Do yourself a favor and make this your first activity when you arrive in Amsterdam. It is the perfect way to be introduced to the city, the culture, the history and the food. Roman is engaging, energetic, and so knowledgable. We saw sights that we would not have found on our own. We had a broad range of food tastings that hit the spectrum of local cuisine. Each stop was curated and well researched. Not only was the tour itself excellent, but Roman made dinner reservations for us at an Indonesian restaurant that we loved. And he shared many recommendations for activities beyond his tour. Worth every penny. Worth every minute. Go see Roman (and his team comes highly trained and recommended as well)

Maaike is an excellent guide for the Windmills, Clogs, and Dutch cheese tour!

Our sweet guide, Maaike, was really friendly, energetic, and obviously passionate about Zaanse Schans. She drove our group of 8 from Amsterdam and was a safe driver. In the small village, she took us around, explaining well the town's history and current situation. Everyone seemed pleased with Maaike, and the entire 3.5 hours were pleasant. ... The only downside was that the stops felt a bit rushed. 20-30 minutes of free time after each stop or an hour at the end of the village visit would have enabled people to go back to favorite places. Maybe that would result in more money for the local economy.

Tour started later than scheduled due to the late arrival of the bus. Airconditioning was not working well. Our tour guide was funny and friendly. The tour was very informative. It would have been better if the trip in Zaanse Schans was guided. Other than that, everything was great. Definitely recommended!

This is an excellent tour if you want to see the countryside around Amsterdam. The bikes were easy to use and made traveling the distance rather easy. The tour guide Anne was friendly and helpful and shared great tips as well as local knowledge. The cheese and clogs stop was highly entertaining. Our guide, Joeri, was laid-back, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about both the city and its food culture. The tour felt authentic from start to finish, taking us beyond the usual tourist hotspots and into smaller local establishments that I never would have discovered on my own. The food selections were excellent, offering a great variety of local specialties while providing insight into Amsterdam’s culinary traditions. Joeri also did a fantastic job adapting when one of the planned stops wasn’t available due to the unusually hot weather. Rather than missing out, he seamlessly switched to a great alternative, ensuring the experience never skipped a beat. Beyond the food, the walking portion through the historic canal district and Jordaan neighborhood was wonderful. Strolling along the UNESCO-listed canals while learning about the city’s history and culture added another layer to the experience. Well-paced, informative, and delicious, this tour offers a perfect combination of sightseeing and local food. If you’re looking for an authentic introduction to Amsterdam and its food scene, I highly recommend this tour—and especially Joeri as a guide.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Amsterdam All-Inclusive 90-Minute Canal Cruise with Captain Jack. Our captain, Paul, was waiting at the meeting point right on time and even generously delayed departure by an extra 15 minutes for passengers who unfortunately never showed up. Throughout the cruise, Paul provided an informative and engaging commentary on the history of Amsterdam’s famous canals, sharing interesting facts and local insights that made the experience much more than just a boat ride. He was happy to answer questions, clearly knew his subject well, and interacted with passengers in a friendly and welcoming manner. Most importantly, Paul made everyone feel safe and comfortable on board. His patience, kindness, and professionalism were evident throughout the tour. As a side note, if your schedule allows, consider booking an earlier morning departure. We were told that canal traffic can become quite congested later in the day, and a quieter morning cruise would likely make for an even more relaxing experience. If you’re looking for a comfortable way to see Amsterdam from the water while learning about the city’s fascinating history, this cruise is an excellent choice.

Best canal tour around!

We did a 2 hr canal tour with Captain Storm and couldn’t be happier! First, the snacks, drinks, and stop for bitterballen were fantastic! It was only 12 people so we had plenty of room (small group is the way to go) and you could easily see everything with unblocked views. Captain Storm was knowledgeable and pointed out things we wouldn’t have noticed. He shared stories of history as well in a lighthearted manner. My friends had been on several other tours and said this was by far the best!

Lovely sunset canal tour of Amsterdam

My friend and I booked this experience last minute because we realized we had booked a different canal tour for the wrong day. I was very happy with this tour and we had a lot of fun. We chose the unlimited drinks option and they let us keep a bottle of wine by us to drink throughout the tour. I unfortunately don’t remember our guides name but he was younger and was very entertaining. He shared information about certain buildings and monuments throughout the tour, and answered any questions we asked. His english was very good as well and I had no issue understanding him. Overall it was a fun experience and I’d do it again!
