  • This tour has the flexibility to make the most of the seasonal changes such as changes in weather and conditions. During the summer Iceland is characterized by energizing bright nights and midnight sun. Between August and May, if the forecast is suitable, you might even be able to spot the magical show put on by the Northern Lights. It is important to note that a guided Northern Lights hunt is however not included in the tour. Other wonderful and interesting possibilities can also come up during your south coast tour with us as Iceland is full of surprises.
  • We use a couple of different ice caves for our 2 day South Coast tour. Ice caves are ever-changing and unpredictable natural phenomena. We usually visit the Crystal Cave at Breiðmerkurjökull during this tour but when the Crystal Cave is inaccessible we will most likely visit Katla Ice Cave. Which ice cave is chosen will however always depend upon the conditions and safety considerations on the day, sometimes a different ice cave will be visited. If conditions do not allow us to visit an ice cave a glacier hike will be offered as an alternative.
  • Most travelers can participate
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 18 travelers

This tour made my 3 day trip to Iceland one of my favorite places I've ever visited to. Frimann, our tour guide, was awesome, fun and extremely knowledgeable. It was an intimate group setting with 9 of us total and we were able to freely ask Frimann anything. He played us traditional Icelandic music the whole trip as well as tell us the history, customs and traditions and squeezed in a few off the beaten path pit stops. Out of the whole trip Vik beach was my favorite. The stunning lava stone beaches and ominous waves were mesmerizing. The glacier lagoons and waterfalls were also just amazing. The hotel we stayed at, Hotel Skaftafell, was cozy. Equipped with a lounge area bar upstairs and a restaurant. I opted to get dinner with some of my group members and Frimann and it was one best meals of my life at Hotel Skaftafell! It was Artic char served over roasted veggies, a must try. We couldn't have been any luckier with a great host like Frimann and the service provided on this tour was exceptional.

What a lifetime experience! Our guide so sorry that I did not get his name always kept us informed about the weather winter weather in Iceland is very unpredictable, the pit stops, time, and what to do/see of each attraction. Glacier hike/cave exploration definitely the highlight of this 2 day tour. My 10 year old son kept saying This is so fun. Absolutely an experience for us from California. The overnight newly opened hotel is better than we expected-spacious, modern, and clean. Scenery in Iceland is so magical. If not for the storm hitting the time we were there, I believe our guide would also have brought us to hunt the northern lights.

We very much enjoyed this tour. Adolf's English was perfect. He did a great job keeping the group informed and was knowledgeable about Iceland. The overnight hotel was basic but very comfortable with a nice restaurant.

Allows you to discover the south without taking a headache with a car rental ... considering the weather conditions!

Excellent tour - Hilmar best guide tour

mariela_a, Feb 2020
