We had an amazing experience doing the fly cruise fly and it has been the highlight of our trip so far. Our pilot, Michael, was lovely and pointed out all of the sights along our flight, giving us a bit of historic knowledge on the surrounding areas. The cruise was also an incredible experience with great views and commentary from the boat driver. Very well organised trip.

The flight was absolutely beautiful. We had to postpone our original booking due to weather, but I really appreciated that the company was proactive about keeping us informed. On the day we rescheduled, visibility was good, but the wind conditions were still not suitable for landing and doing the cruise portion. They contacted us and gave us the option to either move the booking to another day or continue with the flight only.
I really appreciated this flexibility, especially because it’s an extra effort that many other companies don’t make. When you only have a limited amount of time in a destination it's great to have the option.
We decided to go ahead with the flight. Since they spent the same time we would have spent back and forth to the cruise, it was a little long for my daughter, but the scenery was absolutely incredible and completely worth it. The pilot was very friendly and kept telling us about the places and landscapes we were seeing along the way.
Another thing I really appreciated was that, before I even had to ask, they had already refunded the proportional amount for the cruise portion we weren’t able to do. During this trip, I had several other tours affected by weather where I had to chase the companies myself to rearrange things or get refunds, so this level of proactive service really stood out.

The views from both the plane and cruise were stunning. Flying was definitely the way to go to get to and from the cruise. This was a super fun day trip, and one of the highlights of our time in New Zealand!

This was one of the highlights of my trip! Flying to Milford Sound, taking the cruise, and flying back was absolutely worth it. The scenic flight saved so much travel time and offered breathtaking views.
We were fortunate to have a beautiful, clear day, and Milford Sound truly lived up to its reputation. Every moment felt majestic, from the towering peaks to the waterfalls and stunning scenery.
A special thank you to our pilot, Michael, who was both informative and kind. His commentary throughout the flight added so much to the experience, and he made everyone feel safe and comfortable. I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience Milford Sound in the most unforgettable way.

Absolutely amazing bucket list stuff! The girls in the office with helped to change our date due to poor weather conditions. The day was well organised and our pilot Michael was awesome and explained what we were looking at and let us know if there was going to be a few bumps. The boat tour at Milford Sound was stunning and also well organised!

True South was an absolutely outstanding experience. Our flight cruise flight was organized and ran on time. Jason was a great pilot and knowledgeable about the surroundings.
If you are nervous about taking this trip, you should jump in with two feet and fly with True South.

The flight out to Milford Sound was something that’s now in my top 5. I landed in the co pilot seat and the view was amazing. Michael our pilot was first class. He handled the chop with expert control and confidence, was a terrific tour guide pointing out all the sights, and landed the plane like a boss. Would definitely do it again. Highly recommend it; but be prepared for a choppy ride around the mountains and coming in to land at Milford Sound. Rest assured, these pilots are well trained and experienced to handle the conditions. 100% confidence in them.

Amazing. Lovely pilot who gave great commentary throughout flight and was generally very friendly. Views from the plane are incredible, it's a great vantage of dramatic and changing landscape. The cruise was also a great experience, we managed to see a dolphins and got very close to the waterfalls.

This was quite simply amazing from start to finish!! The organisation and comms was excellent and we were given the option to move our tour forward a day, due to bad weather forecast on our initial booking day. We were told this plenty of time in advance and this gave us the option to rearrange our plans and book an additional night.
The check-in process was seamless and our pilot Andrew was great, giving us lots of info as we flew on the surrounding area. The scenery was beautiful and flying in through the fjord was just spectacular!
The cruise was also again amazing, the scenery was beautiful and the boat comfortable. I recommend wrapping up warm and making the most of the outdoor space to truly appreciate the scenery.
A perfect trip that has been the highlight of our visit to New Zealand!

The scenery on the flight was spectacular! We were delayed from our original booking time due to weather, so be prepared to potentially be rescheduled. The trip was worth the wait, and we appreciate that the company put safety first. We enjoyed the Milford Sound and would highly recommend this flight option.

I travelled to Milford Sound with my brother. As we didn't have that long in NZ and wanted to maximise our time, we opted for the 1hr 90min round trip flight rather than the 10hour round trip drive. Honestly, it is worth the price as seeing Queenstown and the surrounding areas from the air is incredible, a once in a lifetime experience.

We would told by any friends that went to NZ that this was a must do trip- and to do the air/cruise vs drive the long distance. It did not disappoint! We got lucky with the weather and had great views from the plane and the boat cruise. Everyone was friendly, informative and welcoming from the shuttle driver to pilot to folks on the boat.

The fly-cruise-fly to Milford Sound is a must do! Everything from the pick-up from the hotel with Sam and the very friendly invite from him and our pilot Andrew that showed all of us their wealth of knowledge on our travels, to the magnificent scenery and views of the waterfalls, landscape, and sea life. I would highly recommend if you are thinking of going to do it!!!

Doing the fly/cruise combo was an absolutely fantastic way to see Milford sound and Queenstown from the air.

Luke was great. Also, the first pilot we had on the way to Milford sound. Definitely worth doing… Much better than 12 to 14 hour round-trip on the bus.

The pilot Luke was very experienced and knowledgeable throughout our flight to Milford Sound. He went above and beyond to make sure our trip was fun and enjoyable. The cruise through Milford Sound was just breathtaking, and the commentary on Pure Milford was funny and entertaining. The staff on board was also very friendly.

You could not ask for a more amazing experience than flying to Milford Sound with True South. This is the most time efficient method to get to see Milford if you are on a short timeframe like we were. It was such a treat to see the gorgeous landscapes on the way in and way out as well as on the cruise. My favorite experience for our entire trip!!!!

Fantastic explanations along the way and the scenery is as good as you’re ever going to see. The cruise was also vey good, with great and humorous commentary. The flight from Queenstown to Milford Sound is the best way to there and back in half a day. Other patrons took the coach and said never again. The aircraft takes you over the mountains (close) and is unbelievable; taking you over Milford Sound before landing. On the way back we went the length of Lake Whakatitu and past the Remarkables. The cruise is nice ans offers a close up to the waterfalls, etc and compliments the flight well.
The pilot (Andrew) was great and very knowledgeable.
We were delivered back to our hotel by the company in good time.

Excellent service from the entire team, check-in, ground support and pilot. Lily the pilot is a very skilled pilot, courteous and engaging with her passengers and provided great commentary throughout the flight. The best way to see Milford sound in a day trip.
