I am so glad we did a private tour with Rui. It was incredibly informative and interesting!! Our driver and guide Slimy were both excellent. Slimy was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable, keep our group entertained throughout the trip. Highlight of my trip to Porto

The Douro valley is otherworldly in it's beauty, and this small group tour was wonderful. There were 7 of us, plus our fabulous driver, Anna. She negotiated the winding roads and brought us to two smaller vineyards to sample wines and have a hearty lunch. Oh, and there's a boat ride on the river, too.

Glorious day in the Douro Valley

This tour with Miguel was fantastic. He was waiting for the group at least 30 minutes early which was nice. He explained the tour before we started and as we drove to the valley he provided much information about the area’s history and geography. He was very knowledgeable and quite fascinating. The views were spectacular the entire day. We visited 2 wineries and learned a great deal about port making. The wines were delicious and the lunch was varied and excellent. Hospitality was superb. The hour boat trip was relaxing, informative and again the views were superb. A wonderful day and a highlight of our trip for sure. The other people on the tour were also a lot of fun. I highly recommend this tour with Miguel, a true professional..

Wonderful tour of beautiful city!

Victor was an excellent guide, balancing interesting information about all that we passed with time for us to go and explore a bit on our own at each stop. We felt very safe in the vehicle and the communication beforehand was excellent so we knew when and where to meet, due to an unexpected delay. Victor was kind and very knowledgeable about the city and you could tell he truly cares for sharing the stories and history of the area.

The Absolute Best Way to See Porto – Request João!

We booked a private city highlights tour with hotel pickup, and it was hands down one of the highlights of our entire trip. If you take this tour, do yourself a huge favor and request Joao! From the minute he arrived right on time at our hotel, Joao set the bar high. His van was spotless, modern, and exceptionally comfortable. Navigating Porto's steep hills and narrow streets can be tricky, but his driving was smooth, calm, and reassuring throughout the day. What impressed us most was Joao's incredible thoughtfulness and willingness to go the extra mile. We had someone in our group who was dealing with an injury, and Joao was endlessly patient and accommodating, ensuring drop-offs and pick-ups were as easy and accessible as possible so no one felt left behind or rushed. To top it off, he even took extra time out of the route to help my husband track down a specific watch store he had been hoping to find - a personal touch that truly went above and beyond any standard itinerary. On top of being professional, attentive, and knowledgeable, Joao is just wonderful company. He is courteous and genuinely funny. Since we speak Portuguese, the witty banter and laughs back and forth made the day fly by. It honestly felt less like a hired tour and more like spending an afternoon exploring the city with a great local friend. Joao made sightseeing completely effortless, stress-free, and memorable. We cannot recommend him highly enough - five stars all the way, e muito obrigado, Joao!

We arrived and right from the start our guide Paolo was friendly and had a great sense of humour. He took us to a place by the Douro river for lunch. It was so comfortable, it felt like we were touring with family. Fonseca Port Wine Cellars was fabulous. The tour was informative thanks to our knowledgeable guide. Alexander! The Port wine tasted incredible. The Douro River cruise was too crowded. I’m very glad I didn’t purchase it on its own. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Porto.
