Itinerary
Your walking tour starts in Campo San Geremia, a picturesque square in the quiet, tucked-away district of Cannaregio. Experience Venice as locals live it, far from the usual crowds of tourists. Listen to the story of the square’s unusual and comic history. You’ll be in a group of only 15 people maximum (or a private group if option selected), so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
Cross over Cannaregio’s tranquil foot bridges into the Jewish Quarter—the origin of the word “ghetto.” Step inside the church of the Madonna dell’Orto, famous for its Tintoretto paintings. Learn why the stunning facade of the Palazzo Mastelli del Cammello is nicknamed “Camel House.”
Get a peek at a historic gondola factory as you wind your way toward one of the city’s star attractions: Rialto Bridge. Listen to your guide recount stories about the traditions and little-known stories behind the 16th-century landmark. The tour ends here in the heart of Venice, but you’ll be well-positioned to continue exploring on your own.

Amazing hidden gem tour in Venice. We saw things we never would have known about without our tour guide. We also loved that it was a small group with no headsets so we could clearly hear him and ask him lots of questions. Definitely would recommend for someone who wants to know about the history of Venice without going to the major touristy streets.

Nico gave a great tour of an area of Venice that I otherwise might have missed. It was great to be away from the crowds and to hear Nico’s interesting history of the area. Nico would answer any question and also provides great restaurant recommendations!

I thought this was more about seeing sites in Venice that were a little less known to guide books and guides. It was really more of a look at everyday Venice as a local light limit. Unfortunately, the Tor Guide seemed a bit nervous and shy. Didn’t speak very loud and kind of looked downward a lot. The Jewish quarter was probably the highlight, but I guess I could have gone there on my own.

The tour was a lovely way to see the city and actually know what you are seeing. Our guide was obviously very passionate about the city he was born in and it showed. This is a great thing to do first thing.

Giovanni was exceptionally nice and well versed in Venetian history and culture! He gave us a map that he had marked with local restaurant, shopping, and attraction locations. He was considerate of the heat, often breaking in the shade, and made sure we saw everything we were interested in seeing! Cannot recommended Giovanni enough!

The guide provides lots of insights and history of that portion of Venice, that we wouldn’t have gotten walking through on our own. She was very friendly and answered lots of questions. She also had restaurant recommendations based on personal experience.

Excellent tour - humorous and insightful. Knowledgable guide
Worthwhile - I would recommend to everyone.
Good way to start understanding Venice.

Very fun and informative tour. The pace, subjects, locations were all perfect for us and our 11 year old son. Nicola really made the tour a great experience.

This tour was incredibly incitefull. Tomasa bought a real Venetian perspective to the tour giving equal weight to both the good and the bad through history. Definitely recommend this tour to get away from the usual touristy areas of the city and see the real day to day Venetian life and customs.

What a great tour! We learned so much about the history and development of Venice. We definitely explored places we would not have found on our own. Giovanni is a terrific guide.

On time meeting at starting point, our tour guide Micaela was very warm, polite and knowledgeable. We visited places which were hard to find without guide. It was best introduction of local places, history and culture. Must take this tour

A lot of walking and very informative .
Make sure you have water with you especially in the summer!!.

Tomasso was an energetic, funny, and insightful guide. We felt like being shown the city by a friend who grew up there rather than a guide. I highly recommend the tour.

Georgia was amazing! She has such a warm personality perfect for a walking tour. Her knowledge of Venice was amazing especially since she was born and raised, and knew the answers to all our questions. We loved that it was off the beaten path and that she took us around the noisy streets. Would recommend for your first or second day in Venice.
Max_G, Jul 2026
Our guide was so nice and the tour route was beautiful - mainly going through Cannareggio, the more peaceful residential district. We learnt really interesting things about Venice that you’d probably only know as a local!
Reese_C, Jul 2026
Great tour and avoided the San Marcos area, which was great because we had another tour there with friends. Explored San Polo and Cannaregio areas, less crowded, different stories and obvious that some Venetians still live there. Sebastian’s gave great insights throughout. Excellent tour and recommended.

Our guide was amazing. Incredibly knowledgeable. His English was impeccable. He made the tour fun and interesting and gave us sooo much information. Really fabulous guide!
Thomas_M, Jul 2026

Mark_M, Jul 2026
This was the perfect addition to a trip to Venice. Allowed a window into the quieter side of the city, while also being highly educational. And Sebastiano was simply excellent: informative, knowledgeable, and charming. 10/10 recommend.

Enjoyed this tour with a wonderful guide, Micaela. The route and pace were perfect, Micaela was extremely knowledgeable, patient and friendly. She's a local and added personal anecdotes as we walked. My family and another were late arriving as we got lost on the way to the meeting point, our guide was patient as she waited for us - we were in communication with her so we was aware.

Mihaela was very knowledgeable about the city and made the tour entertaining. Would definitely recommend her to lead your tour.

We had a great time with our guide Nico. He showed us the places that were not usually visited by tourists, and told many interesting stories. We really enjoyed it.

This ended up being one of our favorite tours. The young man was very knowledgeable and had a lot of information to share even Davis recommend recommendations on where to eat.

Lorenzo was an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable; he definitely took us to parts of the city we never would have found on our own.

Great way to explore some off-the-beaten-path parts of Venice. Very personable guide, lots of fun and upbeat.
Don_V, Jul 2026
Sebastiano was a wonderful guide, very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. We strolled thru several neighborhoods off the beaten path, full of culture and away from crowds. I'm glad I got to see other parts of Venice. The city is beautiful and full of charm and history.
Nishat_K, Jul 2026
Nicola was well versed in Venetian history. We walked by areas that were off the beaten path. It was well worth it.
Sarah_M, Jul 2026
We have been to. Venice before, so we were keen to explore more of the ‘real Venice’, away from the crowds and usual tourist haunts. Sebastiano delivered. He was personable, knowledgeable, and took us to places we’d definitely not seen previously. We felt like we had a better insight into the Venice of the people. Take a hat, lots of water and wear walking shoes!
Kenjiro_G, Jul 2026
Very receptive guide! Very informative and kept our group interested. Would recommend !! Wear your walking shoes!
Darlene_C, Jul 2026
In my opinion this tour was out of the mainstream Venice option tours. Georgia was very knowledgeable and provided in depth historical facts. I found it very interesting. Additionally, she was patient and slowed pace somewhat due to my trouble keeping pace because of arthritis in my leg and several bridges that were difficult to walk up and down in the usual manner. Truly appreciated her patience. However with the individual microphone I was able to hear her and follow along easily. Myself and our group enjoyed getting to know this aspect of Venice
