We'll depart from and return to the Folly River Boat Ramp and enjoy a scenic boat ride through the salt marsh creeks of Folly Island to historic Morris Island. Once on Morris Island, you’ll have the opportunity to walk the beach in search of shells, shark teeth, and other fossils. From Morris Island you will also enjoy breathtaking up-close views of the historic Morris Island lighthouse. During your journey to and from the island, you will enjoy numerous sightings of Bottlenose Dolphins and other saltwater wildlife.

Before you set off on your hunt, I'll share my knowledge of the area and some pro tips on getting the most out of your excursion. You're sure to enjoy your experience finding one-of-a-kind treasures on this the beautiful barrier island. Since this experience requires a good bit of walking, it is recommended to pack as light as you can while still bringing everything you will need for the trip. I suggest a backpack big enough to hold water, snacks, sunscreen and bug spray. *There is a 2-person minimum required for this trip.

If the Tide permits we will make a stop at Morris Island to see the Lighthouse bathed in the evening glow before returning to the dock to see the sun fade below the horizon. Get onto the Folly River in Charleston with a stand-up paddleboard to explore the beautiful waterways. We will land on the south end of Morris Island, near the Lighthouse, where you will have 90 minutes to walk the beach on your own to look for shells, shark teeth and fossils. As we make our way back to the dock, you will likely see dolphins as the inlet behind the island is one of their favorite places to hang out.
