Dawn was an amazing tour guide-patient and kind. She gave lots of history and involved a nice local man’s history into our time together. My husband and I enjoyed the morning immensely!!

My son and I had such a great time with Port City Bike Tours! Marcus was a wonderful guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience so enjoyable.
I was a little reluctant going into it because I honestly never bike, but it ended up being so much fun and much easier than I expected. Marcus made me feel completely comfortable and more than capable the entire time.
It was such a fun way to explore the city and a great experience to share with my son. Highly recommend, even if you’re not normally a cyclist!

We were greeted very warmly and bike adjustments were made to fit our group. The guide was very knowledgeable and conducted an informative and interesting tour. One of our senior bikers needed quite a bit of assistance so the frequent "off and on" the bike during the tour was challenging. Although the hills were not described as hills, they were for one of us who was on a regular bike. This was difficult even though the tour was advertised as "easy, mostly flat." One of the bikers was not aware that her e-bike had to be "turned on" each time we stopped so she was traveling quite a bit without the assist which she needed, so more instructions for the e-bike would be advantageous for newcomers. The longer biking adventures around the water was easier and very scenic. We got to know of the beauty of Portsmouth and was very interested in the African Burial Ground.

We also appreciate your thoughtful feedback. Before every tour we spend time fitting each guest to their bicycle and reviewing how to safely operate our e-bikes, including the pedal assist system. We understand that for guests who are new to e-bikes or who have different comfort levels with cycling, there can still be a learning curve, and your comments are a helpful reminder for us to reinforce and reiterate those instructions throughout the ride.
Our Islands and Harbor tour is designed to be an easy-paced ride with mostly flat terrain, though there are a few gentle inclines and several stops along the way to explore historic sites and hear the history. We always encourage guests to let us know about any mobility or cycling concerns ( balance issues) before the tour so we can recommend the most suitable bike and help ensure everyone has the best possible experience.

Easy breathtaking views and beautiful houses Marcus was great telling the history of the forts and navy shipyard . He also gave you great ideas for other places to go in town.

We had a wonderful time on our Portsmouth bike ride. Donna was fantastic - knowledgeable and friendly! We learned a lot about the area and history of Portsmouth. Bikes were easy to use and in great condition. Overall a fun way to see the city and surrounding area!

Paul, our tour guide, was knowledgeable and personable. I went solo and ended up meeting four lovely ladies who also did the tour. I’m not a regular bike rider, but would highly recommend this experience. Loved it! Thanks, Paul!

We took this bike tour in May. Location was easy to find & the guides were like historians! Informative about the area & history, answered our questions, kept us safe on the streets., had plenty of stops for photo ops.
Bikes were comfortable.
Be sure to bring a bottle of water with you.

We absolutely loved this bike tour of the City. This was our first bike tour and Dawn nailed it! We asked for history and historical sites and she gave us that plus more. One of our favorites on vacation. Great job Dawn!

It was such a great experience, from the guide(s) Dawn and Tammy, learning about the history of Portsmouth and surrounding communities we could have spent all day with them. Tammy in particular because she was our actual "ride guide". It was not over strenuous for a 70 and 60 year old who have not been on a bike in 40+ years! If we ever felt "whipped" Tammy was great and planned a few minute rest stop with additional area information. The day was sunny, cool (50's) and a Friday morning (not much traffic for the few roads we did have to travel on). Only thing I might add would be if there was a tour "option" for our guide to take & join us for lunch at a local restaurant - because more info with local flavor would be a stp above!

My friend and I ended up needing something to do in Portsmouth. We luckily stumbled upon a bike tour and had the best time! Our guide, Tammy, was AMAZING! So knowledgeable and fun! I definitely want to take another tour when I’m back in town. This as an absolute must do!

The entire bike ride was comfortably paced and not rushed, including stopping to get water and a bathroom break. It was scenic from start to finish and very relaxing. Marcus was laid back and passionate regarding the area and history of Portsmouth and New Castle, New Hampshire. Looking over the Piscataqua River to Maine was cool. I will be back for another tour and found a beautiful, scenic park off the beaten path to spend the day at picnicking and watching the boats sail by. Rich in history and beauty!

I had a great experience! Paul, our tour guide, was very interactive and knowledgeable. He made the experience so much better. The pace was perfect.
A fun adventure filled with history, moderate exercise, and lovely views. We had time to enjoy a break at each stop while we learned about each location. Our guide had a pleasant personality and kept a good pace for everyone in our group.
Had a blast with Vinnie out tour guide! The bikes were comfy and easy to ride. The scenery was spectacular and Vinnie made it very interesting with his historical references. Would absolutely recommend!
Dawn is a great guide who led us through the beautiful natural and historical sites of Portsmouth! The ride provided the best vantage point and the information was very interesting!
