Great, Easy Day Trip

We had a great experience on the Toledo tour! The pickup spot was tricky to find at first, but it's right across from the fountain near the tourist information center and the bus terminal. We especially recommend adding the bonus Cathedral tour, it was incredibly informative. The whole experience was smooth, enjoyable, and an easy way to explore Toledo’s history.

Inexpensive way to get to Toledo, but the tour provides little value

There are no restrooms on bus, which is one hour away from Madrid. When you arrive at the destination, participants are advised they will have to wait to use a restroom until the end of the tour, which is one hour later. It would be beneficial to advise participants ahead of time. Guides should give tours in the shade, when possible, as opposed to direct sun- given the 103 degree temperatures (when shady areas were available). To mention the Jewish Quarter and provide absolutely no description of it, but rather to blend it with the making of the famous marzipan does not provide cultural education for those interested. Additionally, the guide, although pleasant, was not able to provide any of these religious or cultural explanations.

Poorly organized tour of Toledo

Description of place for starting point was horrible. Taxi driver dropped us off 3 blocks away after being shown written address. Thankfully bus was delayed (45min). Group included Spanish speaking as well as English , too much time wasted listening to both translations. We paid extra for tour of Cathedral , tour started at 4:10pm, we had to meet at the bus at 4:45pm, so we had about 15 min of the “private” guided tour. Guide’s English was not good and again a lot of time wasted translating in both languages.

The trip was great and excellent value for money but it seems that many, what can best be described as “rookie” mistakes were made. As many tickets had been sold by independent travel agents few travellers knew which company they were travelling with so when it came to pick up time at the end of the day many travellers were confused and concerned as ro which bus to catch and time was wasted ticking names off a passenger manifest ( particularly when a range of accents and languages were involved).The use of a simple wrist band with a tour identifier would have been useful. This was a bilingual tour with two guides, each with their personal loud hailer trying to inform their clients in two different languages ten metres apart - confusing? Certainly was. My next tour will be one that offers personal ear pieces/ radios. It seemed that the system was designed by someone who never has to use it. Otherwise the bus standard was excellent, comfortable and well driven and the guides were both informative and personable.

Tour not as expected

Group consisted of two tours 🙈 Once in Toledo we were split in two groups. Within those groups were people like myself who purchased the Toledo Experience and some going on to Segovia. Our local guide was very sweet. It was difficult to hear her unless you were up real close. We were left 1/2 way into the tour to explore the city on our own. Mind you the streets are like a corn maze, difficult to navigate. We found a restaurant and ate to kill time and afraid to wander too far for fear of getting lost. Finally time to meet the bus back to Madrid. No guide in sight. After 30 minutes we were put on 4 different buses to go home. Tour was not at all as described. Very unorganized.

Impressed by tour contents and sites of Toledo. However the cathedral and Alcazar were closed, which disappointed.

Full day Toledo tour

Chose the basic full-day tour. Poorly organized on the ground on Madrid. Construction has been going on at the pick up point for many months yet company couldn’t provide better guidance-address wasn’t accurate. Overall-worth it for round trip bus transportation. Glad the one hour walking tour stopped when it did.

En términos generales fue una muy buena experiencia, muy puntuales tanto para salir como para regresar, lo que se hizo muy corto fue el tiempo en la damasquinería, no tuvimos tiempo de comprar nada. Al autobús le faltaban algunos cinturones de seguridad. Las guías muy amables y muy atentas, gracias Alexandra y Ainoa, también gracias a Raquel!!
