The men were very informative & helpful. The food & wine were great. Views were awesome. We appreciated the blankets when the sun went down,
It’s not often I book a tour like this and feel totally overwhelmed by the experience. This cruise far exceeded my expectations. We met at the dock at the assigned time and saw a large party boat I assumed would be our boat for the evening. Exactly on time crew members came to the top of the dock and started calling out names and took those people away. Got concerning when we waited through several of these rounds before our name was called but everything was as it should be. But to my surprise, while we started heading toward the large party boat we stopped halfway down the dock at a much smaller boat. Only 4 couples total would be on our boat and as I looked up and down the dock I noticed many other similar boats. Once we were situated in cushions on the bow of the boat our regatta of 20-25 boats set off up the Douro. Wine and a charcuterie board were quickly served and the crew of 3 pointed out the sites as we headed up river. 4 wines in total were eventually served. After about a leisurely 45 minute cruise up river the boats all turned around and headed back toward the coast. As we neared the Atlantic the temps quickly dropped and the crew handed out blankets to each couple. We headed out past the breakwater and bobbed in the gentle swells for maybe 20 minutes watching the sun set. What an incredible view. What a tremendous experience. There are other cruises you can join when you visit the region but none offer the same experience we enjoyed. Shame I can’t give 6 stars. Highly recommended. Be forewarned getting to the bow of the boat can take some agility. And there is nothing in the area when you finish so you will need to wait for a ride back to the bigger parts of the city. But the 2+ hours we were on the boat was amazing,

We had a lovely intimate tour along the river with a breathtaking view of the sunset. Our captain and guide welcomed us as friends and shared lots of history and local details. We would highly recommend this experience!

This trip was a true highlight for us, would highly recommend. We specifically did the wine tasting boat trip with Boat and Wine tours and I feel you have to do this before you leave Porto. By some miracle, we had the boat to ourselves, and it was wonderful. Luis and his team mate were personable, friendly and very informal, taking our lead on the kind of trip we were hoping for. We tried 3 wines and 1 port, which were all premium level and some of the best of our time in Porto, they even threw in some extra refills for us! When we return we will definitely be booking this trip again. I do think the sunset trip sounds amazing, but we booked for lunch time and still incredible.

The itinerary and sunset is nice. We were few just we had an offer to seat on top of the boat. It was nice but It is confusing that is say “wine tasting” when there is just a welcome
Drink. They had plenty wine bottles there but nothing was offered to “taste” for us, not even to buy as it would of been a perfect sunset with a glass of wine in your hand. We were struggling to take pictures on a shaky boat but no one offered to take for me. Oh well, just small details that would make a trip perfect. Just to pay attention to the visitors needs.

This was a fantastic experience, turned out it was only my wife and I on the cruise which was fantastic. Lots of info about the river, the bridges and the city with the sunsetting as well travelled up and down the river. The wine tasting was first class but the real highlight was going out into the bay and sitting at the front of the boat to watch the sun finally set below the horizon.

Booked this boat ride last minute with my two daughters, and it was a perfect way to end our last night in Porto. The boat was very clean and comfortable; the guide was informative and friendly; and the captain and skipper were safe, helpful and well experienced boaters. We booked this boat trip as a way to finish our holiday on a high and we were not dissapointed. The crew were very welcoming and friendly. The young lady, Annie I think her name was, was particularly friendly, serving us drinks and a charcuterie board to share. She also told us some interesting facts about the bridges and sights along the river. We had a lovely view of the sunset over the atlantic before heading back to dock.

We took this sunset cruise on the Douro on July 3rd, and it was hands down the highlight of our entire Porto trip, which is saying a lot since Porto has so many highlights. If I had to sum it up in one word: magical.
We went in expecting a nice ride under the six bridges with a glass of port at the end. What we got far exceeded that. We were the only two passengers on board, so we stretched out at the front of the boat with pillows and blankets (the crew brought these out as the evening cooled), sipping several different wines throughout the trip, not just the port at the end, and enjoying a beautifully arranged charcuterie board along the way.
We learned so much about the history and culture along the Douro as we passed under each of the six bridges, and then the boat continued out into the Atlantic just in time for sunset. Watching the sky change color over the water after a full evening of wine and stories is a memory I will cherish for years to come.
I don’t know if every trip is this intimate, but the level of care we received made it feel personal and not at all touristy. If you are debating whether this experience is worth it, it absolutely is. A spectacular way to spend an evening in Porto.

Gabriela (assistant to captain) provided excellent wine and snacks (nice touch) the port was fabulous
Maria (guide) was very knowledgeable about Porto the bridges and the Portuguese culture the love for her country shone through (hope she enjoys the 24/6 celebration )
Despite the rain, cloud and no sunset the experience was amazing
