You don't have to have watched any movies and still enjoy it..
Bit of walking up hill. So make sure you don't wear high heals.
Recommend....please have something about the characters and photos so we can get an idea who you are talking about..

Hobbiton is already, automatically the best place on earth, however our tour guide, Rob, made it just that much better. He had facts, and jokes, puns and quips, and so much deep knowledge. We really appreciated Rob!! Love the new walk through feature of the Hobbit home. So many wonderful little details. 100% TELLING EVERYONE TO GO TO THIS ADVENTURE!

Nice cafe for a snack or light meal before or after your visit. Loved Sam’s house: exquisite interior detail. Zara, our guide, was bright & energetic & really made the experience (fantastic guide).

A magical must-do experience! The Hobbiton Movie Set Walking Tour from Shire's Rest completely exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, everything felt like stepping straight into Middle-earth.
The tour was beautifully organized, and our guide was fantastic-full of fun facts, behind-the-scenes stories, and genuine enthusiasm that made the whole experience even more special. Walking through the rolling green hills, seeing the Hobbit holes up close, and visiting iconic spots like Bag End was absolutely surreal.
Every detail is perfectly maintained, making it feel so authentic and immersive. Finishing the tour with a drink at the Green Dragon Inn was the perfect touch and really brought the whole experience together.
Whether you're a fan of the films or just love stunning scenery, this tour is 100% worth it. Truly unforgettable-5 stars without a doubt!

As you go round there is a group 10 minutes ahead and one 10 minutes behind, but the guides are very good. Going inside the hobbit hole is amazing, so much detail. Guide said it was 6,000 steps, I made it less than 3,000

A once in a lifetime experience. We are big Tolkien fans and this tour was like walking into the world of the movies. Our tour guide Danni was great and she shared just enough to provide backstory, was open and answered all questions and gave us time to take pics and explore.
The set is like being transported into the Shire.
The only complaint/caution I have for LOR fans is that there is not s great collection of memorabilia in the gift shoppe for purchase. We went to Weta workshop’s gift store in Auckland snd saw many things we might have liked to have but held back because we knew we were going to Hobbiton and thought they would have a better selection. But we were so wrong! They have one design of shirt/sweatshirt for Hobbiton. If you do not like that design there no other options except a few marathon shirts left over from the recent Halflings marathon or non-unique basic LOR gear that you can buy on Amazon or online.
We were disappointed and had hoped to take home some unique Hobbiton treasures and were asked to buy mementos for fellow LOR fans snd could not find much they could not just get online ( no unique magnets or stickers or good shirts). Luckily the photos we have and the memories of the tour are amazing!

I am not a Hobbit nut, but I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I like to build things, and the detail on the Hobbit houses was so cool. I'll definitely copy parts of them in my own work.

A magical place. Extremely well run and our host was amazing - knowledgeable, fun and insightful. The location was immaculate and the more you looked the more you saw. The generously sized ale at the pub wax a real bonus. Highly recommended - even if you aren’t an out and out Hobbit-head.

The Hobbiton tour was excellent. I went along with my wife and two friends and we found everything is just like the movie. Sebastian the tour guide was extremely informative and very knowledgeable about all things Hobbit related. The new attractions inside the Hobbit holes were a great inclusion in the tour and we loved all the décor and artefacts. The beers at the end were very welcome.

A 2 hour magical experience. From catching the bus at the start right to the end. Our tour guide was amazing. Lots of photo opportunities along our walk through the enchanting Hobbiton, you really do feel transported into the joy of it. The detail that has gone into creating this set is incredible. We were buzzing after this experience and highly recommend.

This was everything I could have hoped for as a long term Tolkien fan. Our tour guide Sam, was excellent with just the right amount of stories and information for a large and varied group. The layout and attention to detail are quite delightful and help to make the experience fully immersive. Highly recommended.
