Top Palermo Food Tours

Really enjoyable. 4 hours flew by. Staff really friendly and food was delicious. Equipment provided helpful. Boat/journey steady, not rocky. Enough space for the 12 people travelling too. You’ll need your sunscreen. Didn’t use it but toilet on board fyi. Meeting point easy to find too. No notes but we were informed the evening before that the start time was an hour earlier than advertised. No problem for us as we didn’t have any plans either side of that but something to factor in just in case.

We booked this tour independently from our MSC cruise as we were in port from 9am to 6pm and this cooking experience was 3 hours. We walked from the port (15 minutes), the cooking school was easy to find and there’s an outside market that is a foodie paradise nearby if you arrive a little early. Our chef was Salvo and this experience was not only educational, and delicious but so much fun! The pizza making was all hands on and the final ingredient was the best pizza we had in Italy and we each made it ourselves! The Gelato well that was simply paradise! Salvo was a fantastic chef who interacted with each person making sure everyone stayed confident and his sense of humor is infectious and it’s clear he lives what he does! How much did we enjoy this experience? Well Amazon has been delivering tools and proper flour for us for days to recreate the recipes we were provided such that we can recreate this at home tomorrow when we return. Salvo thank you for a truly unique and fantastic experience!

Fabrizio was fantastic! He clearly loves his home town of Palermo and is very knowledgeable about history and traditions. Honestly we weren’t sure what to think of Palermo after arriving at night and not seeing much of the city before the tiur but after tasting wonderful food and hearing about its history we now have a place in our hearts for the people, sites and food of the city. Would highly recommend the tour and Fabrizio.

Alessandro was our excellent guide. The food was fantastic and he brought food and culture history into the event always pointing out interesting and lesser known information. Alessandro is a natural guide - kind, inquiring, and thoughtful. He took us to restaurants and food places we would have never found. It was like being guided by the mayor - he knew everyone! Take this tour and you’ll be very lucky if Alessandro is your guide!

Emma was an awesome guide. She was witty, knowledgeable about the food and the city and she adapted to the speed and interests of the group. She gave us one of the best food tour ever and showed us places and foods we would never have found on our own.

Dario, our driver, was friendly and flexible with the schedule as it was a private tour. We spent more time at Moreale and Cefalu and skipped the castle completely. Dario recommended a great restaurant in Cefalu with great view, delicious food, reasonable price, and excellent service. Truly enjoyed the whole day experience.

Equal parts history and food, which made this the perfect tour for us. Our guide, Dominic, was outstanding. He was informative and entertaining, helped us to understand the impact of the various invaders on the city of Palermo and took us to one off the beaten path place-the city Archive-which was one of the tour highlights. The market was fun and we sampled all the city's famous street food.

This cooking class was so much fun! Michael was very knowledgeable about different authentic Italian dishes. My mom and I enjoyed shopping in the market and eating the food at the end. The pace of the class was perfect and the food we made was amazing! We highly recommend this class!
