Itinerary

With this small-group food-tasting walking tour of Venice, you benefit from insider knowledge about where to drink and dine in the city while getting a comprehensive introduction to the local cuisine. All dishes are in season to ensure you try the freshest recipes.

Meet your guide near the fountain next to the steps of the Chiesa San Giacomo di Rialto church, steps from the famous Rialto Bridge. Then, get started on a tasty trip through the local specialties, such as fresh seafood, regional wines, homemade desserts, and gelato.

Make eight stops in all, beginning with coffee and pastries. Continue to wine bars and taste wines paired with “cicchetti,” traditional snacks or side dishes similar to tapas. Before the tour ends, try 5–6 kinds of fish, sample local cured meats, and visit one of the oldest bars in Venice.

Top your dishes off with cookies and gelato before finishing the tour at the Rialto Bridge.

On Venetian and Italian national holidays, the only language we offer is English ( example dates are: May 1st, August 14 and 15, December 24, 25, 31, Jan 1 to Jan 7) .
We are currently experiencing exceptionally high demand for our tours, so the tour could have up to 19 people. If the number of participants are more than 15 people, we will compensate it by giving you more food and wine. If you show up and see that the tour is larger than the stated maximum, and are not happy with it, we are happy to process a refund. A refund can only processed and YOU DO NOT PARTICIPATE in the tour. No refund could be processed if you decide to participate half way or in the tour at all. This could be communicated to the guide on the day of. We try to send an email reminders out to every one in case our bookings are over 15, but because we are experiencing a massive influx of messages and calls these days, we might miss some of the communication. By booking this product, you agree to the term and conditions stated above
Please note that the tour meeting time is 15 minutes prior to the start time. No refunds or re-bookings can be provided for late arrivals or no shows after tour commencement or departure

Children less than 3 years old are free of charge unless they would like to have food on the tour as well. Infants must sit on lap for this free option (no stroller could be bought on the tour for the free option else a regular rate applies). If the infant will be sharing food from the parents plate, we kindly ask that you pay for a child ticket on this tour because this tour guarantees every one to be full and well-fed, and we cant guarantee that to every one if this happens.
If your chosen language for the tour is not English, and the group at that time slot has less than 5 people total signed up, you would be joined with an English speaking group with a guide that speaks multiple languages including the language that you requested. If you would like an excursion with the guide speaks Italian, or French, or German, or Spanish for only your group, and your group is less than 5 people, it would be a private tour and surcharge will apply. Please message us in advanced if you would like to book a private tour option. Please note that all services and communication on holidays will be conducted in English.
This tour guarantees you to be well-fed ( full ) by the end of the tour. This is our guarantee to you to demonstrate how much food there is on the tour. This guarantee applies when you eat everything that is present to you on the tour, and still hungry at the end ( which so far, never happened). But incase it does, please tell our guide towards the end, and we will give you more food till you are full. If you have any dietary restriction ( no fish, no meat or gluten free etc. , for example, you need to tell us in advanced at least 24 hours before the departure time) else this term doesnt apply because the restaurant wont be able to accommodate the guests as well as they could without advanced notice
The tour operates rains or shines. If you do not hear from us, it means the tour is operating as normal and nothing is cancelled
If one person in the booking require wheelchair access, we suggest that this person have a ferry pass ( to be purchased seperaately)to cross the canal instead of using the bridge
On certain dates, most travelers staying outside of Venice who are planning to visit for the day will be required to pay a €5 access fee. For further details (including exemptions) and to learn what days this fee is applicable
On Venetian and Italian national holidays, the only language we offer is English for our tours.
The orders of stops may change and the types of food, and wine changes by what s fresh at the market but the amount of food on offered is always the same

Arrived to Venice this morning, and took the 5pm tour this evening. It was the best tour we have ever experienced! Giorgia was fun and informative. We had a huge and delicious variety of many food stops with beverages. I’d do it again with her in a heartbeat.

Marianna, a true local with a high energy flare, was a joy to spend an evening with while she shared some of her favorite food stops. Appropriate for all ages. We were treated like visiting friends and family as she shared stories and history behind the food, and drink, we enjoyed. While there may have been an item or two which some of the group weren’t fond of, they at least tried them and Marianna wasn’t offended. This was a good introduction to just many of the traditional food choices of Venice. The night ended with a bit of caffe and wonderful gelato.

The Venice Eat Like A Local tour with Marianna was absolutely delightful. Marianna is fun, passionate, and so generous with her love of Venice and the food that makes visiting it so special. She gave us great advice on how to be a good guest in Venice and not just a tourist, the sort of thing that only a local can give you. Every single place we went to had delicious food made with quality ingredients and it was a perfect way to try out different foods and get to know the city from a different angle. Would 100% recommend. I wish I had photos but I was honestly too busy eating and enjoying myself.

A fantastic perspective on the hidden food treasures tucked away in the labyrinth that is Venice. I genuinely loved the places they chose—each stop felt authentic and thoughtfully selected, and the explanations around the food added so much depth to the experience. What stood out most was the pace. The tour never felt rushed; in fact, it extended about 45 minutes beyond the scheduled time, which made it feel generous and immersive rather than transactional. That said, there’s an opportunity to elevate it further through a bit more curation. Our group had quite varied preferences and dietary needs, and a slightly more tailored approach would have made the experience even stronger for everyone. Was a lot of fun and A LOT of delicious food and drink! Our guide Sarita did a great job explaining the culture of Venetian food and giving us pointers on how to pick a good place to eat authentic Venetian food. It is a walking tour and except for the 35 minute sit down dinner, you are standing or walking. Would definitely recommend.

It was incredible, our guide Marie told us loads about the history of the local culture and how it affects the present as well as recommending some amazing food spots. All the food and wine was incredible and manages to be good for both the adventurous and non adventurous. Only thing I wasn’t so keen on was the coffee (but I’m also a coffee heathen who prefers overly sugared hot milk with a dash of caffeine to real coffee (not sorry)) apart from that everything was an easy 10/10.

The food tour was incredible. We ate like locals. Don’t eat beforehand. Nicolo did a great job walking us through the best of Venetian dining, including some squid ink pasta (surprisingly good, though the name might scare some people away). Our walking food tour with Mercedes was such a wonderful way to introduce us to Venice and what to eat. Mercedes was so great and definitely made this a fun and entertaining way to sample so many wonderful foods and wine. We enjoyed trying many spots and I would definitely recommend this tour. If I had any suggestions, the last spot with the sit down dinner would have been nice to have maybe one other option than the pasta served as it was not my favorite but still gave it a try! Grazie!

Carlo was the best. And the gelato in this tour was hands down our favorite. We had several food tours during our time in Italy and this was amazing. The food and wine were plentiful and we did this tour in lieu of dinner. Totally worth it.

We LOVED this tour!! We had the pleasure of having Carlo as our tour guide. He was kind, knowledgeable and fun!! Great personality and kept a decent pace. With how busy the streets were, I was shocked he kept us all together and continuously fed. There wasn’t a moment that went by the I was hungry. By the end of the night, I was thinking….
