Its important to know, what happened. Falcone and Borsellino were good man and died because of their jobs and because of the Mafia!
Kayla_F, Jul 2026
This tour was incredibly informative about how organized crime affected Sicily and especially Palermo. Our guide took us around the city and explained what life was like before the prosecution of the mafia and after. It’s an important part of Sicilian history to learn that is often glamourized, but this revealed how it affected (and still affects) average people.

The tour was incredibly insightful! Valeria was clearly so passionate about the history and the movement and made the experience thoroughly enjoyable. Would 100% recommend.
cosaloco63, Jul 2026
Silvia was very knowledgeable and involved in the movement. We enjoyed the tour, learning so much about it.

In July it is hot and it’s not always possible to find shade which can make the tour uncomfortable. For me the main downside was being unable to clearly hear the tour guide as her voice was not always strong against the background noises from motorbikes etc. otherwise it was informative.

This was a historical tour combined with present day information. Our young guide, Guiseppe, was well-spoken, prepared, and sincere. The content could have taken a political tone, but Guiseppe provided balanced facts and let us come to our own conclusions. His love and appreciation for Palermo was evident and heartwarming.

Really interesting insights into the history of the Mafia, steps taken in a partially successful attempt to reduce its influence over the last 20+ years, the wall of remembrance of prosecutors, magistrates, judges and their body guards murdered by the Mafia, all presented by a very passionate guide Attilio who belongs to the organisation working with the public to challenge the Mafia while supporting businesses that refuse to pay the Mafia.

Federico was the perfect guide; he was very friendly and accommodating, knew a lot about the subject, and was really passionate about it. We could ask him any upcoming questions. Thank you Federico

Historical & interesting background of Sicilian life during some terrible and violent mafia times . How they lived

We had a really wonderful experience. The tour was very well paced, super interesting and covered a lot of different topics. Linda was an excellent guide - friendly, extremely knowledgeable and engaging. Highly recommend this tour if you visit Palermo.

Really interesting tour- it was a great experience to learn more about the fight against the mafia in Sicily.
Morven_H, Jun 2026
Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and impassioned. This is honestly one of the best tours I've been on given this is living history and how much this means to the people of Palermo. This really came across from our amazing guide who was so engaging. We learned so much that we didn't know about the impact of the mafia on the city and it's residents and how people are forming a movement to resist extortion and improve the lives of their people. Thank you for the work you do and the insights.

This was an interesting and worthwhile tour that provided a great deal of information about the history of the Mafia in Palermo and the work of the anti-Mafia movement today.
The tour is led by anti-Mafia activists rather than professional tour guides, which was not made clear before booking. While the guide was clearly passionate and knowledgeable, I would have appreciated more historical context connecting events in Sicily to developments in other parts of Italy and the wider world.
At times the presentation felt somewhat repetitive, and some of the guide's political views came through quite strongly. However, the commitment of the activist and the insights that was shared gave the tour a unique perspective that I found valuable.
Overall, I would recommend the tour to anyone interested in understanding Palermo's history and contemporary anti-Mafia activism, although I cannot compare it with similar tours offered by professional guides.

This was a fantastic tour. Linda was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I leaned a lot about the recent history of Palermo and how Mafia is impacted the people who live here. I would highly recommend this tour.

We loved this tour! Learned so much from Sylvie. The passion she brought was evident and what her and others are doing in Palermo to raise awareness is fantastic. It was such a pleasure to be on the tour!

Great tour led by Atillio - he was enthusiastic and very passionate about the Mafia story. A real insight into life in Palermo and across the island of Sicily. Fascinating. Visited Palermo on a cruise for the day and pleased we chose this experience.

It’s a very good learning experience and helps to understand the Cosa Nostra and its impact on Palermo

We loved this as an afternoon activity while staying in Palermo. Our tour guide was very informative and the tour supports the anti mafia movement.

Great guide! The tour was a bit long. We stopped at a stall with the option to buy drinks but I didn’t understand how this worked into the tour. We had to pay our own. Signs said 2 euro but then they charged 5. Apparently just juice was 2 euro. A spritz was 5. It would’ve been better to have included gelato at the end of the tour as part of the price at a No Malfia business since there was a business two doors down from the end of the tour.

factual tour not what we were expecting. our guide was very pleasant and knowledge but a lot of facts , names and dates.
Response from Host, May 2026
Certo, ecco una risposta professionale e gentile:
Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you found your guide pleasant and knowledgeable. We’re sorry, however, that the tour felt more factual than expected. Our aim is to balance historical context with storytelling and meaningful local insight, so your comments are very helpful for us. We’ll take this into account as we continue improving the experience for future guests.
