We would definitely recommend this trip. It is less touristy than south coast and golden circle trips, but the views here are amazing and out of this world as well. We were lucky to see some seals. And from very far away we could spot a few whales as well. At some view points, the hikes were covered with ice (it had snowed the past couple of days), so crampons are recommended when it snowed. Although you can manage without them if you are careful. I didn’t had these with me, and I still could walk slowly without falling on my face.
We traveled with guide Laura from Nordur travel. She is fantastic and could explain everything very well!
Small tip if you like the scenic views if you are doing small group tours: ask the driver to sit in the chair next to the driver. Most of the time nobody sits there, but you get the best views underway

We were never picked up from our stop our confirming the location and being assured the guide was on the way. Kids and I got soaked for forty minutes on a very cold windy morning waiting for the pick up for no reason. All were very disappointed.

This tour takes you away from all the "big" sights in Iceland and gives you a view of what Iceland was probably like in the time of the Vikings. We were picked up on time at our designated bus stop in a nice warm mini-bus by our guide Petur. This is a long trip with a lot of driving but is worth it if you are really into nauture and history. Petur filled us in on a lot of the history of the area while we were driving. We had plenty of time to explore and get pictures on our stops. I would definitely recommend this tour if you want to be immersed in Iceland and Petur was an excellent guide.

We enjoyed this tour very much! Our tour guide Laura is very helpful and friendly. She’s safe in her driving as well and very knowledgeable. We were able to see all in the itinerary. It was well worth it! Highly recommended!

The Snæfellsnes Peninsula small group tour was one of the most beautiful and peaceful experiences I had in Iceland. If you’re looking to escape the crowds and see a different side of the country, this tour is perfect. The landscapes were so varied between the lava fields, black sand beaches, dramatic cliffs, charming fishing villages, and of course, the iconic Kirkjufell mountain.
Our guide Daphne was fantastic, sharing stories about local folklore, old sagas, and the mystical presence of Snæfellsjökull glacier. The small group setting made the day feel relaxed and personal, with plenty of time at each stop to explore, take photos, and truly soak in the surroundings.
Highlights included Arnarstapi’s rugged coastline, where we walked along lava rock formations with crashing waves below, and Djúpalónssandur beach, a hauntingly beautiful black pebble beach steeped in history. Seeing Kirkjufell and its waterfall was a bucket-list moment; just as breathtaking as the photos, if not more.
What I loved most was the peacefulness of this area compared to the more famous routes. The peninsula feels untouched and raw, with endless views and a sense of Iceland’s wild heart. Even after a full-day tour, I felt refreshed rather than exhausted.
If you’re looking for dramatic scenery, quiet beauty, and a deeper connection to Icelandic nature beyond the Golden Circle, I highly recommend this Snæfellsnes journey. An unforgettable day filled with serenity, storytelling, and spectacular sights.

This was a wonderful tour. The planned stops are a good distance from Reykjavik so a good portion of the tour is spent driving to/from and between the stops. Enough time was allowed at each stop to enjoy them without feeling rushed. I’m glad I booked a tour versus trying to rent a car and drive it myself!

Our guide Laura was wonderful. This was her first time leading this tour, but she did so expertly in both English and Spanish. Part of our issue with the tour is that the company seemed to have put two different language groups together, which made discussion and directions more difficult.
The van was uncomfortable and cramped and it was a long drive. There was also a mix-up with the timing at pick-up due to the company not contacting participants with the correct information early enough in advance.
The trip itself was interesting, some gorgeous scenery.

Wow! Our guide was amazing and was in constant contact with pick up information and was great throughout the tour! He was personable and friendly and had great stories to share. We enjoyed all the stops and the lunch was delicious! We booked a small group tour and it ended up being a private tour for the 5 of us! We highly recommend this tour and this tour company!

It was a long day, but we were prepared for it and our guide ensured everyone was comfortable. Made several stops and had time to walk around and absorb the unique scenery at each.
