Lorenzo was an amazing host for this experience. He was super knowledgeable about the fish and produce markets and was on time to the experience. The meal was amazing and it was even cooler helping pick out the ingredients! Overall I would so recommend doing this experience!

Heads up - good, but NOT PRIVATE

Okay, so this was a super mixed experience because we ultimately had a great time due to ending up with some fun people in our group and Rosanna being an absolutely amazing hostess. Rosanna led us through Rialto market and took time to explain all of the goodies on offer and answer any questions we had. She was also gracious and instructive through cooking and enjoying our delicious meal. On the other hand, and despite the title, this class is NOT PRIVATE. Note that the details say up to 10 people, but this does not mean they will accommodate a private group up to 10 people. This means they will combine groups to a maximum of 10 people...summarily ignoring the "private" part of the title. In any case, expectations are everything when you are booking experiences like this, so knowing exactly what you are booking makes all of the difference. It's a great experience if you are intending to book a "small group" class. The only other downside that you should be aware of is the actual location. The cooking is done in an apartment in the Cannaregio neighborhood, about a 20 min walk NW of the Rialto market. Not a big deal for us personally, but certainly worth noting, especially if it is really hot and/or you have mobility issues. Also, we had 6 people total in the class. That group size fit comfortably, but 10 would be very unfortable in the space the apartment has. Again, mixed bag for us because we decided to just roll with and ended up having fun. Had it been accurately advertised, however, we would have booked another option, as that was important to us. There are other private classes that are available for similar cost.

It sounds like the experience itself delivered exactly what it was designed to offer. Regarding the “private” concern, the listing clearly states that the experience accommodates up to 10 guests. Had exclusivity been an essential requirement, there are experiences specifically advertised and priced as fully private. As for the location, the class takes place in a traditional Venetian home in Cannaregio, one of Venice’s most authentic neighborhoods. The address and general location are available before booking, allowing guests to determine whether the setting and walking distance are suitable for their needs. In any case, I’m glad that despite your initial reservations, you ultimately had a great time, enjoyed the experience, and left with positive memories of your time in Venice. Best regards

Make sure you know where the meeting spot is before hand when asked where to go I was sent all over the city except for where I supposed to go. Class was missed

Charming Culinary Experience with Lorenzo!

Cooking with Lorenzo was a unique experience. We met him near the Venice for market (similar to Pike’s Market) Walking through the market with him was a highlight—we got to see a wide selection of fresh seafood, from octopus and clams to swordfish and scallops. The produce was just as impressive, with the ripest strawberries, tomatoes, lemons, and more. Lorenzo selected the fresh ingredients, including sea bass, asparagus, artichokes, and strawberries, before we stopped for a quick coffee break. Back in his kitchen, we learned to make egg noodle pasta from scratch and prepared the sea bass with seasonal vegetables, all while Lorenzo guided us with expert instruction and hands-on demonstrations. The atmosphere was charming, with familiar music, wine, and conversation as we cooked. We sat down to enjoy our delicious meal—it was a memorable experience. This experience was both fun and educational, and we recommend it to anyone looking to immerse themselves in authentic Italian cooking. Lorenzo’s passion for food and teaching made it truly special!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Lorenzo. Due to low season in November, it was just the two of us, and Lorenzo provided a comprehensive intro of the stalls at Rialto Market, and generous hospitality at his home afterwards. Although my wife and I are experienced cooks, we still learned a lot from Lorenzo's treatment of local specialty seafoods and vegetable ingredients, as well as the Venetian style of risotto. Thanks very much for a memorable experience during our recent trip to Venice!

Fun cooking class!

Great cooking class, Rossana was an amazing host and teacher. We enjoyed walking through the market and learning about shopping for fresh sea food. It was fun to see how locals live and cook and Rossana did a wonderful job sharing details regarding proportions and quantities, depending on how many people you need to cook for. She was very patient and kind. Be prepared to spend about 5 hrs between walking through the market, cooking, and eating. I would highly recommend a cooking class with Rossana. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Italy!!!

This was the best tour ever. We learned much about the markets in Venice. There were 9 in our group. Lorenzo was excellent at teaching and allowing us to all take part in the process.
