Erica was very friendly and knowledgeable. A real pleasure to spend time with. We went to three restaurants and all were different and very interesting. The walk is not too far and down hill. The bifana (spicy pork sandwich) was the best. Not too keen on the Bacaolo (salted cod) though. Overall a great experience in the heart of Porto which I would highly recommend.

Ema was a very good guide. She really knew her local history and restaurants. Would have enjoyed a private tour with her,

Miguel our guide was wonderful, however the food/beverage experience was not worth the cost. A little more time between meals might have helped.

Great tour with an amazing guide! Three stops with a full glass of wine at each with little bonus bites at a few places. Perfect way to learn about the city and its food culture.

Miguel was the perfect guide. He was highly intelligent and gave us thorough information to our questions. His local knowledge was impeccable and he took us to the most wonderful places that we would never have found on our own. There are some steep hills so wear appropriate footwear. This tour felt like having drinks and food with family, this is how welcomed we felt in every place we went to. Miguel is a gem. He put us all at ease and explained every dish or drink we had. Thanks for a great tour!

We had a great tour guide Ana. It was just me and my wife in the tour so we were able to ask more questions and get more in-depth knowledge. We had Bifanas at our 1st stop that was awesome. Also tried Beirao licor at one stop and bought several bottles today to take home.
My only comment was the meeting location address that Viator sent us was not accurate (they were off by about a half a block) and it caused some anxiety at the start when you are in an unfamiliar City. This part of the review is only a negative toward Viator and NOT our tour guide. Viator sends the guides and the guests the meeting location details so the misinformation is a Viator issue they need to improve on.

Ana was fantastic and so was all of the food/drinks! Great way to see the city and get great recommendations.

A nice tour with some walking up and down hills to tour 3 restaurants, get numerous recommendations for more dining establishments..
The food was delicious-to-good and often had an accompanying drink (beer, wine, liquor).
The tour guide, Anna, was a delightful multilingual guide. Her topics of discussion, of course included food. She, also treated the tour with discourse on tiles at Sao Bento station, other tourist sights, a bit of 20th Century (1906-1974) Portuguese history, and one not sad Fado song rendition!

Nice guide, fluent English, nice traditional places outside tourist traps. All within reasonable walking distance in centre of town.

Our tour guide GONÇALO MONTEIRO was very knowledgeable and friendly. He was very accommodating to our group and provided us with plenty of recommendations in addition to the tour! The food and drinks were pretty good, but the portions were a bit small. A good tour to consider early in your trip so you can enjoy some of the recommendations the city has to offer. Quite a bit of walking involved so go prepared!

The guide’s knowledge was excellent and she was a good friendly person. Sharing other places of interest and places to eat for the rest of our stay in Porto

Our guide, Ana, was informative and engaging during our tour. The walk was not difficult even though it was quite hot that day. We had delicious food and wine. Ana explained the history of all the dishes and wine we had. We appreciated her suggestions of where else to eat, where to get the best pastel de nata, and what sights to see! Everyone left full!
Sonja_L, Jul 2024
The food was excellent. We learned parts of the culture that were informative and interesting. We went to places we would never have known to go to.

Great experience. Our guide was knowledgeable and fun! The other couples on the tour were interesting, kind and easy to talk with. Plus the food was great. Cod Fish of course, but the spicy pork was a big, pleasant surprise!

Enjoyed being introduced to the flavors, food and paired wines. Saw and learned about different parts of Porto with Ana!

This was an excellent easy paced walking tour of Porto with City Lovers Tours, covering some of the historical places and tasting some of Porto's speciality foods and wines. Thoroughly enjoyed the cod cakes and the cod and fries meal. Tasted green wine for the very first time and it was delicious. Our tour guide Anna was very pleasant, friendly and knowledgeable and provided us with lots of useful information to help us explore Porta. Good value for money and would highly recommend this tour.

Ana B had a wide variety of information about Portuguese food, history and its people. She made the tour fun and interesting! Would highly recommended her.
Thank you Ana!

Marianna, our guide, was beyond amazing! Her warmth was equal to her knowledge. Being a Spanish Jew with a familial history in Portugal, I was so intrigued when Marianna told us the story of “Jewish Sausage”. She was sensitive and respectful explaining the history of Judaism in Portugal. The four of us are New Yorkers and we had an amazing couple from the UK join us. We were the perfect group! I could honestly say it was one of my best excursions ever in my travels! Obrigada, Marianna!

Ana the guide was fantastic!!! very knowledgeable about the food and also the city. Very interesting and informative to say the least. Oh the food and drinks was also excellent.
Wendy_W, Mar 2024
Wonderful tour with Rita! She shared some history of Porto and of the food items chosen.
Loved every stop and every meal. However, my husband and I were sick the next day due to something we ate.
Charlotte_B, Mar 2024
Enjoyed the food. Got to taste some interesting food. Had cod in 2 different dishes. Got to hear about how our guide had these same foods normally in her life. Really enjoyed the cod dish at Maria Odete that used unique Portuguese potato chips. Definately enough food to be full and specific Portuguese liquor, green wine, Super Bock (because we were in Northern Portugal 😆) , wine and port. There were only 4 people on this tour which was really nice. Definitely recommend others to take tour.
