Very well organized with a knowledgeable guide who was captivating and great at story telling. We loved our time on the roof and if you have family members who are older would recommend getting the “lift” option. Gorgeous cathedral and memorable experience.

The tour guide met us at the meeting point as arranged and took us into Il Duomo. Barbara was very informative and friendly. The tour was relatively short but for children, probably sufficient. We walked to the top terraza which was quite a climb but fabulous views over the city. I imagine this would be nice in the late afternoon. We had to take the 11:30 tour because that was all the availability there was, it was very hot up there. All in all very nice, it is cheaper if you get tickets on the day from the ticket office but quicker this way.

Stair access only!

The Duomo tour was great, but we purchased the rooftop add on version and it was stair access only. I cannot walk that many stairs due to a knee injury. We were told by the operator that we could pay for the elevator upgrade, and would have done so, but when we tried we were told that the elevator access was sold out. Not sure how elevator access sells out, so we were disappointed that we could not see the roof.

Great tour. Highly recommend doing the 1 hr tour with roof/terrace access. Men need to remove hats and while I dressed appropriately as a woman they do also give our paper dresses to cover up if needed. Can bring in backpacks. Stairs to roof are very steep and narrow. Did not pay for elevator access but would have been nice.

Got off to a little rocky start as the tour operator had no flag that made them easy to find - instructions were unclear. However, our tour guide, Valeria, was so awesome she more than made up for it. Her knowledge, energy and personality brought the Duomo to life through the ages due to her fantastic storytelling. She was so wonderful and made the whole experience very memorable!

Though I have reviewed what I purchased and even the emails sent to me, when it STATES: “Rooftop access provided” if paid for (which I did), that means either taking the stairs OR the elevator (LIFT) IS INCLUDED in the COST!! WORDS HAVE MEANING!! Bottom line, at my age and knee issues, I can not walk up 251 stairs as I need to take the LIFT. VIATOR TITLES SHOULD state in “ “ STAIRS OR LIFT as an OPTION. To be told that is what I paid for (the stairs), it must be in little print….. overall, thank goodness I have a kid that can take the stairs and provide video afterwards.

I guess there was a change to my tour but neither the emails or app told me what the change was. It turned out it was the time and I never received what the new time was so I missed my tour. I happened to run into the tour guide and her colleague who were able to get me a ticket to go inside the Duomo and on the roof. But I didn't have the tour which I was looking forward to and paid for.

Spectacular building, unfortunately 50% of the exterior was not visible because of undergoing renovations. Viator should make this known to their clients and reduce the price since you don't get full experience. Barbara was a knowledgeable tour guide, but only a 45 minute talking tour for 1 hour 45 minutes experience.

We do, however, feel a responsibility to future travelers reading this review to offer some context. The Milan Cathedral has been under continuous restoration for over 600 years. This is not a temporary inconvenience , it is a permanent and well-documented reality of one of the world's greatest Gothic monuments, proudly stated by the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo itself. Maintenance work on isolated spire sections is as much a part of the Duomo experience as the marble itself. The suggestion that 50% of the cathedral was not visible is something we are unable to corroborate. The main facade is fully uncovered. The interior , 40 monumental columns, extraordinary stained-glass windows, and over 3,400 unique statues , is entirely accessible. Thousands of guests visit with us every month and consistently describe the experience as spectacular. We are a tour operator. The architectural preservation schedule of a 14th-century cathedral is, understandably, outside our jurisdiction. We hope this context is helpful to anyone planning their visit. Meeting point well described and easy to find. Explanations well done, tour guide seemed flustered and nervous and her talk sounded rehearsed right out of a book, without any personal or tif bit historical information outside of guide book.

Good intro tour to the Duomo

The 1 hr 45 min tour was the perfect amount of time for my family of 4 with two teenagers. Fast enough to keep our attention but provided enough details that we all learned a lot. Fadia was a lovely tour guide, very engaging and knowledgeable. We bought the ticket with rooftop access which was worth the views and seeing more of the beautiful architecture of the spires closer.

The men who ran the experience were not friendly. My son needed to use the bathroom at the end of the tour. Instead of them waiting patiently for 10 min for the radios we used they called and texted me multiple times saying they can’t wait all day. I may just be more accustomed to better customer service but I found this rude and not very understanding of a mom with children. Unrelated to that, I feel an independent tour would have been more fun.

This was supposed to be a 90 minute tour. It took 35 minutes and we did not get to visit the baptismal area of the grotto as promised when I book our tickets.

Booked at 1200 finally left at 1230, 40 mins, one side of cathedral, then left waiting to get into front area of cathedral for 20 mins, only benefit was fast track entry 54 euros is expensive and another 22 to climbs stairs, dissappointed

Rooftop and cathedral were incredible. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. Would recommend taking. However, would tell customers that it takes longer than 45 minutes for the museum. I would advise to do the museum after the cathedral and rooftop.

As requested, the refund for the elevator portion was already issued. We’d also like to clarify for future travelers that rooftop access was still provided, just not via elevator. Tour was not value for money. Started late so limited time in Duomo. Tour did not include guide on terrace. Ticket did not include lift to terrace. Very misleading promotion. We w ere very disappointed.

We usually don’t respond to reviews that contain inaccurate information, but we will make an exception here. The tour started only 3 minutes late. Also, it is simply incorrect to say your time inside the Cathedral was “limited,” since there is no fixed time restriction for staying inside after the guided portion ends guests are free to remain inside and continue visiting on their own. Regarding the rooftop terraces: nowhere on our product page do we state that a guide is included on the terraces. If you read the inclusions and tour description carefully before booking, this is clearly specified. As for the elevator access, we offer both stair-access and lift-access options directly on the website at the moment of purchase. You selected the stairs option. Guests who prefer elevator access must choose the lift option during booking. We strongly encourage future customers to carefully read the tour inclusions and selected option before purchasing, as all details are clearly explained in advance.

Really Disappointing

The guide was hard to understand, both because her English pronunciation was sketchy, AND because the antiquated audio that was provided (one ear pod with transistor radio style receiver) was awful. My hearing is normal and I struggled to understand. My spouse wears hearing aids and had to remove one to put insert the ear pod. She couldn’t hear anything.

Unfortunately, during the tour no issue was reported to us by either of you, so we were not given the opportunity to assist or solve the problem on the spot.
