What are people saying about Venice

It was so nice to have...
It was so nice to have someone so knowledgeable guiding us. The Dolomites are breathtaking, and our guide took us some places we’d probably never know about if we went on our own. He customized the agenda for our group. He was also very personable and a joy to hang out with for the day.

Amazing tour of Doge’s Palace and St. Mark’s Basilica
This tour was above and beyond my expectations! The tour in the Doge’s Palace was fantastic. Our tour guide Simonetta was so knowledgeable, and we really appreciated and enjoyed the history telling combined with the tour. I wish we had a little bit more time in St. Mark’s Basilica, as I thought that part felt a bit rushed. However that did not take away from the amazing sites.

Great day trip from Venice!
This tour was excellent! We arrived at the train station in Venice and boarded a train for about a 50-minute ride. Carlo was waiting for us at the station when we arrived. Before starting the Prosecco tour, he offered us a beverage and gave us time to use the restroom. He also provided cold bottled water for the drive, which was a thoughtful touch.
I would strongly recommend this tour. Everything was well organized, Carlo was a fantastic host, and we had an amazing time!

Request Eleonora as your guide!
Definitely request Eleonora for your tour guide! She was amazing! My husband and I did a private tour with Eleonora. She met us at our hotel lobby and we departed in a private water taxi. She was sooooo informative about Venice as well as the surrounding islands. We learned so much and were so grateful for all of the information. Our private tour of a glass factory was captivating, despite being quite hot (heat wave in June). Burano was beautiful too. It was nice to have a private water taxi take us around for the tour. We highly recommend doing this tour, especially with Eleonora, as you will learn way more about Venice and the islands versus doing any other type of tour while in Venice!

The trip was very...
The trip was very organized and informative - a great way to get out of Venice for a day trip and experience the Dolomites. Matteo, our guide, was knowledgeable, funny, and engaging. He shared lots of interesting information and it was obvious he enjoys what he does.

A must do while in Venice!
Stefania was a wonderful guide on our Dolomites excursion. She gave us such great insights and facts about the region and its history along our journey. She made our journey throughout the day incredible and incredibly easy. This experience has been the highlight of our trip thus far. Can’t say enough great things about her and this trip!

Definitely recommend!
We had spent several days in Venice so I was wondering if this would hold anything new. The tour guide was great! He shared so much information we otherwise wouldn't have known. Even for the places we had previously visited, the information made it worth visiting again. I especially liked learning about the Jewish Ghetto area and memorial.
I definitely recommend this tour!

St. Mark’s Basilica and Doges Palace both a must see
Everything about this tour was excellent.
Meeting place was well organized and professional with an air conditioned office to wait in.
Our tour guide was so very knowledgeable and easy to understand.
Always kept us informed of timing, distances, tickets and security.
The Basilica and Palace were both so beautiful to see and interesting to learn all the history of Venice.
A definite must do with this company City Wonders.

Wonderful experience
Had the best time traveling from Venice to the Dolomites with our small group and Marco. The weather was a bit rainy and cloudy, however, Marco did his absolute best to make sure we had the best experience and even stopped on our route multiple times to catch a glimpse and photos of the mountain ranges when they would peak out from the clouds. Such a great switch up from Venice, would highly recommend!

A concise and thorough highlight tour
Our tour guide did a wonderful job of guiding us through the crowds and explaining the many historic highlights along the way. We got to bypass the line for the gondola ride so it was an efficient use of our time. He offered to take photos of us in front of the significant parts such as the Rialto Bridge. There is a lunch break in the middle of the day and we went to the pizza restaurant he recommended which was a great choice! Would recommend for a great overview of Venice.

Day to the Venice lagoons
It was a good excursion to a Murano and Burano . Little crowded and minor delays. Our tour guide David spoke the most and told us entire history of Venice and even walked group to get a cookie in Burano. Went the extra mile for sure. Never did the third island and really not recommended. Burano was worth staying on longer!!!

Don’t be Afraid of Classical Music
You don’t have to be a classical music lover to enjoy this trip back in time, through music
Traveling for the first time to Italy with friends & family. We thought getting a glimpse of old world Venice through music would be cool and it was. Don’t know anything about classical music but do know a few names of the old composers, Vivaldi is one and seeing how his “The Four Seasons” work is the most famous, and he was from Venice it made sense to go to the performance. We all had a wonderful time and the music was very engaging & lively. I think what really added to the performance, especially if you weren’t a classical music lover, was that the musicians dressed in the costumes of the period. You could imagine yourself in the 18th Century & listening to a concert of Vivaldi. We were looking for something uniquely “Venetian” and this concert fit the bill. Of course it was for “tourists” but it definitely had a different “flavor” other than the regular “tourist” things to do in Venice. We upgraded our tickets to “Skip the Line- Sit in the First Thee Rows”. It was worth it to be right up front. Like I said earlier, no one in our group was a classical music fan but we all enjoy good music whatever the genre. We heard good music & enjoyed the showmanship. It was a great activity and an end to a beautiful day in Venice.

Not seeing something you are looking for?
Pulling yourself away from Venice’s splendor can be a challenge, but this city on the sea is the perfect base for exploring the surrounding Veneto region or even further afield. Venice day trips are a seamless way to visit destinations as close as islands in the Venetian lagoon or as far as the UNESCO-listed Dolomite peaks without managing tricky logistics alone. Sip Prosecco in the Valdobbiadene vineyards, admire iconic sports cars in the Motor Valley museums or discover Veneto gems like Verona and Lake Garda with hassle-free transportation directly from Venice.
