This is a Must if you are a sushi fan. Experts Teri and Shim are pros who explained the delicate works of sushi. It was most delicious and informative. This Michelin restaurant was clean and easy to access.

We booked this many weeks in advance of our trip from New York to Tokyo. We showed up to the restaurant, and it was closed. We tried contacting the vendor (Viator did too) with no response via email, text and call. We were so looking forward to this, and our afternoon was ruined spent trying to get a refund while finding another activity while on vacation. AVOID!
Response from Host, Sep 2025
We are truly sorry for the unacceptable experience and the frustration it caused during your visit to Tokyo.
Due to an internal oversight on our part, the necessary preparations at the sushi restaurant were not properly completed, and the venue was closed upon your arrival. This was entirely our responsibility, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment.
We are thoroughly reviewing our procedures to ensure that such a situation never occurs again.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback—it is invaluable in helping us improve.

Don’t miss out on this chance for real learning and delicious food! After suiting up with sushi chef outfits, our chef and teacher taught us the deceivingly simple method for making sushi — it was hard to make our nigiri look as perfect as the master chef’s nigiri! We worked with beautiful cuts of fish and had a great time crafting and eating.

Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful and detailed review. We're so glad to hear that you enjoyed both the hands-on learning and the delicious sushi. Making nigiri alongside a master chef can certainly be a humbling experience, and we appreciate your kind words about the quality of the ingredients and overall experience. We hope your time with us added something memorable to your stay in Tokyo.

We have only given a 3 out of 5 points due to the following points:
Since it was a cooking class, we assumed that the chef also knows English. Unfortunately, this was only very rudimentary. Communication and questions were in fact not possible, which was a real shame.
In addition, the course was given as 1.5 h. We were essentially done after an hour.
The chef himself was very friendly, also the quality of the sushis was very good. However, there were not 14 per person, but only 7 sushi.
All in all, we would therefore no longer book it at the price offered.

Thank you for your valuable feedback regarding your recent sushi-making experience. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the quality of the ingredients and the hospitality of our chef.
At the same time, we sincerely apologize that the language barrier hindered your learning and that there was a discrepancy between the advertised program and your actual experience regarding the duration and the number of pieces served. We take your comments seriously and will immediately review our course descriptions and communication standards to ensure they meet the high expectations of our international guests. Your insights are essential as we strive to improve the value and transparency of our service. We hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a more seamless experience in the future.
