The weather was a little rough. But, we caught fish anyway. The captain was very knowledgeable, ran a clean boat, and very determined. We ate some of the catch on the boat after the captain cooked it. Delicious!
Great trip, fanastic boat and super friendly crew, and we caught a ton of amazing fish - cod, haddock and whiting!
Tourist oriented 3 hour sea angling session within the harbour at Reykjavik. All gear is provided, I got a short and stiff rod with the trusty old baby Senator 113H, loaded with mono that looked around 40lb. End rig a couple of crude looking latex commercial lures that transform in the water to look very like a small fish. Tangle resistant and overall as idiot proof as you could wish. The crew, who spoke excellent English, gave a quick and clear demo of what to do. The boat was roomy enough for the 12 anglers aboard, and was clean and well equipped for the task. Fishing was done on the drift with a drogue to slow it up. Iceland has wisely excluded other nations from her seas, and polices that effectively, which means a thriving industry for both commercial and sport fishing. Fishing was excellent, I had haddock, pollack, cod, and coalfish, sometimes two at a time. I think everyone had at least decent results. We drifted three different areas, and on the last the coalfish were so numerous they were grabbing the lures on the drop. If I did get to the bottom, but failed to catch a cod or haddock quickly, I found winding up a few turns immediately hit the coalfish again. We only wanted a modest amount of eating fish so the smaller ones and less tasty species were returned. The crew barbied some cod and haddock for us to eat on the way back, very simple tasty and ultra fresh. As a bonus there were lots of seabirds to see, mainly the greedy fulmars and a good number of puffins. Didn't see a whale this time but sightings are not unusual. If I was lucky enough to return I would like to take my own gear and fish a bit lighter, but I recognise that loan gear needs to be usable for even the least experienced, so they had that right . Great fun and warmly recommended.

This is such an amazing experience and should not be missed! We caught so many fish and the captain and his mates were amazing teachers, helpers and cooks. Highly highly recommend!
Captain Jacob is an experienced sailor and fisherman. His boat is very well equipped and safe. He knew where he wanted to take us to provide the best chance of catching fish. We had a great time and caught several fish. We would recommend his services hands down.
We went after a rain storm, only 3 of us fishing but it was the most amazing experience! Every time we dropped a line in we had a fish! The cooked catch was to die for! Great time for someone with fishing experience!

I recently enjoyed an unforgettable fishing outing with my wife that turned into a delicious feast! We set sail on a sunny afternoon, eager to reel in some haddock and cod. The excitement was palpable as we cast our lines, and soon enough, we were pulling in one catch after another.
After a bountiful day on the water, the brothers of the boat fired up the barbecue. They expertly filleted our fresh catch, seasoning it to perfection while the aroma of grilling fish wafted through the air.
When it was finally time to eat, we gathered around the table, plates piled high with tender, flaky fish. Each bite was outstanding; the haddock and cod had a taste far superior to anything found in a restaurant. It was the freshest seafood I’ve ever had, and I savored every mouthful.
This fishing trip was more than just catching fish—it became a celebration of fresh flavors and the great outdoors. If you’re looking for adventure and a fantastic meal, book this tour and set sail!
I am absolutely not a fisherman but my husband is, so I booked this trip for him. Surprisingly I had a wonderful time! Vigfus and his brother were so patient and kind, explaining how I should hold the rod and release the line. Even more surprising, I caught the largest cod of the day and a haddock they said “doesn’t get any bigger than that”. Our grilled catch was delicious and a real trip bonus! Even if you aren’t a fisherman, this is a wonderful experience. I highly recommend.
Loved it. Solid guides. Not overcrowded. Caught lots of fish Pleased a 78 year old and an 11 year old- tough to do.
This was a wonderful trip. The brothers are great guides, very helpful and willing to share stories and laughs. They also cook an amazing cod.
We had a blast fishing! Our boat caught some monster cod and the team cooked the catch to perfection for us on the way back to the harbor. My husband is still giddy about the experience, and the price is fantastic considering that there’s a meal included and it’s Reykjavik, where food is pricey. I’ve done deep sea fishing elsewhere, but this was much more fun because the conditions allow participants to do most of the work themselves. Highly recommended, it was a very memorable afternoon for us.

The fishing was amazing. Everyone on the boat caught multiple fish; some very big ones too. The Captain and Mate were very nice and helpful. The fish is caught, cleaned, cooked, and served before you even get back to the dock; doesn't get any fresher. My 17 yr old son and I had a blast.

This is a review of VIATOR not the tour provider. Our tour was cancelled due to weather conditions. OK - that happens and is no one’s fault. However when we arrived at the vendor’s office at an early hour, we were informed that the tour was cancelled and that the vendor had notified Viator the night before. However Viator only sent an email to me 35 minutes before the arrival time - which left me no time to arrange for alternate plans. Had I been notified the evening before I could and would have arranged for alternate plans for the day. We had a short trip to Iceland and with more notice could have used that last day of our trip to see other sites. Very disappointed service by Viator.

I cannot believe the amount of fish we caught! We had near perfect weather and calm seas too. Our deck hand, Jacob, had his hands full helping to remove our fish and either toss them to the seagulls or in the bucket for lunch. We caught wolf fish, haddock, cod and Halibut. Even whiting but they were too small. And the best part, the captain cleaned and cooked our catch on board. He even offered to send the fresh filet home if someone had a kitchen.

Awesome experience. I had basically no knowledge of fishing but it was very easy and quick to learn and the hosts were super friendly. We caught a ton of fish and they made a great meal for us at the end. Can't eat any fish fresher than on while still on the ocean!

The captain and crew were great! Very accommodating and passionate about what they do. Very kind to our kids, and patient with them. When I started having issues with sea sickness they got me what I needed and checked on me frequently. We had a great time and we would definitely go out again!

This was my 2nd time fishing with this company. They do a great job of getting you on the fish, and helping you with problems. This day had a wide variety of folks, including beginners and kids. However, we all worked well together and caught quite a few very sizable cod, haddock, mackerel, whiting, a small halibut and a fish they said was rare but could not identify.
They cook a sampling of fish to try and they are delicious! If you happen to be staying nearby, you are welcome to take some fish home with you. (I was on a cruise ship and could not do so).
I'd definitely do this again

I took this excursion with my 13-year-old son and we loved it! The staff is two Icelandic brothers, who are very kind and helpful. There were 12 guests on the boat. The fishing poles are good quality and we fished in 4 different locations. Our group caught lots of fish - Whiting, Cod, Mackerel and Haddock. The crew cleaned and grilled our fish on the boat and served it with sauces and potato salad as we motored back to the harbour. The boat had a head (bathroom) and we were offered coffee and cookies when we boarded. We highly recommend this excursion!

Great trip! Jakob and his brother did a phenomenal job! We caught 30+ fish between the two of us. Then they cooked fresh fish on our ride back to the harbor which was delicious! Highly recommend this activity.

Very fun experience. Were shown how to operate the fishing rod and how to fish.
Caught 2 fish.
Sea was a little too stormy for me and I got motion sickness.

Kind of surprised this tour wasn't more popular. It was short (2-3 hours). It's a normal fishing tour, and they cook it up right there on the boat on your ride back. this tour is PERFECT as it's in the afternoon. So you can spend a nice morning walking through the city, do this in the afternoon, then you have the whole evening to go out. Plus, you will not have any more fresher seafood in iceland period, lol.

We went about 6-9 minutes between catches and we caught alot of large fish.
The lunch on the boat afterwards was excellent, fresh fish we just caught, potatoes and great sauce.
Iceland is all about the sauce.,
