Make your own way to the helicopter base to board your helicopter. After meeting your pilot and listening to the safety briefing, buckle up for an exhilarating flight and take off over the Fox Glacier Township.
Soar over the West Coast glacier region, gazing out over the snowy landscapes and rugged peaks, then swoop low over the Fox Glacier, enjoying dramatic views of the glacial cliffs and icefalls.
Finally, touchdown on a snowy mountaintop and feel the thrill of walking on pristine snow in an area inaccessible to hikers or land vehicles. After posing for photos against a stunning snow-blanketed backdrop, jump back aboard for the return journey.

It was very informative. Our guide, Charlie, worked extremely hard to dig a safe path for us to walk on the ice. We had excellent weather and enjoyed a very full three hours on the glacier. As this tour is weather-dependent, the conditions on our day allowed us to fully experience everything. Although there were many tourists, the guide ensured we had enough time at each spot and made sure everyone felt comfortable throughout the experience. The glacier is truly magnificent, and the entire tour was incredibly enjoyable.

The organisation of the tour itself was a bit of a mess - the instruction says to go to the office but when we arrived that was locked. We only found where to go by walking around to ask different people who were on the other side of the road.
The flight itself was incredible and our pilot was extremely nice. The views were incredible and the landing was so smooth.

The really wonderful trip , our pilot was fantastic and the weather fine so the flight and landing was a brilliant, it’s not cheap but the only way to get up to the glacier. A must do if you are travelling on the west coast

The guide and pilot for our trip were both wonderful! Both of them emphasized safety, which for a helicopter ride was very reassuring. They were also very kind about taking pictures and answering questions about the glacier. The helicopter ride itself was extremely smooth and the route was placed to make sure we could see the length of the glacier and its path down the mountain. All it all, it was an amazing experience and well worth the time to do once.

The trip is absolutely gorgeous and a very memorable experience. The pilot is extremely knowledgeable and skillful. The view from the glacier is something else. Tip - if you're staying in Fox Glacier for a few days, always book your flight for the first day and let them know you're happy for them to reschedule when the weather permits. Cloudy weather can obstruct the flight, so they continuously monitor the weather for an opening in the cloud cover and then decide to proceed (which is what happened to us).
