We did the 4x4 tour with Ricardo, and it was honestly one of the best activities we’ve ever done! Ricardo was extremely kind and attentive – he picked us up right in the city centre and drove us out to the area, making sure the whole experience was interactive. He shared history and stories about the place, answered all of our questions, and even offered delicious cookies (included for everyone).
The highlight was definitely the thrilling uphill and downhill drive with the 4x4 – Ricardo is a fantastic driver, and it was exciting and fun for all of us, even if we had all different ages. The whole tour was perfectly balanced between adventure, local insights, and moments to just enjoy the ride. It’s the kind of activity that makes you smile the whole time and leaves you wanting to do it again.
The tour ends with a refreshing drink and the ride back, which was the perfect way to finish.
Highly recommended – entertaining and unforgettable!
