This half-day Queenstown canyoneering adventure is action-packed! Walk through an ancient beech forest to a steep-walled canyon, where you descend by zipline, abseil (rappel) down waterfalls, plunge into natural pools, float down narrow passageways, and cascade down chutes. Expert guides ensure your safety and provide alternate routes depending on skill level. No experience is necessary, but this activity does require a moderate level of fitness and confidence in moving water. Wetsuits, safety equipment, and waterproof footwear are provided

This was one of the best experiences of my life. Paige and Luke were so lovely. I felt very safe and confident with their guidance. This was my first time canyoning; it was tough and required a decent amount of endurance. You must give it a go if you are an adrenaline junkie and love nature.

Paige and Luke were our tour guides and they were amazing. The climbing was a little more challenging then I expected in some areas but I felt very safe and had a great time. Would totally recommend this activity if you are comfortable in the water and with some climbing.

An adventure filled 1/2 day canyoning tour with our guides Jay & Paige. Certainly not for the feint hearted but the experience was awesome. Our guides did a fantastic job on the day and made it a very memorable experience for the group. Would highly recommend

An incredible day outdoors. Moderately physically demanding, with a good deal of trust placed on you to pace yourself and navigate tricky terrain. Not for the uncoordinated or squeamish. Guides were super helpful and friendly. You tell everyone had fun and bonded

I did this experience 10yrs ago and had to come back when I was in town! If you’re an outdoorsy person and love being active and trying new things, I’d highly recommend doing this. You really don’t need to have any experience. Guides for the day were Luke and Josh and they were fantastic. They quite literally show you the ropes with what to do and will make sure you’re feeling safe while you’re pushing yourself outside of your own comfort zone, and they’re just really friendly and great guys to chat with. I did the trip solo and met some cool people from other parts of the world which I loved!

Wow!! What a thrill this event was!! Absolutely thrilling. Both Luke and Paige, our guides, were professional, nice and helpful. They both made this event great! The event itself is not a park you go to and everything is preset, you are on our own and part of the elements Mother Nature brings. I definitely plan to do this again when I return! Lots of fun. Great guides. They will provide all the equipment for you. Wet suit, boots etc. So pack light. They provide storage for your personal belongings

This experience was fun, but slightly scarier and more difficult than I had imagined. First of all, the staff was great and helpful and made sure everyone was safe. It's very close to Queenstown - maybe just a 15-20 minute drive. Once you gear up in pretty thick wetsuits and helmets, there is a quick few short zip lines, then a repel down a cliff. I felt like they let me down the cliff a little too fast and I banged on the wall - but it was ok. The water was cold, but not too bad. It was just running very fast and was very strong. At 5'3"/120 lbs, I felt like it was going to sweep me away and I was nervous. There was one place where you slide off this waterfall and water is dumping all over you - it was a little scary. The canyons are beautiful and it was a cool experience, but it was a little much for me. I'd say you have to have good mobility, decent strength and a strong comfort in moving water. My family (hubby and 2 20 something daughters) liked it more than me.

It would be wise to tell the guests that there is no where to leave your belongings locked up. You have to leave your keys and wallet at the shop.

Thanks as well for your feedback. For safety reasons, there are no lockers at the canyoning base. This is explained during the briefing, and guests are asked to leave valuables at our shop, where they are securely locked away until you return.

Great way to experience a lot of what makes Queenstown unique. Guides are very upbeat and positive, encouraging you to try things that might be a little outside of your comfort zone. They also take photos so you don’t have to worry about it!

Such an AWESOME experience; we had two guides which were equally extremely helpful and clearly informative. I needed to stop for a couple breaks here and there and I never felt like it was ever an issue and I got to finish the entire thing~~ 10/10 would recommend! Thank you guys ❤️❤️

Our guides Jay and Riley were phenomenal and really made this experience, there were a few people in our group that were a bit apprehensive but the guides were so good at putting them at ease. The group size was great, gave enough time to enjoy the view and take in the surroundings but not waiting around too long. Would definitely recommend this tour, it was a lot of fun

This was very fun! We got to zipline, climb through the canyon, and jump off of waterfalls. All our tour guides were great, and I particularly appreciated Jay's positive attitude throughout. He was encouraging, enthusiastic, and patient. I recommend trying out canyoning with this company.

Our Klan was truly impressed with Canyon Adventures and their outstanding commitment to safety. Before we ever left base, the team took time to speak with each of us about any fears, concerns, or physical limitations, which immediately put everyone at ease. Once on-site, they geared us up thoroughly to ensure both warmth and protection.
Our experience took an unexpected turn when thunder and rain rolled in shortly after we began. The team made the immediate call to return to base for our safety—no hesitation, no risks taken. We appreciated that more than anything. They then offered us the choice to reschedule or receive a full refund. With upcoming flights, we unfortunately had to choose the refund, but we left with nothing but respect for their professionalism.
A top-notch team that clearly puts people first. Highly recommended, and we hope to try again on a future trip.
