The Duomo is amazing. It’s absolutely beautiful inside and the guide did a great job providing information and then giving us free time to explore. The rooftop tour provided great views of Milan and gave a better understanding of how the building was built and is maintained. Also, we enjoyed the small group size that made it easier to hear the guide and ask questions.

Itinerary

After meeting your knowledgeable guide in front of the Duomo, Milan's immense and extravagant Gothic cathedral, learn about the history of the church, taking some time to study the facade of the sacred structure, including the statues and wicked gargoyles.

Head toward the entrance to the cathedral, going right past that long line and entering the building, thanks to the skip-the-line ticket. Stroll through the interior with your guide, learning about the overlooked nooks and corners of the building and hearing about some of the incredible artwork that's inside. Admire the 50 incredible stained glass windows, as well as the sculptures and paintings.

After, come up to ground level again and exit the church. If you've chosen this tour on the weekend, take some free time to see more of Milan on your own or tuck into a nice meal at a local restaurant. Or, if you've taken this on a weekday, commence the rooftop tour immediately.

Go back inside the cathedral with your skip-the-line ticket and then ride in the lift up to the Duomo's terrace

Once on the rooftop, take in the amazing views of the city, getting close-up sights of the statues, spires, and gargoyles. Take a moment to listen to your guide regale you with more history of the cathedral.

After spending some time up on the roof and admiring the views, head back down to ground level, as your tour is finished.

Kindly consider that after the elevator, there are around 75 stairs in order to reach the top of the Cathedral, and back down at the end of the tour
On hot days, we recommend wearing a hat, applying sunscreen, and bringing a bottle of water to stay protected and hydrated during the tour.

The Duomo is well worth visiting however this tour has room for improvement. The guide arrived 10 minutes late without explanation, and failed to acknowledge and/or introduce e herself. While the guide was very knowledgeable, a walk and talk approach would have been much more engaging versus stopping at a location and talking for 10 minutes plus throughout the complete tour.

That said, some people prefer to pause during the tour to better understand the explanations rather than keep walking, especially since the tour took place entirely inside and on the roof of the cathedral, so there was ample opportunity to do so given the very limited walking distances. i am not very good at listening to detailed descriptions of historical items. That being said, I think I would just recommend to buy entry tickets and read up a little on the sight instead of having a "tour" - which was about 20 minutes of actual presentation.

Please refrain from providing false or misleading information. My friend and I were fortunate to have Eddy as our tour guide. Eddy was extremely knowledgeable and we learned a great deal about the Duomo, from its history, architecture, building materials, stained glass windows to the many exterior and interior interesting sculptures and designs. Eddy’s knowledge of the Duomo is inexhaustible. Besides being an excellent guide and teacher, he is very personable, attentive, and responsive to everyone who visits the Duomo under his care.

Excellent tour of the Duomo in Milan! Samantha, our tour guide was knowledgeable and professional! We learned a lot! We took the elevator to the rooftop, and it was lovely to look over at the city of Milan with beautiful views! Samantha was wonderful and we truly enjoyed learning about the building of the Duomo and its history from the beginning until now! We did have to go down the steps after we were on the rooftop, but it was not too bad. Would highly recommend.!!

Tour was pretty good and the history around this wonky church. Mix of an old church on one barely finished with renovations taking place. We booked the roof tour which is the best part for the views. If I could I would skip the inside and just tour the roofs. The outside of the church is amazing.

The tour was incredibly insightful, and our tour guide was so nice. She really knew her stuff, and I learned quite a bit! However, my brain was just a bit fried from all the information. By the time we got to the very top of the duomo, I was just about ready to leave. I’m not sure if I even stayed up there for 5 minutes. It was gorgeous nonetheless, but the tour was so long and I was ready to go. Also, there was a ton of scaffolding, so I didn’t get a ton of great pics because they ruined the shot. Overall, I highly recommend this tour if you’re super interested in the history of the Duomo and Milan. However, if you’re really only interested in seeing the cool infrastructure and taking pics, I recommend just buying a ticket in with NO tour. I believe they also have small audio packs inside so you can buy one of those and do the tour at your own desirable pace.

Very informative. Our guide helped us appreciate the beauty of the Duomo even more. Please note that while there is lift going up the rooftop, you’ll have to take the stairs going down. Something to consider for those with mobility issues. Otherwise, it is a fascinating experience. Lots of opportunities to take good photos!
