Our teacher, Summer, was encouraging, fun, and helpful. Great with kids & adults. Johnny helped us get our wet suits on. They were a good thickness that we didn’t feel the cold temp of the water.

Overview

Pismo Beach is a surfing hot spot, with riders coming from all over California to catch a wave here. While you could just watch surfers from the shore, it’s much more fun to experience the thrill for yourself with a surf lesson. Instructors will guide you through the basics and get you out into the water. Plus, there’s no need to rent equipment with a surfboard and wetsuit included.

      Look for our big white box truck in the parking lot that is on Addie & Park street down by the beach. There are a couple surf schools so make sure that you get the RIGHT one. "SANDBAR SURF SCHOOL" and "SURF LESSONS" will be all over a big white box truck.

    You got to go get a surf lesson from Sand Bar! This guy is such a fun person gave my granddaughter a very good lesson she was in a group of 5 people! He makes it all so easy and a true professional highly recommend Sand Bar Surf!! 🏄‍♀️

    My daughter and I had a wonderful experience with our surf lessons. It was our first time. The instructors were super positive and patient. They give you wet suits and boards. Before you head out into the surf they have you stretch, warm up, and give you a tutorial on the proper form. The instructors are out there with you helping and encouraging you the entire time, but they also give space to go at your own pace. Surfing isn’t easy but we caught a lot of waves. Awesome experience would recommend to everyone!

    My 2 sons (18 and 17) had huge smiles on their faces when they finished their lesson. They both said they had a wonderful time. The instructor was very supportive and patient. Highly recommend.

    I really enjoyed the lesson and had great time. The instructor was great and made sure that I progressed well enough to stand up on the board and ride a long wave. Highly recommend this lesson.

    It was my 6 year old son’s first surfing lesson and the teacher was very accommodating and helpful. I would suggest an afternoon lesson though as we went at 08:30 and the water was freezing and he could only manage half the lesson.

    Hi! Yes, I thought we had it set that 6 yo's couldn't go just because of that they are too young for the 8 yr old and up group lesson and just get too cold during the spring weather times that it is best to learn (afternoons are crazy windy so we don't do them) but we did our best to accommodate and if we could change the we the temperature of the water, we certainly would! :) Jonny and the SSS crew

    Super betreut, die 2h gingen viel zu schnell vorbei! Auch wenn es sehr schwiegrig war zu surfen, haben die Surflehrer einem immer motiviert und unterstützt! Hat einfach nur Spass gemacht für meine 1. Surflektion
