What To Expect

Getting from Venice Marco Polo Airport to your hotel or private residence can be complicated, but it doesn’t have to be. This convenient boat transfer (for a minimum of two people) takes all the hassle out of renting a car or paying for a taxi boat after a flight.

Just enter your details when you book, and your shared transfer is confirmed instantly. When you land, show your voucher to the driver and hop inside the boat. Where possible, the boat will alter its route to allow you to get off at the nearest stop to your hotel. Read the Itinerary for a list of stops.

We had a fantastic experience with the Water Taxi transfer from Venice Airport to the city center. The entire process was incredibly easy and very well organized from start to finish. They grouped passengers efficiently, which made everything run smoothly without long waiting times. The journey itself was a highlight — arriving in Venice by water taxi is absolutely beautiful and such a memorable way to start your trip. We were dropped off very close to our accommodation, which made things even more convenient. The staff were friendly, helpful, and very accommodating throughout. This was a terrible experience — no communication whatsoever. We weren’t told where to meet, who to look for, or any details. Once we arrived at the destination, the driver asked for payment, and we explained we’d already paid. We ended up arguing with him about the prepayment. There were clearly some major misunderstandings on the vendor’s part. I’ve booked many things through Viator before, and this is the first time I’ve had such poor communication with a vendor.

Smooth easy process but only after I read comments about checking in at desk 71 first. No directions/instructions were provided by Viator nor vendor and no response to my chat question. It was a beautiful scenic ride into Venice.

Instructions did not include where and how to pick up our vouchers. Spent 30 min. wandering around and asking multiple people in the industry and they were confused by Victor's instructions. Piled into a small boat with too many people. Had to sit on top of luggage. The experience was so poor I passed on Viator for other excursions.

You must get your ticket before you exit the airport. Our driver was not helpful. There was an older woman in a wheelchair who needed assistance entering the boat and the driver did not help her.

I wish I had known to stop for a transfer before heading down to the docks where the water taxis were located. I also did not really ze that all the passengers would be waiting at the kiosk area and walking down together to the dock when enough people had gathered for the shared ride.

Be prepared for fast boat which was good. And Desk 71 was a bit hard to find. Gave good directions to hotel. We did have to wait a bit once got to desk but did have a reservation.

This was perfect for me. I was the last stop from the airport to St Mark's Square. So I had an outside seat on the boat at the back. That's why I rate the experience 5 stars. if I'd been sat inside under cover, I wouldn't. It was almost 2 different experiences. A nice journey, great experience and lots to see on the way. The weather was perfect, which in my opinion added to the ambience. The driver was friendly and courteous. The St Mark's Square stop was perfect to be straight into the activity hub.

It’s a lovely way to get from The airport into the city, I do recommend it. The one I booked claimed to be private, but it most definitely was not, we shared the taxi with 8-10 strangers. It was absolutely beautiful to come in in the early evening and get to cruise into town during sunset.

The trip was fine and it was easy to get to the boat. I didn't understand the difference between this shared-ride boat and a private charter. There is a list of stops that they can go to, and, even if there's one closer to your place, you'll get dropped off where at one of the listed stops. For is this meant about 7 minutes extra walking, but that's nothing in Europe and especially nothing in Venice, where everything is a walk. Anyway, they kept their end of the bargain and got us there.

The counter for the water taxi is relatively easy to find. They gave you instruction clearly. And usually there’s a bit of wait. The taxi ride to Venice took longer than I expected. The taxi moved quickly on the water and can be rough from time to time. It was a hot day so getting stuck inside the ship wasn’t hot. The whole journey took longer than expected. But overall it’s a different experience for sure.
