What an amazing place. An absolute credit to everyone who helped build it in the first place and to all those who maintain it now. Our guide, Z, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. And the bonus was all the cute little lambs running around with their mums.

Entertaining and our tour guide, Lana, also has sense of humor so it’s not boring. It’s good to at least watch the movie first , it does nit have to ge the entire movie.

If you love the movies this is the real experience. The bonus drink isn't much if you aren't not an alcohol drinker. The non-alcohol drink is ginger-beer. But the scenery, the stories, the pictures are all well worth it.

Take good walking shoes and remember to fully charge your phone for photos because there's so many beautiful views gardens and hobbit homes to photograph absolutely 💯 amazing ,we had a lovely tour guide, (Damon) he was funny happy and full of knowledge thankyou so much for a wonderful experience 😊

It was one on the bucket list and worth it. To actually be in the set with so much detail and the guide telling behind the scenes information was epic. You will feel transported into the life of a hobbit.

A really smooth check in - even though we arrived a little close to our tour time. The reception area was well organised with easy access. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly which set the tone for the day. The guide was informative and the tour was given just the right amount of time to enjoy the whole of the set. Well worth a visit and certainly recommend booking through Viator!

Special place if you like The Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit. It has been on my Bucket List for several years and I was really pleased I made the effort. Loved the theme music in the bus as we departed, really pleased there were umbrellas. I was well dressed and had an umbrella but was provided a larger and better one. Thank you. Our guide (Stephen) was very good as well, like hearing the stories around the tour (Sat 25, 1:40pm)

Don't miss this fantastic opportunity to experience a real movie set complete with props, costumes and a guided tour with behind the scenes information. You will be fully immersed in Hobbiton life, including entry into a real Hobbit Home that has been created with such attention to detail it will amaze you. The Green Dragon Inn offers a free drink from a variety of fine ales and cider. An unforgettable experience for all ages.

Magical experience!🫶🏼 even though we haven’t watch any of the films, being at tle location feels amazingly beautiful and exhilarating! Really worth every penny; from the staff, driver, food, drinks up to location and whole experience! Everyone should try once it their lifetime when they can!🧚🏻♀️🥰

Great experience; the staff are very friendly, and our guide appeared very invested in Hobbiton, which made the experience all the better. Went in the middle of winter, but we still had sunshine and a wonderful rainbow when a shower passed through. The craftsmanship and all the little peculiarities were fascinating.

It is a must do for people from NZ and for those visiting from overseas. This was my second visit.
This time it was with a 19 year old grand-daughter visiting from the UK.
A nearly 21 year old grand-daughter will visit me soon and she may well want to do the Hobbiton tour too.
Rob our tour guide was fun, informative and made sure that he included all of the people in the group. Well done Rob.

We had the BEST experience at Hobbiton! My husband and I would recommend it to anyone. We were fortunate to be in a small group (8 people), and I think it made for an even better experience. Our tour guide, John, was amazing! He was enthusiastic, informative, and always willing to play photographer.

This is truly a surreal experience. Once the Hobbiton Tours-branded bus drops you off at the entrance to the movie set, the excitement builds to a crescendo. And when you take your first step inside the Shire, you are instantly transported to the fantasy world that is Middle Earth! The hills and Hobbit houses look exactly like they do in the movies. If you’re a Tolkien fan, you will not be disappointed. The movie set that has been erected and preserved on the Alexander Farm has to be exactly what Tolkien envisioned. The tour guides are great. They share some wonderful behind-the-scenes nuggets of trivia that you can impress your family and friends with when re-watching the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings trilogies.

Travelling here is an experience for anyone that anyone can hope for. As would bilbo. Resting at home, wondering what an adventure would be. Running out of the shire with the contract in hand with the reoccurring thought. “What if, I do participate in this endeavour”. I advise you to try. Go experience this. Enjoy the magic that is New Zealand and hobbiton. You will look back on this adventure and won’t regret.

It is a well paced experience, and beautifully laid out. Our Hobbit guide, Sam, was simply fantastic, with a treasure trove of knowledge. My wife has never read the books nor seen the movies, but also enjoyed it immensely and would go back. Will have to watch all the movies again.
