I would 100% recommend this tour! Einar is an excellent guide and very informative. We had a great time seeing the hot springs and lava fields and ended the trip with a visit to sky lagoon which I highly recommend

Peter was an excellent tour guide. He came with us every step of the way including the climb up to the crater. The weather was not really cooperative but it did make for some great pictures. Peter told us all about the recent eruptions and the history of the volcano. He was very knowledge about the area and answered all our questions. I would recommend this tour. The sky lagoon was also an amazing end to a rainy day.

Walking the lava field is amazing but hiking up the volcano in miserable weather not so amazing. If it's a nice day go ahead but highly recommend you only go half way on a rainy day. If you spare yourself you can enjoy the sites more. The lagoon is wonderful after a cold hike and very beautiful. Peter was swoll, funny and a hell of a hiker. He was our favorite guide throughout the trip.

Hiking an actual brand new lava field was a phenomenal experience! The hike up the monstrosity of a hill to see the caldera was hard - not only is is STEEP (I fell a few times despite hiking boots), but the wind is strong and can push you around too. The additional sky harbor was a nice touch after a strenuous day!

Amazing time! Lucked into seeing an actually active erupting volcano! Unbelievable once is a lifetime experience! Tour Guide Thomas was awesome!

Had a great time with friends. Definitely bring layers in case the weather changes quickly. Guide was awesome as well !

The lava fields and the hike to view the volcano were stunning. Our guide Peter was very accommodating.

Wonderful trip, knowledgeable tour guide, just not enough time for the Sky Lagoon, probably due to late pick up time. Will be better if the trip start half an hour earlier. Overall, highly recommended trip and tour guide

The tour was very informative and enjoyable. So much beauty and amazing sites. Seeing all the geology wonders was amazing. Our tour guide Brian who was Morocco was very knowledgeable. Give him a 10🤩🤩

Einar the tour guide was knowledgeable, courteous, considerate and funny. The hot springs and lava fields trip was enjoyable and educational. The Sky Lagoon experience was unforgettable- bathing in hot, gently sulfuric water under the cold rainy Icelandic skies. Thank you!

Poor communication by company made us miss the pickup. I specifically asked that we be picked up at our hotel at least three times from March to June as that what is allegedly offered on the website. Co sent me two emails and a phone call late at night asking if we wanted to go to Sky Lagoon the day before the tour. No mention of a change in pickup location. I answered the emails and said “no” to the Sky lagoon. Each of these emails said that we will be picked up at the selected location. My selected location was the hotel.
After the three communications The night before the tour, when I was already sleeping, another email from the company came saying they can’t pick us up at hotel but bus stop no. 1
In the morning I thought all was fine in the am and did not pick up emails as the co And I had been in communication about our preference for an additional optional stop 3 times the previous day.
After waiting 30 minutes outside our hotel for pickup suggested I wanted to call the co to see about the delay and found The late night email with the change of location-came through.
So we walked to bus stop no1… got there a little after 9:15 (pickup was to be 9:00: to 9:30)and found out from a local person the pickup bus had been there earlier.
I emailed, called, the hotel staff called for me as soon as I found out the change of pickup. No answer at the company.
After a few hours The co emailed me telling me it was my fault for not looking at emails. Well I don’t look or answer emails in the middle of the night. Additionally they had communicated three times with me the previous day with no mention of a pickup location change.
The fourth time and email overnight was when they told me about the location pickup change.
So we missed the tour.
It is aggravating that the company did not let us know they were changing the pickup location within the 3 months we thought we were going on this tour and waited to the late night before the tour started to change the location of pickup, even with 3 communications between us the day before the tour.
Response from Host, Jul 2022
Yes, you missed pick up.
We replied to all of your messages (3 times) on the Viator platform informing you that your hotel was in a pedestrianized zone where it was impossible to drive a bus.
We tried calling 16hrs ahead but it went straight to answer the phone.
This just goes to show how important it is to have your cell phone working and to have access to the internet. The fact is we did everything we could to contact you. You simply were unreachable.
We are very willing to refund you, all you have to do is contact us on:

Our driver James was so knowledgeable and accommodating. NOTE: while I was unable to complete the entire Lava Fields hike, it was no problem for me to hang back. Know that the full hike is quite strenuous & the lava fields require care when walking.

I went on a similar tour the day before (the volcano guided tour) and this one was great. Tom, the guide, was very knowledgeable and took us to many different sites, including the geothermal area of Krysuvik and to the valley of lava created by Fagradalsfjall. Working as a hydrogeologist, I helped Tom to explain a few things! You can even take a few rock samples of some of the youngest rocks on the planet. I recommend both this tour and the volcano guided tour, each of the tours went to a few places the same, but some different. Totally worth it!

Sky lagoon was fully booked but a big part of why I paid was to be dropped and picked up from sky lagoon. Would be nice to book ahead or tell your participants to book ahead since the tour says 'with sky lagoon' but it got cut off from the tour. Didn't make any effort to substitute a local pool or other activity. should tell ppl to just bring a lunch since lunch at a grocery store.
Lava hiking part pretty good.

Despite the expected Icelandic weather (icy cold gale force wind and rain) we had a great day; just make sure you pack warm, waterproof gear! The lava fields were amazing and all the stops very interesting. We didn't go to the Sky Lagoon so can't comment on that, but would recommend the rest of the trip. James, our guide, was very knowledgeable and friendly.

HI, we did this tour on 11/3/22, we had John as our driver and guide and he was amazing! This trip took us off track to the really touristy ones, we both said it was the most amazing experience, we walked across a lava field, the wind to get there was astonishingly strong, so much laughter and everyone on the tour was helping each other, Johns knowledge of geology and Icelandic history the landscape was fantastic, we also saw some amazing hot springs, coastline with waves like we have never seen before, we walked over snow, ice, lava fields we never knew what was coming next, thoroughly recommend this trip! After we did the Sky Lagoon, basic package, also brilliant, totally loved this day it was our favorite of the trip! Sorry it took me so long to do the review!

Amazing from start to finish. Einar- our tour guide made the whole day super entertaining and made the whole experience even more special. Highly recommend this for the incredible sights and tour!

Although the weather was cold, our tour guide/ driver was amazing. The sites were beautiful, lunch was very pleasant and Sky Lagoon is a must!
Katherine_L, Mar 2022
It was canceled. Roads closed
They canceled a little before 7am, which was perfect for us.
We just went back to bed. Very disappointed, but not much you can do about the weather
Response from Host, Mar 2022
This is a very unfair comment! As you rightly point out, the roads out of Reykjavík were closed due to the weather and therefore it was not possible for us to operate, and so it is said, no operator could operate this day from Reykjavík. We were just as disappointed as you but weather is simply nothing we can control! Your comment has nothing to do with our quality, it only undermines the credibility of the tour which so far has only received five star reviews. Therefore, the only fair and right thing for you to do is to take down this very unfair comment.

We had an amazing tour with Vala, everything was fantastic despite extremely windy weather, she had crampons available for us which was needed to walk into the lava field as the ice was treacherous and she was very knowledgeable, the only minor issue for us was the mic was very loud, so loud it was painful to listen, we sis mention this but we're told she couldn't adjust the volume, she did try to speak more quietly though!

Lava field trip Was an amazing trip! The smoking lava field is stunning! Tour guid Vala is friendly, patient and funy! We love her.
Joanne_K, Feb 2022
Great trip! Nice small group, tour guide was well knowledgable. Got to walk across the lava field, see many sights and finish off in the sky lagoon which we preferred to the blue lagoon. Would highly recommend this trip!
James_P, Feb 2022
This tour was amazing! You learn a lot about iceland and how it formed and the science included. Our tour guide Pedro was exceptional, he knew the answer and the science behind every single thing we asked and he also told us a lot off of his own back. He did his best to make sure everyone was enjoying the tour. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide, you could tell he enjoyed his job so thank you for a great tour!

Great trip fun and informative with an excellent host. Would recommend this trip to anyone visiting Iceland. Great value for money.

100% worth it. My family of 7 (aged 11-60) all enjoyed. There were lots of stops with really beautiful views and walking across the lava fields should definitely be on everyone's bucket list. Einar, our guide, was great. The sky lagoon is also a really cool add on and a really nice way to end the day, beautiful views and really well done.
Alexandra_R, Jan 2022
Sunrise on the Great Auk beach was amazing, but we enjoyed the whole trip. We finished with a dip and a drink at the Sky Lagoon which we really recommend as a way to finish the day!
Maria_S, Jan 2022
Really great tour, Einar was very knowledgeable and personable and very attentive to the group, paying particular attention to the older members of the tour helping them along on the trickier areas of terrain around the volcano. He made sure every member of the tour had a great experience no matter their ability or experience. Lots of tour stops and the scenery is completely different to any other tour we went on. We stopped at the sky lagoon afterwards which was a perfect way to end the busy day and relax looking at the beautiful views across the bay!

Our tour guide James was great - really knowledgeable about Iceland, full of jokes and tips about the tour. He let us explore the stop places by ourselves (except the volcano, obviously!), which was great because some tour guides can be a bit overbearing. He took us to some beautiful places, pointed out the best places to take pictures, and even recommended menu items to us! It was a really special tour for my partner and I. I highly highly recommend.

Everything from start to finish was perfect!!VALA our tour guide was so friendly and accommodating honestly she couldn’t do enough for us!!! Thank you for a perfect day
Tilly_R, Nov 2021
Lava fields were amazing, our guide picked warm rocks and gave them to us as keepsakes, the lobster soup at the lunch spot was INSANE. The trip was great overall! The walk up to the lava fields was a tad steep, so keep that in mind!
Kenneth_C, Nov 2021
Our tour guide James was exceptional. It felt more like a personal tour than a “bus trip”. This is an amazing country to explore! There was a lot of walking but no real hiking. The Sky Lagoon was a treat - a nice way to end the day.
