Porto City and Port wine tour

We had a great 4 hour private tour of Porto with Rui from Living Private Tours. The guide picked us up at the port where our Celebrity cruise docked. He showed us the landmarks of the city, taking photos along the way and then took us to Fonseca for a tour of how port wine is produced. We tasted 3 different port wines and had a wonderful time. We would definitely book this tour operator again.

This tour with Jorge was the first excursion on our busy Porto agenda. My mom and I loved every moment. To have such a knowledgeable driver pick us up right in front of our hotel and then take us on such a personalized tour of Porto was incredible. Throughout the tour, Jorge made it a point to show us key landmarks. He shared stories behind the creation of certain statues, gave us the history on many restaurants and even showed us the best shopping places. He was so patient with my requests as a photographer, stopping to make sure I got all the perfect shots. Jorge was absolutely the most thoughtful tour guide we've ever had. We sat down at the end of our wine tour and he made a list of restaurants we should try throughout our trip. He even made sure we knew where to get on the train for our day trip to Lisbon. This tour is designed very well and the price is amazing for all that is included. Having Jorge as our tour guide really helped set the tone for the remainder of our trip. Each day, we would reflect on his guidance and recommendations. We knew which ATM machines not to use thanks to Jorge. We knew where to get the best francesinha thanks to Jorge. He was just so personable and a real joy to meet.

Nuno was awesome. We had a fantastic day, never feeling rushed and hearing more than we could ever retain. But if we learned 20% of what Nuno could offer from local tidbits to Portuguese history we will have benefitted. The tour was great for us since we were to be in Porto for only a couple of days. He arrived on time and was willing to adjust plans to prioritize our choice of items to emphasize.
