This was one of the best ways to spend a day of our lives that I could imagine. The Muir Woods were gorgeous and our driver/guide, Phil, made sure to get us there before the big tour busses arrived. So we were actually able to enjoy some of the quiet beauty before all of the talkative groups arrived with their voices echoing through the valley. The gourmet lunch with wine at Kendall-Jackson vineyards was a visual and tasting delight. The wines are not the ones you can find in the stores, but their special wines you can only get at the winery. The grounds are gorgeous with all the flowers and vegetables that they use on the property and the meals. A great bonus, that we have never seen at any other winery, is a garden with samples of the many different types of wine grapes popular around the world and you can pick and taste them from the vine. Phil was informative, fun, and everyone on the van made friends quickly. We had our own table at the winery and it was very difficult to leave. Phil’s historical tidbits along the way were just right, and he let us pick our own play lists. What a day!

Perfect 1 Day Vday Getaway

Esperanza_N, Feb 2025
The hubby and I did this for Valentine’s Day and had a great time. The hike was around 1-2 miles and very walkable, and the lunch was delicious. It was nice not to drive and just enjoy the scenery. Kurt was very knowledgeable about history and surrounding area. Do recommend for those looking to play tourist for the weekend outside of the city.

Highly recommend (Kurt was great)!!

Kurt was an excellent tour guide! He is an SF native and was informative, engaging and attentive. The day was perfect - our hike through the redwoods was incredible, the lunch at KJ was delicious and fun, and the stops on our ride home at Fort Baker and Palace of Fine Arts were absolutely beautiful. We loved the other tour participants, we all got along and Kurt made the day just perfect. Highly recommend!!

This is your sign to book it

This is your sign to book this experience!!!! We had such a great time, our guide, Kurt, was amazing. The experience at Kendall Jackson was also incredible. My boyfriend is a sommelier and he was really impressed by all the wines we had + the explanations at Kendall Jackson (our waiter Kihorne was wonderful too). The tour was also not full so we were only 4 persons in our group!

Amazing redwoods, food and company!

Walking through the very green, fragrant and peaceful Armstrong Woods. What a refreshing experience! The winery lunch was wonderful and the garden walk interesting. Good guides and very enjoyable fellow travelers. I’d love to do it all again in spring or fall.

You must sign up for this incredible time

If you want to go on a tour that feels like it’s your best friend that lives there is showing you their favorite spots and making sure you avoid the crowds do this. Phil was incredible and communicated the day before to make sure you were ready. He arrived promptly and kept an excellent pace throughout the entire day, it felt like such an intimate experience with us and the few other guests. He took us to the bridge with no crowds and we got incredible photos. I went on a tour with another company and it was crowded and not as beautiful ! Even the forest wasn’t as crowded. We got to stop at a local coffee shop to use the restroom and grab something to drink before our journey. Kendall Jackson was BEYOND INCREDIBLE. Phil knew so much about the property and we got to experience the culinary garden which was stunning. The meal was one of the best I’ve eaten had a great pace and the wines were excellent. The tour was both educational and an amazing time. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to get to experience a beautiful winery but also have a delicious meal. I’ve done a lot of wine tours and this was the best one I’ve ever gone on. Well worth the money. Truly an unforgettable experience.

Great experience

We have a good time and our experience are wonderful, we like our guide David , he’s fun and very kind , it was so convenient to be pick up and drop off, David gave us enough time to stroll at the beautiful Redwood and enough time to enjoy our 5 course meal and 6 glass of different wines to enjoy, we are even able to enjoy the vineyard on a leisure walk, highly recommended

Our tour guide Steven was...

Our tour guide Steven was fantastic; a native San Fran with great history and other fun tidbits shared. Pickup was smooth, the other 12 people in the group were a blast. Armstrong Redwood Park was incredible and the 90’ time there was just right to explore and work up an appetite for the winery. Kendall Jackson wine tasting was truly amazing - single estate wines paired with a phenomenal 4 course meal. We would highly recommend this small group tour and having a chauffeured experience post wine appreciated! Steven made a special stop to take in the Golden Gate bridge on the ride home. Perfect day!

Exceptional

Awesome trip out of San Francisco with nature, incredible food and wine

Tommy_L, Jun 2023
We got picked up in a comfortable van with just 8 other people and headed for a stop at Fort Point for some great photos of the Golden Gate bridge. We then set off on the 90 minute journey to the Armstrong forest- when we arrived there it was like we had it to ourselves. We had free to time to explore this beautiful spot and take in the amazing redwoods before we were picked up and taken to the Winery. We had the most incredible lunch (some of the best food on our vacation) paired with some beautiful wines, all in an absolutely stunning setting. The group all eat together and we were lucky everyone bonded and we enjoyed this meal together over some interesting chat. Our guide/driver David was fabulous giving us just the right amount of information and there to get us everywhere quickly and safely. Honestly I can't recommend this day enough.

Exceeded expectations

Douglas_K, May 2023
Driver was very personable and helpful. He was half the fun of the trip. Transportation was comfortable and easy to access. The redwoods were wonderful and the lunch/wine tasting exceeded expectations.

Super day!

Steve shared his knowledge and experience of San Francisco. The peacefulness of the Redwoods was wonderful, and the lunch at Kendall Jackson’s was delicious. Loved it all.

Great day in the woods …

Ronda_F, Feb 2023
Great tour to the Redwood forest. Remember to take warm coats as it is very cold! The vineyard was stunning and the wine paired lunch delicious. Our tour guide Steve was very personable and gave just the right amount of information.

Jacky the host with the most.

Maria_E, Oct 2022
Steven the tour guide was a joy. Jacky was awesome. Sorry I didn't get to see the apples on the tree. Maybe on my next visit. Not a wine drinker but I the pinot was my favorite.

Fantastic Wine Tasting, Redwood and Tour Experience

Lisa_B, Sep 2022
Wonderful Tour! Our guide, Phil, made the experience memorable. Interesting information on San Francisco and surrounding areas, great music and great company. The wine pairing and lunch at Kendall-Jackson was fantastic! Would recommend this excursion, well worth the money.

Redwoods and wine what could go wrong.

This trip was just an incredible day! Our guide Phil brought us to the best spot! It was an easy walk around the trees and the lunch was fantastic.

Absolutely fantastic experience!

AnneAndy, Nov 2021
We had a fantastic experience with this tour, and would recommend it to anyone! We were the only ones on the tour, which was lovely since it was for our anniversary. Our guide (one of the owners) went out of his way to ensure it was a fantastic experience. Although the tour doesn't include tastings at 204 different wineries like several of the other tours offered at this price point, it's all about quality over quantity. We learned tons of history of the city and surrounding areas, the food and wine were delicious, and the walk in the redwood forest was one of the most relaxing parts of our trip. But overall it was our guide who made all the difference. He made it feel like a friend taking you out and showing you only the best sites. We will certainly be returning for another tour with them, and would gladly send anyone we know their way for a fantastic and worthwhile excursion.

This was an absolutely fantastic day trip!!

What an amazing tour! Brian not only was very knowledgeable with fun facts about the city, wine country, and the Muir Woods but he offered some great alternatives as well. Muir Woods park was stunning, I was happy to get there first thing in the morning as we were able to explore it without a ton of people there. The meal experience at Kendall Jackson winery was nothing short of spectacular. The food was delicious and we were able to walk around their gardens to take pictures. I look forward to booking this tour again in the future when I have more friends visit from back home.
