This is run by the owner. It is exceptional and besides seeing great views, you are treated to the local flavor of the region. Ricardo, was a wonderful host and driver. I cannot recommend this more. We had a fantastic time, ate regional cookies, drank regional wine, and met a countryside worth seeing.

Ricardo was friendly, chatty and hospitable. He was punctual and extremely knowledgable of the area and locals. If you enjoy history, nature and getting away from the rush of busy life - this is the perfect excursion to go on. I’ve never seen a Land Rover driven so well!

omg! what a amazing tour. Josue was fantastic and fun. we loved how exciting it was going up and down the mountain. and the little bar was awesome! I highly recommend this tour and will do it again when we come back to Porto.

Josue and his partner were very communicative prior to the tour because of weather consigns but all worked out well !!
We were taken out of the city to the mountains within minutes. First stop was to a local cookie factory owned by generations of the same family! We got treats and Josue bought us a gift! We felt special! Then it was off to the mountains!!!!! We leaned about the Romans and gold mining- and the deep caverns that mining resulted in. fascinating!!! He also educated us on the importance of “balance” in foresting eucalyptus trees. The views from the top were spectacular! We also got to walk through a tiny, self sustained village-what a wonderful setting! To end the trip we sat awarming locals and had a drink.
Can’t forget highlight the jeep!!! The ride in his jeep was so fun!!! It’s not the same if you don’t scream !!!! Josue loves what he does and takes good care! It’s not daily that you get to speed (carefully) down a mountainside in a jeep!!!!

Even though it was rainy and drizzled most of the day we had a great time. Our tour guides made sure we were picked up on time, had umbrellas and were just great at everything and provided us with so much information about the area. Could not have asked for a better excursion.

We did the 4x4 tour with Ricardo, and it was honestly one of the best activities we’ve ever done! Ricardo was extremely kind and attentive – he picked us up right in the city centre and drove us out to the area, making sure the whole experience was interactive. He shared history and stories about the place, answered all of our questions, and even offered delicious cookies (included for everyone).
The highlight was definitely the thrilling uphill and downhill drive with the 4x4 – Ricardo is a fantastic driver, and it was exciting and fun for all of us, even if we had all different ages. The whole tour was perfectly balanced between adventure, local insights, and moments to just enjoy the ride. It’s the kind of activity that makes you smile the whole time and leaves you wanting to do it again.
The tour ends with a refreshing drink and the ride back, which was the perfect way to finish.
Highly recommended – entertaining and unforgettable!

We had a blast riding thru the mountains with Ricardo! We really enjoyed spending time with him - such a nice man and so pleasant to speak with. One of the stops we did during the tour was to take a look at old mine shafts - crazy that there are still so many that are open on the mountain. Really glad they were marked and roped off - would've been a long way down!
Highly recommend this tour. The views were spectacular looking down on Porto!

This is an awesome side trip while in Porto! Josue is a fantastic guide and driver, navigating the mountains over Porto with ease and curating a trip that was tons of fun. He found the balance of this obviously being FOR tourists, without feeling like a tourist trap sort of excursion. There were lots of lovely local touches that made this a unique trip that was a fun 4x4 adventure but also a glimpse into life slightly outside the city - to life in a tiny mountain village.

This was a perfect ending to our Portugal experience! This was such a fantastic experience! Ricardo, born and bred in Porto, was the perfect host to learn from an out about “green” wine, the families living here for generations, and the mine and forests of this beautiful country. Not to mention being Indiana Jones in a grand adventure riding a 4x4 on the bumpy terrain. Two thumbs up and perfect for kids and families 👍🏼

This jeep mountain excursion was hands-down my kids’ favorite part of our entire two-week trip! From the moment they hopped in the back of the jeep, they were grinning ear to ear. They especially loved being able to stand on the seats and feel the wind and bumps as we zipped down the hills — such an exhilarating experience for them!
Josue was an incredibly skilled and professional guide and driver — we felt completely safe and comfortable the whole time. He made the ride thrilling without ever compromising safety. Even my 75-year old mom had a fun time, and trusted the driver!
The scenery was absolutely stunning, the ride was exciting, and the joy on my kids’ faces made it absolutely unforgettable. In addition to the jeep tour, we loved the cookies at the old bakery and wine verde at the local bar.
Highly recommend this tour to families looking to add a little adventure to their vacation in Porto!

Me and my partner did an afternoon trip with Josue and had a brilliant time. Josue is incredibly knowledgeable about the area, and the trip he takes you on has some beautiful scenery and it offers a nice break from the hustle and bustle of Porto’s City centre. The trip lasts just over 3 hours we couldn’t recommend it enough to anyone looking for a trip out for afternoon.

We were very lucky to have the informative and welcoming Ricardo as our guide who spoke amazing English which is helpful as we are English visitors.
A lot more is included than expected, with a tour to one of the oldest cookie shops in Porto (free samples) and ended the day with a drink in the local bar.
Could not recommend more, well worth the money.

We had an amazing adventure with Josue through the mountains of Porto. He was kind, fun, and made us feel completely safe even on the rugged terrain. The Jeep itself was super cool—being able to stand up and take in a full 360° view of Porto made the experience unforgettable. We captured some incredible photos and videos of the scenery.
