Saw art that we would have walked right by if we weren't on this tour.

Would have been nice to know we were having apps before AND after the walk. We would have skipped lunch. Kind of fuzzy details about the art, etc. Did not even hear about the STAND installation. Buffy was delightful, kind and friendly.

    Response from Host, Oct 2024

Karen: The booking confirmation quite clearly states that included in the Art and Apps tour is “bottled water, and a generous selection of appetizers at the beginning and end of the tour.” We are sincerely sorry you didn’t read this and as a result felt unprepared and provided with too much food! But, such is the abundance of Southern hospitality! It was noted you and your friends ate everything and at the time were quite complimentary. We’ve never had overcatering as a criticism before! In fact, we’ve never received less than five stars for this tour so we’re naturally disappointed with your rating and complaint, which seems a little bizarre given the nature of the tour – Art AND Apps. Too little food would be one thing, but too much?? The fact you had to cancel dinner reservations could surely be an expense offset against the cost of the tour, and again, hardly something to level at us. We’re not sure what to make of your “homemade” comment. It sounds a little like a snide slur. For thirty years the owner of this tour company owned a gourmet food shop, ran a successful 40-seat upscale restaurant, and was known as one of the top most prestigious caterers in Lexington. Appetizers were all prepared fresh for you and your friends on the day of your tour. “Homemade” sounds so condescending. Would you have preferred store-bought, pre-packaged, previously frozen offerings? We both know that what you were presented with was a far cry from fridge leftovers. We are left wondering whether you just selected the wrong tour for your needs. The morning tour is a much more in-depth art experience that covers the STAND sculpture and includes refreshments at the end of the walk along the simple lines of lemonade and cookies. This probably would have been a better fit. Again, we are terribly sorry you were dissatisfied. Losing our 5-star perfect run is also very disappointing for us.
