Absolutely worth it. Take the agency’s preparations seriously and get there on-time with your info as the Italian authorities are all business with multiple security checks. Our guide Marcella (?) was beyond superb…. she basically presents a college course’s worth of context, history and technical detail — when you realize where you’d have been standing in 1944, you realize just how miraculous this whole site really is.

Small Group Access A Positive Experience

Even though this is not a cheap tour the small group access to the painting is amazing. We arrived 30 mins early as advised by message and our guide was waiting ready to provide our tickets and check our details. The access to the painting is strictly for 15 mins and you can take photos just no flash photography or video. There are toilets at the end of the tour and a small gift shop to purchase gifts.

It is an overpriced tour....

It is an overpriced tour. We had poor response from the tour company. We were told to be there at 7.30, and I had sent a few texts to clarify the meeting time, no one responded. We arrived before 7.30am, the tour only started at 8.30am. There were a lot of waiting time. The tour is less than 1 hour.

You only get 10-15 minutes to see the actual painting. But the tour guide gives lots of interesting info before as you move through the building. Everything went smoothly according to plan.

Loved seeing The Last Supper, but............

Seeing The Last Supper was amazing! Our tour guide did a great job explaining what we were seeing. But...........I was so stressed before the experience that it took away from the overall experience. The time on our print out was for 3:15 and it was stressed that we had to be on time or else risking not getting in. Well........I thought that the time printed on my confirmation was for seeing the painting. No, it was for meeting your tour people! They were late and I couldn't find anyone except others that were as stressed as I was! When someone finally came, we found it wasn't our tour time; our tour time was for 3:45! Of course, we got there 45 minutes before the 3:15 time so that we would not be late! And to add to our stress, we were told on the reservation that we had to turn in our voucher (not ticket) at a different location before the 3:15 time so that we could get our tickets!! We could not find where to go to redeem the vouchers and get our tickets! This was totally unacceptable for visitors who are unfamiliar with Milan! I was totally overwhelmed when finally a guy showed up and said he had our tickets! He was not our guide; just the one checking us in. This entire experience before the actual viewing could have been handled so much better! No where on the reservation did it say the 3:15 was just for meeting; not for viewing! And to ask us to redeem our vouchers at a different location was ridiculous! I am thankful that our guide was good and that we got in to see The Last Supper, but I would not use this company again as the entire process could have been so much better.

Crown Tours said be there at 7:30 am. You only needed to be there at 7:55 am. Then you waited for another 30 minutes while you got your own tickets and could not get in until 8:30 am. You stay in only for a short time so just get the guide info directly at the museum. Way overpriced.

Okay as a last resort

The Last Supper was amazing and the guide was good. Definitely worth it if other tickets and tours are sold out. The “small group” was completely misleading. There were 14 in our “group” - which is smallish, I guess - but it doesn’t matter at all. They let about 50 people into the room at the same time so our group was mixed with a large one and a few random people. Also, the instructions say that knees and shoulders needed to be covered so we wore pants and sleeved shirts on a very hot day. But this rule is only for entry into the actual church which is NOT part of this tour. We did go into the church after the tour and there were lots of people in shorts. Oh well. It was cool to see the Last Supper and everything else was booked when we looked. Hopefully you have other choices but if not, book this one.
